Happy March the 1st!

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and this week I found a supurr cute throwback to August 2016 of me in the BBHQ Library. And if mew are wondering where all the books are, they are behind me! MOL

And last week, I mentioned that the P.A. made a wand, and asked if mew'd like to see it, and many of mew did, so here it is.

1. My favorite place to read is anywhere comfy. Though I must say, in the garden on a clement day, reclining on a lounger is a nice spot to read in the summer at BBHQ.

2. My favorite genre to read is ___________________. I love a bit of sci-fi, thrillers, or paranormal, but I really do enjoy all genres, so I don't really have an absolute favourite, as long as it's not one of those super romantic/loved up/gratuitous sex every other page, I'll probabaly read it. I'm more of guns and ammo type of girl than a romance type! LOL  I also like academic and non-fiction books too, and in the BBHQ library there's a whole section of really, really old books, some going back to the 1800s, which are always nice to have a peruse through.

3. The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy by Douglas Adams is a book I could read over and over again. Plus Terry Pratchett's Discword series, the Lords of the Rings trilogy, and let's not forget The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe plus others, all are totally epic. I do reread a lot of stuff and on average I probably get through between four or five books a week, sometimes more.

4. The book _________ inspired me to _________. This is a tough one, as I've read many books which have prompted action, so I unfortunately can't give a difinitive answer as we'd still be here next month! LOL Although I will say, the metaphysical and spiritual section in the BBHQ Library has been very beneficial over the years, food for the soul.

If mew're looking for a cat cozy mystery that's both spooky and entertaining, then Tails, You Lose is the purrfect read for mew. This is the second book in the Witch City Mystery series by Carol J. Perry, and it doesn't disappoint. The story follows Lee Barrett, a former TV psychic who's recently lost her job and is now teaching at the Tabitha Trumbull Academy of the Arts, in her hometown of Salem, Massachusetts. When the school's handyman is found dead on Christmas night, Lee's psychic gifts begin bubbling to the surface once again, and she's pulled into an investigation that leads her to uncover a tangled web of deceptions and secrets that have been hidden for decades. As Lee and her students begin work on a documentary charting the history of the long-vacant Trumbull's Department Store, where the academy is housed, they begin unravelling a century's worth of family secrets, whispers from the long-departed, and a spooky labyrinth of tunnels hidden right under the town of Salem. Even the local witches are freaked out, and when Lee begins having visions, she's sure that something evil is apaw.

What I loved about this book is its purrfect blend of mystery, history, paranormal elements and of course, O'Ryan, the psychic kitty; he's just pawesome. The characters are well-developed and continue to grow in this book, and the plot is engaging from start to finish. The author does an excellent job of capturing the essence of Salem and its rich history, which adds another intriguing facet to the story.

Tails You Lose is a fun and entertaining read that will keep mew guessing until the very end. I highly recommend it to anypawdy who enjoys cat cozy mysteries, paranormal stories, and history.
