Welcome To

With Amber ~ The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Supurr salutations fellow biblio-cats

*waves paw*

The daffodils are out!

So how purretty are them flowers, I just love this time of year, the little splashes of colour popping up really make me smile.

Anyhoo, the new recruits have been put through some other tests and Pandora, well Pandora was not furry compliant with this one.

Basil decided to take full advantage of the mini-digger that is still on site, as obviously we can't get anything out of the bunker yet, and thats if the hatch opens once the new turf is laid.  So aftur a few minutes of playing in said digger, Basil said. "Come on Pandora, it's your turn!"

Pandora replied, "Mew don't seriously think that I'm going to be driving that?"

"Jeez MRS, like what's the purroblem?" Basil asked. "Most kitty commando's would love to drive this!"

"This equipment is not standard spy issue," Pandora said in her clipped accent. "I vas 'oping fur more of a stealth bomber or something!"

Basil looked at her and tutted rather loudly.  "Pandora, mew're part of the B Team now and we don't have a stealth bomber in the bunker, we don't even have a runway in fact, so it's the digger or nothing today!"

She looked at him, harrumphed and said. "I vant to be alone!" and promptly vanished.

Basil stared at the now vacant space occupied only seconds ago by Pandora and said. "Somedays mew just can't get the staff!!!!!"

Mew maybe wundering what the pendant is around Basil's neck, that is part of his homeopathic treatment package, it is programmed specifically fur Basil and his needs right now to help heal and strengthen his body aftur the second attack of pancreatitis.   And I think mew'll agree with me when I say doesn't he look so much better this week?  He almost looks like his old self, so paws crossed that his treatment continues to wurk, we'll keep mew updated as we progress with it.

Anyhoo I thinks it's time fur this weeks book...

This week on book reviews with Amber, I'm sharing

The Missing Corpse

The Lakeside Cozy Cat Mysteries Series

Book One

Here's the book blurb courtesy of Amazon UK:

Susan Becker keeps finding herself mixed up in mysteries when she should be busy cooking up something sweet in her bakery in the small tourist town of Lakeside, Missouri. Her best feline friend, Mr. Giles, is one of those curious cats who can't keep away from a fresh crime scene.

Detective Kip Fletcher has the unpleasant job of finding out who dug up and stole the corpse of one of the town's leading citizens.

A missing body. A mysterious skeleton key. Unexplained lights that could be the town's first ghost...

Mr. Giles already knows the truth. But can he guide Susan and Kip to the body snatchers before they vanish along with the corpse?

This one is new fur me, a compact cozy mystery.  This tail, sorry tale was only 2 hours long but even though it was bite-sized it was still a really good story.

The cat is also really cute, Mr Giles and he plays an integral role in solving the mystery, which I love as if the cat is not an active purrticipant then I feel cheated! MOL

So if mew want a quick read, this is definitely the cozy mystery fur mew, absolutely purrfect fur a rainy Sunday afturnoon when mew want something light and easy to read or listen too!

Paperback copy: 105 pages

Audio Edition: 2 hours

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furriends

Let's begin with our little breathing exercise, we're sure mew know what to do but if mew've furgotten: purrlease take deep fulfilling breaths; counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale:

Breathe in
Breathe out

Let all the frustrations of life, the universe and effurything go, just surrender all that stuff, throw it out of the window and smile, be happy and have a really great week.

This week we had another group Om-ing Session.

Though Amber just couldn't seem to keep in harmony with me and Smoochie.  Howeffur aftur a few attempts we got our zen harmonies synchronized and from thereon in our group session was most restorative!

The Pet Parade Blog Hop No:187 ~ Rascal & Rocco Co-Hosted by Basil & Love is Being Owned By A Husky & Barking from the Bayou

Supurr Salutations and Greetings Wunderpurr Furriends

As mew can see we've really got our green on today! MOL

Well whats been happening this week, I hear mew ask?

Mew've met the newbies and they're now enlisted in our Kitty Commando Training Academy.  They are on the intensive programme, so are learning weapons skills this week.  Howeffur Pandora is quite the little madam.  She said and I quote, "I vant to be a spy Basil, and mew may call me Pandora Von DaPlume!"

I looked at her, bemewsment readily apparent all offur my furry chops.  "And what makes mew think mew can be a spy?" I asked.

"Because I am Pandora Von DaPlume and I vould make a most excellent agent!" she said in her strange little foreign accent. "I speak many languages and 'ave many skillz that mew may not know about."

I raised an eyebrow and said. "Such as?"

Her glittering eyes narrowed and she smirked. "I did a lot of research on mew and it vould seem that mew vurked fur the F.I.B., aftur checking out your furry impressive credentials, I decided that I too vould be purrfect fur that life."

I must admit she does have great evasive skillz, as no matter how much I pressed her fur info, she was not forthcoming and changed the subject each time.

"OK Pandora," I said finally aftur dancing around an invisible mulberry bush in our verbal sparing session. "I'll tell mew what..."

She looked at me expectantly, a slight smile tugging at her mouth.

"Once mew've completed your Kitty Commando Training we'll talk about the spy stuff, ok?"

She gave me a curt nod and said, "I knew mew vould see things my vay eventually. and by the vay Fudge is a complete menace and I vould suggest that he is neffur left alone vith any kind of veapon, that is unless mew vant the bunker blown to bits!"

And with that she vanished.  "Furry impressive," I thought. "She'll make an excellent addition to the B Team."

At that moment there was an almighty boom, and a thick, black smoke cloud rose skywards.  Next came whooping and hollering and I launched offur the back fence towards the field, where to my utter dismay I found Fudge with a rocket launcher, with Smoochie & Parsley. They were all grinning and guffawing like complete loons as one of the round bales burnt to a charred crisp.  Before I could reach them Fudge fired again at another bale.  BOOM!  The huge bale exploded into a ferocious fireball.

"STOP! STOP!" I yelled as they rolled around on the grass laughing their socks off.

Fudge swung around and stared at me, rocket launcher waving all offur the place.  I ducked several times and in that moment I knew he had less sandwiches in his picnic hamper than the P.A.

"Oh no!" was all I could mutter.

"TIME OUT GUYS!" I shouted. "Rocket launcher class is done."

Fudge stared at me, his eyes had that slightly glazed look of pure ecstasy and then he spun around and pointed the weapon at another bale and BOOM!

Smoochie and Parsley were crying with laughter, but Parsley managed to say between gasps of air, "And mew thought that we were a liability, jeez Basil we've got nothing on that nutjob!!!"

"Yeah!" agreed Smooch as he pulled out a bag of marshmallows and began to toast one on the nearest flaming bale. "Where the flip did mew recruit him from?" then added rather genially. "Marshmallow anyone?"

I snatched the stick from his paw and ate the hot sticky mess, I knew I shouldn't but I needed to think.

"C.J. Catkin sent him," I finally said.

"Did mew and C.J. fall out or something?" Parsley asked.

I shook my head and tapped my comms unit.  "Snowie get C.J. on the phone purrlease, this is an emergency!"

Guys, this is only the beginning....

If mew missed anything this week, here's the latest links fur your purrusal!

We'll be back with our usual Selfie Selection on Sunday, so hope mew can join us then.

In the meantime we wish mew all a truly terrific weekend and a fabulous St Paddy's Day!!

Happy Hopping
