Hello meautiful library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today and my last review of the current season.

Happy, happy news, mew remember last week when I set Parsley on as the library manager?

Well, things took an incredible turn this week as Parsley set up a bank account for the library and put money in there, too; plus, he gave me my own credit card linked to said bank account - what an epically epic dude! Mew could have knocked me over with a library pamphlet, rolled me down Aisle B and thrown confetti all over me, and I couldn't have been more surprised!

So that's my epic news to finish this season's reviews on, and when I was looking for a cute photo to share today, I found this furbulous flashback to April 2015 - don't I look gorgeous?!!!! MOL

Anyhoo, what books have mew been reading this week?

Apart from this week's top pick, I've also reread (R.R.) three books, plus one new book (N.R.) since my last review:

Skin Game by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 15 - (R.R.)

Peace Talks by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 16 - (R.R.)

The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett - Discworld BK 22 (R.R.)

and

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros - Empyrean BK 1 - (N.R.)

It was a bit of a slow week book-wise, but Fourth Wing is a bit of a tome at 512 pages, so I waded my way through that. After a bit of a slow start, it's quite the page-turner, and I've already got my mittens on book 2—thanks, Parsley!

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. It would be nice to be a billionaire for a day. Just imagine how much good you could do for those in need in 24 hours.

2. The older I get, the more I appreciate the time we have and who we spend it with.

3. I like to decorate my garden with unusual items, such as telephone boxes, mill wheels, vintage wine pumps, huge antique pots, etc... I love uniqueness and individuality.

4. You’ll often find my air fryer on my kitchen counter. I love my air fryer, and I just bought a new thing called a Ninja Sizzle, so exciting! LOL

Let The Purring Begin

Sapphire's Tale

by

Sallie Cochren

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

If you are a lover of cats, this tale is for you!

When a sweet cat named Ashley finds herself tossed outside to live on her own, she doesn't know what the future holds for her. Frightened and forced to fend for herself, she isn't sure that she can ever trust humans again.

But that soon changes when she meets Summer, a kind woman who rescues her and gives her a new name - Sapphire. Despite Summer telling Sapphire that she loves her and that she is her forever baby, it takes time for Sapphire to trust a human fully again.

Sapphire and Summer aren't alone for long. It seems that Sapphire has brought some other cats with her. When she has three beautiful kittens, they all want to stay with Summer. Can they convince Summer to keep them all? And when a new cat named Mango shows up, how will he change their family dynamics?

This heart-warming tale, told by a former street cat, shares her journey as she learns to love again!

**Firstly I have to let mew all know that I was given a free copy of this book in e-format in exchange for a fair review**

Let The Purring Begin ~ Sapphire's Tale by Sallie Cochren is an enchanting book that will capture the hearts of cat lovers everywhere.

The story follows Sapphire's journey and is told from her point of view. It's like a kitty diary of sorts, documenting her life from hopelessness to happiness, with a few speed bumps along the way.

She is a resilient cat who, after being adopted as a kitten, her cat mom's soldier hubby returns from deployment a couple of months later and kicks her out, as he hates cats. Finding herself abandoned and alone after the super mean soldier drives to the middle of nowhere and dumps her; she eventually learns to trust again with the help of Summer, a kind-hearted woman who becomes her rescuer.

As Sapphire settles into her new home, the addition of other feline friends, including Mango, who's another stray, and the charming dynamics they bring to the household, create a heartwarming and often humorous narrative.

Sallie Cochren's storytelling is both touching and entertaining, making it a delightful read for anypawdy who cherishes the companionship of their whiskered furiends. Grab a hot beverage of your choice, find a cozy nook, and prepare to be whisked away into the heartening world of Sapphire and her furry companions!

This is a purrfect Sunday afternoon read, and I highly recommend it to all my readers.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did, if mew decide to read it.

It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back in the Autumn/Fall with another specially selected selection of paw-picked books just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books

  3. You sure look pretty sweet Amber and it sounds like you can do some fun book shopping soon. Those were good answers to the fill--in questions. That book sounds a bit sad to me but I trust your reviews. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  4. Amber you are as beautiful today as then. We love seeing you. And to know Parsley is working out as an aid to you, the librarian. Wonderful book review. And we are curious, as cats are, to know how the Ninja Sizzler turns out. If we had a billion dollars, it'd go straight to helping all the cats and animals that need good clean healthy loving homes. Take all poor abused pets from disgusting hoomans. Precious

  5. Amber, I love your bright sunny picture this week! How wonderful that Parsley is contributing to the library. That sounds like a good book.

  6. Did Parsley win the lottery? I am glad you can get lots of new books to read over the summer. I hope you will still show us some photos of you while you are on your summer break. That looks like a good book and you did a fine review. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I love how she decorates the garden, especially the phone booth. XO

  7. Who knew all that was needed to open Parsley's paw was to bring him into the library fold. You may make a full librarian out of him yet!

Your PA and I had the same thought for the first fill-in. I want to be able to give huge hunks of money away. As for the unique pieces in the garden, I like eclectic, too.

As always the book sounds great and I would love to retire and have more time to read. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
