The Saturday Special ~ Featuring No Cats Whatsoeffur! Have mew heard of Doga?

Welcome to

glitter maker

Greetings wunderpurr furriends

A few days ago we were contacted via the blog contact form, to see if we would like to share this info post about Doga, if mew haven't already guessed it's yoga fur dogs.  Well, we thought what a pawesome idea fur all our supurr K9 furriends and their hoomans to try - or purrhaps not! MOL/BOL

That aside if it helps facilitate bonding and health, how could we say no... so without further adieu, let us introduce mew to the joys of Doga.

If mew're having trouble viewing/reading the destructions on the graphic below, there's a link below that will take mew to the main webpage where mew'll be able to see effurything clearly. But mew can get the gist of it here... [magnifying glasses at the ready!]

Getting Down with Doga

If you’ve ever noticed your dog stretching out its front or back legs then you know there is a connection between dogs and yoga. Those stretches are mimicked in most yoga practices, forming the cornerstone poses of upward and downward dog. Many animal-like poses are featured in yoga, but it isn't overly practical to do yoga with a cow or a lion, so why not corral your domesticated furry friend instead? That’s right, doga; yoga for dogs!
You can practice doga one of two ways, with your dog as an active participant, or by simply allowing it to visit with other dogs in the class as your perform your asanas. Doga can be practiced at home with your dog, or by attending a class for other dog owners.
If you choose to practice the former, there are a variety of positions you can aid your dog in achieving, including wheelbarrow, forward bend, and even chair pose. In addition to building the bond between you and your dog, these poses can help your pooch physically by improving circulation. Doga also functions as a form of behavioral therapy and can help to calm a hyperactive or anxious dog.
It may be difficult to find a doga class at first, but this latest trend in yoga is sure to catch on like those before it!

Having trouble reading the text?

[Sadly the P.A. had to resize the graphic as it was way too big fur the blog] but here's the direct link:

So if any of our supurr K9 furriends are thinking of trying this new zen activity, purrlease leave us a comment, as we'd love to know what mew think!

Happy Caturday

Tuesday Tails ~ In The Realms of Legend

Welcome to

Featuring our latest adventure from the Realms of Legend

Mew may, or may not remember a couple of weeks ago on The Pet Parade  that we mentioned, unicorns

Fur those of mew that missed it, here's what happened....

*    *    *

There we all were have a little parle in the garden on Tuesday evening just as it was getting dark, as mew do - well actually the P.A. was whistling us to come inside, but mew know how it goes, a beautiful evening, it's warm and there's barely a breeze stirring the leaves on the trees and to be purrfectly honest, none of us wanted to go inside so we were hiding - anyhoo so imagine we're all hiding out and the P.A. disappeared back into the house and shut the door, and just as we were having a good old chuckle from deep within the undergrowth we heard a strange noise.

"Shhhhh," I whispered, and incredibly effurypurdy did. "I'll go check it out, wait here and don't make a sound."

I edged supurr stealthily being furry careful not to make a sound so I could see what had made such a noise. And to my fur smacking amazement I just couldn't believe what I was seeing, there was a soft whinny and muffled clips clops on the hard ground and I held my breath fur what seemed furever as my brain tried to register what was in the garden.

Finally I managed to speak and mumbled, "Unicorns!"

*    *    *

Well, fur the life of me I couldn't think why we suddenly had unicorns in the garden and then I remembered a conversation I'd had a few days earlier with Smoochie while we were sitting in the Magic Box... It played in my mind over and over like a continuous loop...

Neffur in my wildest imaginings did I actually think it would work, after all we were sitting in a furry ordinary plain non magical box that the P.A. had written - as a complete joke - 'MAGIC BOX'

And me in all my furry logic and purrhaps fuzzy logic playing along with the big hilarious charade winding Smoochie up fur the sake of winding Smoochie up, which as it happens was a tremendous, monumental BACKFIRE!

Oh heavens help me fur my total non believing faux pas, anyhoo all I'll say on the matter is, magic is defo REAL fur sure.  Smoochie's wish came true, we now have not one but two unicorns in the garden, the P.A. has no clue whatsoeffur and here we all are... again! MOL

BTW  the Magic Box has now been impounded and is locked securely in the secret bunker because if Smooch can rustle up a couple of unicorns and get them, who knows what else is possible.

The Saturday Special With Parsley et Al

Welcome to

glitter maker

Welcome pawesome furriends

Today we have something a little bit different fur mew, a couple of weeks ago we were furry kindly asked if we'd like to try a jigsaw puzzle, made by Wentworth Wooden Puzzles  well let me tell mew guys, the P.A. was thrilled, she absolutely loves jigsaw puzzles and we got to choose which one we wanted to road test.

So anyhoo, the P.A.'s totally, bestest, most favourite holiday is Halloween, so of course that's the one we chose. It's called: Halloween with Lesley's Cats  howeffur there were sooooo many pawesome cat themed puzzles in all honesty it was quite hard to choose!

It came beautifully boxed and the wooden puzzle pieces were in a lovely cotton draw string bag [no plastic here! MOL]

The P.A. was most eager to begin, so after tipping the contents out on the kitchen island the work began. During the sorting process, we found the most unusual shapes...

"Ah, they're the whimsy pieces!" the P.A. said.

I just gave her a blank look and nodded, not knowing what whimsy pieces were until she placed them on a place-mat fur my inspection.

"How apt!" I replied noticing that these 'special whimsy's' were all Halloween themed.

The P.A. beamed at me and said, "Now this a what I call a jigsaw!"

After sorting all the edge pieces and whimsy pieces from the rest of the pile, the P.A. began to puzzle with Parsley, Smoochie & Snowie - as they thought they were in it and wanted to make sure the P.A. did it right! MOL

"Mew're not doing right!" Parsley said. "That piece goes there!"

"I can see I'm going to have to do effurything!" Parsley muttered as he picked another piece up.

"Parsley," Smoochie said. "I can see one of these pieces from this pile goes somewhere!"

Slowly the puzzle was constructed.

Finally complete, Snowie came in fur a closer inspection and gave it her wholehearted seal of approval.

"The white cats are my favorite!" she declared after purrusing the picture.

"Of course they are," I replied.

The P.A. had this to say:

The puzzle was fabulous at 250 pieces = 14.2" x 9.8" inches - it may have looked easy, but getting the edges done was tougher than you'd expect, I can only imagine what the 1500pc would be like.

The pieces fitted together beautifully and the quality was fabulous.  The picture detail was wonderful and every time you looked at it, you noticed something new, I must say the artist put a lot of thought into it, in fact I love the picture so much that I'm probably going to frame it.

Overall it took me just under 4 hours to complete from initially tipping the pieces out to the final piece being placed.  Not the speediest I've ever done a 250pc jigsaw but then I was in no rush and let's not forget the 'added help' [running interference] from Parsley and Smoochie - which was a complete delight, at least they didn't lose any pieces.

Also the surface I was constructing the puzzle on was not the best choice -  shiny black granite with a light directly above, not the greatest decision on my part! LOL

All in all, I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed puzzling it together and will definitely be getting another one soon.  This is the one I rather like for next time in the 500pc Raining Cats and Dogs Jigsaw Puzzle

So if you're a puzzle lover, check out
