Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank you for joining me in the stacks today. This week, I've been trying to school Melvyn in better library practice, and what I mean by this is, that when a book is returned, it is placed back on the bookcase in the correct spot within ten minutes of arriving on my desk.

Amber's Book Reviews #266 ©BionicBasil® Melvyn Photobombs Amber

Obviously, by my utterly withering look, he's failing miserably. But not to worry, I have a little plan up my furry sleeve, and it's called treat motivation. So, whenever Melvyn completes a task within my strict guidelines and parameters, he gets to watch me eat a treat, and if by the end of the day, there are any left, I very generously let him have the bag. And if there's none left he can still sniff the wrapper! MOL

I am hoping that in time he understands what a great service I am doing for him, and hopefully motivating him to be more productive.

Don't worry. I do give him an extra treat bonus every Friday afternoon, so he doesn't get too disheartened when things don't always go his way. I think if I make things too easy for him, he will just expect easy all the time, and then one day, when he has to face something he doesn't like, or it's not what he expected, he will be better prepared to cope with whatever life throws at him.

It's all about the psychology of life...

Anyhoo, let's look at today's review after this week's fun Fill-ins and the Pet Photo Fail.

1. I used to dislike ________________ until _________________.
2. If it weren’t for __________________, I would never ____________________.
3. I find _________ very intimidating.
4. _________ gives me the inspiration to _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I used to (really) dislike brussel sprouts with a passion until the last couple of years. And now I actually quite like them if they're small and smothered in onion sauce - I still won't eat the ones that are the size of baby cabbages! LOL

2. If it weren’t for a chance meeting on the staircase of my apartment, I would never I would have never got my first cat back in 1997 - C.J. Catkin, and my life with cats may never have unfolded the way it has.

3. I find _________ very intimidating. Right now at this moment, I can't think of anything to fit this one, but I'm sure there is something, but it's not coming to mind - sorry!

4. My cats give me the inspiration to write the most crazy, bizarre, action-packed adventures.
Where the fluff would I be with The B Team???? LOL

Today I'm sharing a book in a series I started quite a while ago.

Catnip and Cantrips, the second book in the Twilight Hollow Witchy Cozy Mysteries series by Sara Christene, is a captivating and enchanting read that is sure to leave mew spellbound.
If mew missed book one's review - Familiar Spirits, click here. Book two takes us on a magical journey through the haunted woods of Twilight Hollow, where Addy and her familiar Spooky stumble upon a dead hiker. As they try to unravel the mystery behind the murder, they uncover a web of dark magic and deceit that threatens to engulf them both. Addy soon finds herself haunted by the ghost of the dead woman, making her a target for the dark forces at work. The author has a talent for creating a world that is both eerie and enchanting, with vivid descriptions that transport the reader to another world. The characters are well-crafted, each with their unique personalities and quirks that make them relatable and endearing. The plot is intricately woven, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the mew guessing until the very end. The addition of glowing animals in the town adds an extra layer of intrigue to the story, making it all the more captivating and mysterious. The author's attention to detail and descriptive writing style create a rich and immersive world that will leave you wanting more. From the haunted woods to the magical spells, every aspect of the book is well crafted to draw the reader deeper into the story.

Catnip and Cantrips is an excellent addition to the Twilight Hollow series, and a must-read for fans of cozy cat mysteries and magic. The book is a purrfect blend of supurr natural elements and mystery, making it a delightful read that will keep mew entertained until the very end.

And I just have to add, that I really love the cover of this one too!

  1. I do hope Melvyn appreciates all you try to teach him.

The tax service (Internal Revenue Service here) intimidates me. They have almost limitless power to collect first and find out whether you really owe it afterward.

It sounds like you've picked another book winner! Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

  4. This is an intriguing book Amber and you are right fur training Melvyn on book etiquette. Lynn says to pass on this about brussels, cut them little ones in 1/2 and lightly coat with oil and salt and roast. Makes them much less "flavorful".

  8. Amber, you crack me up. I like your training methods. You are looking gorgeous, as always. Nice review- that looks like an interesting series. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I have only like Brussel's Sprouts the past few years once I started roasting them instead of boiling. XO
