Fudge was enjoying a bit of time in the garden and found this sliver of a sunspot, which he stood in and absorbed all the warms.
So much so that his fur expanded, according to him, when we said, "Dude mew're looking a little chonky there!"
He replied, "Nah, it's just my fur swelling with sunlight, it'll keep me warm as it dissipates!"

Nature made that floof for cold climates for sure. Trapped heat, recharged in sun puddles is the way to go. Recharging with treats is also needed too, as back up when sun puddles fail to show up.

And yes, treats are the essential auxiliary power source. When the sun fails, the snacks must prevail. Fudge calls it “dual‑fuel floof efficiency!!!” MOL
