Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Many apologies for being late with this week's news, the P.A. has been a little under the weather the last few days, and slaving at the BBHQ supurr computer was not high on her priority list!

Anyhoo, we're here now so let's take a look at the runner beans.

The Midweek News at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® The Runner Bean Update

We did want to share a video, but we'll go back to the paragraph above and the P.A.'s lack of inclination to make said video.

But the good news is, they are now at the top of the garden arches and are readily sprutting new side shoots, so all being well the flowers won't be long before they appear. And the nice thing is growing them up an arch instead of our usual bamboo wigwam set-up, means that it should be easier to pick the beans instead of having the scrambling through a dense thicket of leaves and twisty stems to find them. They should just hang there, ready for the picking or plucking! MOL

The tomatoes are growing well too.

The P.A. has tied them up since this photo was taken. And flowers are now appearing.

These were grown from some seeds that P.A. found in the potting shed, there were 10 seeds left in a really old packet and eight of them grew. She didn't have very high hopes for the seed, but so far so good. They are the Alicante variety, so we'll let mew know how they are in a few weeks.

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news this week

Smooch Knows The Best Spot In The Garden

The Midweek News at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Smooch Knows The Best Spot In The Garden

Smooch loves being in the garden, just bipping about on pawtrol. But his favourite place to snooze is on the sofa under the gazebo.

He says. "Dude's it's the best spot in the garden, mew have a comfy sofa and shade, it's just epic!"

Next up in the news

Parsley The Panfur Stalking Through The Garden

The Midweek News at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Parsley The Panfur Stalking Through The Garden

Parsley, like Smooch loves being in the garden. Though he likes to go and hide under one of the bushes near the bird feeders to watch the flying snack packs in stealth.

Sadly, much to the P.A.'s horror he actually caught one the other day and proudly presented his gift at the patio doors.

So we then had to have a funeral, and no Parsley didn't attend as he was under house arrest for crimes committed in the garden!

He's appealing this judgement on his free movement around BBHQ at the moment, and the P.A. is now only letting him when she can snoopervise him while the investigation continues.

  1. Oh me-ooooo-ow! I, Precious am a lucky winner?!!!!!? there's no-purrfing any better. Thank you a million meows. I just want to tell Smooch and Parsley, I have become an early morn patio contained kitty and an afternoon contained kitty. I'm lovin' all the rolling on the concrete and watching the birdies fly over my head as I lay there. I envy Parsley putting a paw on one. I did have the chipmunk actually run under my fence and was within paws grasp, but I was so taken aback, that I missed the chippie chance of a life time. Lynn loves the veggie garden and is impressed with the tomatoes from seed, too. Purrs to all, Precious

  6. Ooops, hit send instead on going to the next line. I wanted to tell thr PA I LOVE the tomatoes and runner beans. Mom used to rase both outside in a garden and did quite well. She added carrots and onions as well. BUT she had to use the usual stakes for the beans. Your PA does a great job of work on her garden. Um..Parsley, You might want to belay supplying food for the table. It's a lot of work for you and the PA probably has supper plans already cooking. Nice of you to be a responsible family member though.
