Colouring with Cats #19 ~ Getting Your OM on with Mandalas on Mondays!

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furriends

We hope mew've had a lovely weekend and here's to feeling all nicely relaxed fur the next few days, but if mew're not we know we can assist mew in getting your Zen Harmonies happening and that fuzzy feeling of zen-ness back.

Let's begin with our little breathing exercise, we're sure mew know what to do but if mew've furgotten: purrlease take deep fulfilling breaths; counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale:

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in
Breathe out

Breathe in
Breathe out

As mew know I've been convalescing the last week, and mew know there's no better tonic than a healthy blast of fresh air, so if mew've been suffering from a bit of winter induced cabin-fever get outside and breathe deeply, feel those cobwebs get blown away and mew'll feel so much better. I did!  And mew'll sleep so much deeper too, I did! MOL

Sunday Selfies #132 Nip-Headz & Blog Hopping with Cat on my Head

Wunderpurr greetings pawesome pals

Welcome to another Sunday Selfie Selection and aftur being in the garden this weekend and inspecting the nip plants, Smooch nearly had a melt-down as they aren't growing as fast as he'd like.

He had been watching a gardening show on the TV the other evening with the P.A. and learned that talking to plants helps them grow, though I don't know if shouting at them would be furry conducive! MOL

So today's theme is:

Nip-Headz

Is your garden springing into life yet?

The Pet Parade Blog Hop No: 184 ~ Rascal & Rocco Co-Hosted by Basil & Love is Being Owned By A Husky & Barking from the Bayou

Friday greetings wunderpurr furriends

Welcome to another pawesome Pet Parade

This week the lawn was unexpectedly mowed fur the furst time this year, and the mower guy had to avoid slipping into the crater aka what used to be the pond before Smoochie & Parsley depth-charged it!  The P.A. was not a happy camper when she saw the damage and has taken measures to ensure the froggies have a new home asap, so the builder chappy was called and arrived rather promptly, so now we have a new installation happening and the froggies are getting a rather lovely upgrade, and Parsley is paying! MOL

Ok, so many of mew will know I went to the vets at teatime yesterday for a little antibiotic shot.  That was all good, my pancreatitis is getting better and the results show a significant improvement, but I could have told them that as I feel so much better.  So now we have a little issue as the best way to deal with future flare-ups of pancreatitis - which hopefully will be non - and managing my kidney disease with the high fat low protein diet.

The P.A. is going to see her homeopath and find out if there's anything he can do to assist; he checks a fur sample on his magical machine to diagnose and provide a tailor-made treatment.  While this may seem a bit out-there, we can assure mew that Amber is a living testament, as when the P.A. furst took delivery of her at 7 months old [due to her previous peeps going to have her PTS due to the purchase of a new leather sofa - yep it's true!] the P.A. took her to the vets fur a check-up and discovered she had furry aggressive FIV and the vet said she probably wouldn't make 2 years old.

Anyhoo the P.A. took a sample of her fur to her homeopath and he gave her some little white pills.  Amber took them no problem and then her fur was tested offur the next month or so and adjustments were made to the homeopathic medicine.

Amber only had a couple of months treatment, she's 16 in October, so something wurked and now the P.A. is going to see if it will help me too.

If mew missed anything this week, here's the latest links fur your purrusal!

We'll be back with our usual Selfie Selection on Sunday, so hope mew can join us then.

In the meantime we wish mew all a truly terrific weekend!

Happy Hopping

Crosswurds & Wurdsearch's by Professor Basil ~ Brain Training with Cats! #20

Welcome to

Supurr Crosswurdy Greetings Pawesome Furriends

Welcome to another puzzling post.  This week sadly we only have a wurdsearch fur mew to do and this will be our last puzzling post until the autumn as we know the Spring is almost here and effuryone will be busy as the nights are drawing out and there's so much more to do.  We know how much needs doing in our own garden so have decided that we'll be back with our Brain-Training with Cats on October 5th.  Hope mew can survive till then! MOL

As mew can see convalescing is a furry serious business, and serious measures are needed, i.e.:- multiple beds with multiple degrees of softness in multiple locations are a necessity to ones well-being.

Right, I'd better get to the nitty-gritty now, the results of my blood tests.  Well there's good news and bad news, I'll start with the bad.  It would appear that I have kidney disease which appurrently is furry common in cats my age.  The good news is that the scale they measure it on is: 0 - 14 and my reading came in at 15, so this means that it has been found supurr duper early and no medication is required, just another dietary change of a low protein affair and a blood test effury 6 months to monitor how things are, and if in the future anything changes I can get medication.  So while it's not great, it's not horrendous, it's a manageable scenario.

My white cell count is up, so I've obviously got a little infection and by the time mew read this I will have been to the vets fur a long range antibiotic to deal with that.

My pancreatitis seems to have abated somewhat and I'll have more info on that today aftur my visit, but by all indications I am feeling more like myself and pestering the P.A. fur food.  I'll tell mew a little secret, I woke her up 3 times the other night to feed me, now if that's not an indication of my return to wellness I don't know what is! MOL  I'm also still waiting on the result of the thyroid test too.

And I've been keeping The Hoard in check as things have been running amok, so there's been a bit of court marshalling been happening as Smoochie and Parsley wanted to test  some depth-charges in the P.A.'s pond - it didn't end well fur the pond or the frogs.

The frogs are temporarily homeless and Parsley and Smooch are on lock-down in the bunker with Horice keeping an eye on them.

Smooch said. "Basil, Basil, Basil, I thought it'd be ok."

"Yeah they were only really small depth-charges!" Parsley added.

"Really tiny!" Smooch agreed.

"Iddy-biddy!"  Parsley nodded.

I gave them my furry bestest 'mew've got to be kidding me look' complete with the single eyebrow raise.

"But there is a flipping great big crater where the pond was!" I said. "And mew used Humphrey's new proto-type explosive without his purrmission!"

They looked at one another. "Oh we asked!" Smooch blurted.

"He was just in a bit of a nip coma at the time," Parsley mumbled and grinned.

I shook my head in dismay, "I can't believe how lax effurypurrdy is when I'm not here," I answered. "Parsley as mew're the one with the money dude, mew're paying fur a new pond and if I remember rightly the P.A. said something about a new patio being built in front of the summer house with a new pond being built in the middle of it."  I paused fur a moment to let this sink in, and then grinned. "I think mew'd better cash up one of your ISA's dude!"

I can't repeat what Parsley said, as to be honest it was rather offensive, but I'm sure mew get the drift!

Anyhoo I think it's time to get puzzling.
