Friday greetings gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and thank cod the firework fluffers have fluffed off at last. Mew know it went on for days, early in the evening, late at night, random times; it really is quite bizarre how some people opurrate.

Apart from that I've had an exciting week in the library. The Mewton-Clawson Historical Society had their AGM on Tuesday, so I was the hostess with the mostess, and Buster Frogmore, the lead historian of the M.C.H.S. complimented me on my catnip cookies and asked if I'd like to make a few batches and sell them to memfurs. Of course I said yes and promptly got Pandora and Smooch in the BBHQ kitchen whipping up a few dozen tasty delights.

And I made £32.24p, enough to buy some more books, and I've got orders for more catnip cookies, so I may have found a way to fund the library over the winter months.

This put me in such a good mood that I nominated Melvyn for this weeks review as I thought it was a rather suitable read for him. So let's see what he thought of my top book pick.

Today the P.A. is joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.

1. I have a __________ on my ___________________.

2. I wish I could speak fluent __________________.

3. I wonder what would happen if _________.

4. If I want _________, I’m going to have to _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I have a large monthly organiser on my desk, because if I don't, I forget what to post on the blog. Plus I can check back to who was featured on what day rather than have to trawl through old posts on the blog.

2. I wish I could speak fluent Spanish; I did French and German at school.

3. I wonder what would happen if a movie was made of one of The B Team adventures???? Epic fun! LOL

4. If I want to get stronger, I’m going to have to start lifting heavy weights again. To be honest I really miss going to the gym but I just can't seem to get the montivation to go while covid is still so preveliant.

This week's top book pick is...

Amber's Book Reviews - What Are We reading This Week ©BionicBasil® Of Cats and Men
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy

Of Cats and Men

by

Sam Calder

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Of Cats and Men is a stylish illustrated gift book from an award-winning artist profiling notable cat-loving men throughout history in words and pictures. Sam Kalda presents a fresh approach to the cat book trend that is smart, sweet and driven by engaging and beautiful illustrations. Appealing to both men and women, Of Cats and Men is stereotype-breaking and charming, making for a highly giftable book.

The 30 men profiled range from writers and artists such as Haruki Murakami, T.S. Eliot, Marlon Brando, Andy Warhol, Freddie Mercury and Ai Weiwei, to historical luminaries such as Sir Winston Churchill, Edward Lear and Sir Isaac Newton.

Hiya epic readers, Melvyn here today as Amber thought this book was a good match for me.

Anyhoo, what did I think of this suggestion? Furstly I really liked the hardback with full colour illustrations and as I sat in my corner of the library, which is at the bottom of the Military, Guns and Ammo section. I have a little camouflauge basket nestled under the tank section, but I digress. As I opened up Of Cats and Men the furst thing I noticed was how thick the paper was, which I thought was very nice, and the second thing as I've already mentioned were the beautiful full colour ilustrations.

And as I kept reading, I was greeted with page after page of incredibly interesting and notable male figures from throughout history, though I must point out there were a few modern day ones too who adored cats, so much so some of them were famouse for their feline fancying.

This is a really enjoyable read, full of facts and information plus a few quotes too, and I think if mew are cat crazy like we are at BBHQ, this is definitly a book to add to your list.

Cad dads of the wurld unite!

Really Top Paw!

Thanks Amber, I'm so purrleased mew gave this one to me.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books
