Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, I was feeling very contemplative this week, and have spent a lot of time in the catservatory because it's been much warmer, and mew know how much I love being warm! MOL

We've been having some fun too, I snoopervised the P.A. making a wand, and for her first effort it turned out quite well. She'd been meaning to make one for years, and finally, she got around to it. If mew'd like to see a picture, let me know in the comments, and I'll post one next week.

Pandora was also snoopervising, well she does have magical powers, so I thought it better to have her nearby just in case the P.A. accidentally zapped something. Anyhoo, we gave 9 out of 10 for her first wand.

Oh, I just had an idea; what about a new crafting post featuring wand making? Or maybe not! MOL

This week, I thought I'd step away from the cat cozy mysteries and try something different, and I found the book "Cat Magick - Harness the Powers of Felines through History, Behaviors, and Familiars" by Rieka Moonsong on Amazon; it looked right up my alley, so I promptly ordered a copy.

I was thoroughly impressed with the level of detail and information it provided. As an avid cat book reader, I was eager to delve deeper into the world of cat magick and explore the mystical powers attributed to my fascinating feline species.

The author has done an exceptional job of combining historical facts, cultural beliefs, and purrsonal experiences to create a comprehensive and engaging read. Cat Magick covers a wide range of topics, such as the spiritual significance of cats in ancient Egypt, the role of cats in different cultures around the world, and the concept of cat familiars in modern-day witchcraft.

One of my favourite parts of the book was about the unique behaviours of cats and how they can assist in magical intentions. For example, and I know that many of mew already know this, but some new readers may not - did mew know that a cat's purring can actually have healing properties? Those purr frequencies are mighty powerful indeed!

There are also rituals to try, nothing too out there just in case mew're wondering; harmony, blessings, bonding deeper with your feline, making talismans, lunar and solar cycles, and others.

One thing I must say is that the layout and the illustrations within the book are just divine; even Melvyn had to come and see.

Amber's Book Reviews #270 ©BionicBasil® Cat Magick - Melvyn Reading by Osmosis

Yes, he reads by osmosis, a very ancient feline purractice, but he's mastered it finally! MOL

Even if mew're not interested in the witchy/wiccan vibe, the actual feline history presented is very thought-provoking and superbly put together. That, with the illustrations, makes it a really pawesome read. And if mew are into the witchy/wiccan vibe, well this book is purrfection.

An Epically Feline Fantastic Read!

  5. Love the pictures! And I'd like to see the wand picture too! I'd be mainly into the scientific and observational history part of the book ... I believe those healing properties of purrs are science- based facts!
