Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and furstly I'd like to say a big concatulations to The Whiskeratti Crew who won my birthday giveaway and to let mew know that the P.A. is sending your goodie bag next week.

In other news, it's been a bit quiet in the library this week, in fact thinking about it I haven't really seen anyone, oh I did see that HRH ERin is doing some pawesome book reviews on Sundays at the Palace library in Upper-Much Mousing, so do go check out what's hot and what's not at the Palace.

Melvyn is avoiding me like mew wouldn't believe as I want him to start moving books into the Bunker, yes I did get Level 7 as part of my birthday pressie which was pawesome though the other not so glamorous part was a trailer load of flat-pack shelving. Anyhoo I'm not a DIYer so I'm trying to devise a plan wherein I get The B Team to build all the shelves without them actually realising they're building my library, so if mew have any idea's leave them in the comments below! MOL

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.

1. I never thought I would say this, but _________.

2. I can't believe _________ is _________.

3. _________ is how I deal with stress.

4. Now is the perfect time to _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I never thought I would say this, but I feel lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut with a top hat on, this week.

2. I can't believe 2021 is almost here, wow, it's scary how fast time is going by at the moment.

3. Exercise is how I deal with stress.

4. Now is the perfect time to hibernate until the Spring, in fact I'm thinking at least mid-April just to be on the safe side! LOL

Introducing Gertrude, Gumshoe

by

Robin Merrill

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

WARNING: Gertrude can be a bit of a crank!

She shoots from the hip, is unburdened by tact, and likes things done her way. Yet, people adore her.

It's a mystery.

Speaking of which, Gertrude never set out to be a sleuth. She was just minding her own business among her many, many collections (including her cat collection), when her neighbor went missing. With no one else around to help, Gertrude stepped in to solve the case--and found out she's got quite a knack for snooping.

This old gal, Gertrude is as crotchety as us cougars so mew know I'm going really like her immediately! MOL

Mew may have seen that I only gave it a four paw rating, that's because not only do I have the large print version as in the pic above, but also the audio and if I'm honest I wasn't too smitten with the narration hence the loss of one paw - it's not bad but not 5 paws, so probably if I'd read it, it would have five paws for sure.

Anyhoo, the book is funny, and Gertrude has oodles of cattitude and doesn't give a fluff what anyone thinks or says, she is her own women and loves her many, many cats, solving mysteries and getting her own way. In fact, she is a force to be reckoned with.

If mew're looking for a new cozy mystery series this is definitely one to add to your list, the audio version which I got from Audible is a 6 book box set so well worth the one credit it cost. Just don't focus too much on the narrator and it'll be fine.

Try it, if mew love your mysteries this is a must-have.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books

  1. Those were good fill-in answers. Hey Amber, we enjoyed your review and maybe you could throw a NipFest ShelfFest for the boys!

  2. PA, sorry to hear you are feeling blue.
I watched the BBC news on Public TV here, and they reported that folks in the UK are taking the US Presidential election to heart, and are stressed over it.
Well, what about us who live here! I've requested that The Hubby discontinue watched the TV news, 'cause he just comes up with all kinds of ridiculous things to say...and much of it is very negative. Time to let the dust settle; it's almost like we've had another Civil War.
    Hope you feel better!

  3. Oh, we feel similar a lot of the time, esp during all the restrictions that most evil virus mess has us in.

  4. The PA's description for #1 about sums up how I feel since being told the risk factors for the op were so high, and knowing the next gallstones attack which occurs around every 6 months could be life threatening. It's a no win situation.
The book sounds good, but it is a pity the audio version doesn't live up to expectations.

  5. Thanks for that supurr review Amber. We may look it over but have so many on our list already. I would suggest to the B team that they need to put up the shelves so all your souvenirs and weapons can be easily sorted

  6. Great answers. Book looks like a good read. We love mysteries here. Mom is reading The Road To Redemption by Michelle Dalton. It's book 3 in The Lost And Found Trilogy. She Read Simple Truths Book 1 and Forget Me Not Book 2 all books by Michelle Dalton. We hope you read this Trilogy. Thanks for your review.

  8. You could tell the others that they need more shelf space to store their experiments and tools. Then, after they are done, quickly move your books.

  9. Amber, tell them the shelves are for storing catnip - they will help. :) Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers except I am sorry you are feeling so down. I hope you feel better soon. And Amber, that books looks great. XO

  10. What fun times in the library, and what fantastic fill-ins! I also can’t believe this year is already nearing its end. It somehow flew by while also trudging along like molasses. That’s 2020 for you. Purrs, and have a wonderful week!
