Hello meautiful library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today.
Gosh, I must say that running a library full-time is really taking it out of me at my age, hence my covert meeting with Parsley. And yes, I know he gets a little upset sometimes, all the time, when I borrow his credit card, but really, he doesn't mind, as what else is he going to spend his money on? There's only so many weapons mew can buy before mew've got the full set, so I've been doing him a favour investing in first editions and the like.
So as Parsley is rather skilled in organising things, I've drafted his help in the library to manage things while I get a few more catnaps in during the day.
And, yes, I know Melvyn is my intern, but he's not old enough for the responsibility yet. He's too easily distracted and often goes off with the library mice into the archives to play hide-and-seek.
I'm just glad Parsley's on board to oversee things and keep Melvyn in check.
Anyhoo, what books have mew been reading this week?
Apart from this week's top pick, I've also reread (R.R.) three books, plus two new books (N.R.) since my last review:
Ghost Story by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 13 - (R.R.)
Cold Days by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 14 - (R.R.)
Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett - Discworld BK 40 (R.R.)
Past Sins by W.V. Stott & Bavid Bussell - Dark Lakes BK 3 (N.R.)
Killing Time by Jodi Taylor - Time Police BK 5 (N.R.)
The new Time Police book is really good, I'm a huge fan of Jodi Taylor and love the St Mary's series, epic!

A Midwinter's Tail
A Magical Cats Mystery Book 6
by
Sofie Kelly
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Kathleen Paulson is snowed under running her library and caring for her extraordinary felines, Owen and Hercules. But when a fund-raiser turns deadly, she’ll have to add sleuthing to her already full schedule.
Winter in Mayville Heights is busy and not just because of the holidays. Kathleen is hard at work organizing a benefit to raise money for the library’s popular Reading Buddies program. She has her hands full hosting the event. And when a guest at the gala drops dead, her magical cats, Owen and Hercules, will have their paws full helping her solve a murder.
Mew may remember, a couple of months ago I rediscovered this pawesome series, and I'm now on a mission to review the entire Magical Cats Mystery series before the end of the year.
Here are my previous reviews:
What did I think of A Midwinter's Tail: A Magical Cats Mystery BK 6 by Sofie Kelly? It is an enchanting and captivating tale that will whisk mew away into a world filled with cozy mysteries and magical felines. Join Kathleen Paulson and her extraordinary cats, Owen and Hercules, as they navigate through a charming winter setting in Mayville Heights.
The story skillfully creates a rich and immersive plot where Kathleen's commitment to her library and her clever feline companions take centre stage. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a bustling winter season, with Kathleen balancing the demands of organizing a fundraiser while diving headfirst into a thrilling murder mystery following a shocking incident at the gala event. And, of course, Owen and Hercules are there, front and centre, to assist in solving this latest crime.
Mew will be enthralled as mew accompany Kathleen, her detective boyfriend Marcus, and her extraordinary magical cats on a journey through a complex and intricately woven web of connections and secrets surrounding the deceased. Book 6 is a great, page-turning read that delivers an irresistible blend of cozy cat mystery and magical charm with a sprinkling of murder. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anypawdy seeking an engaging and fun escape into the world of enchanting mysteries and remarkable feline companions!
This book is purrfect for anypawdy who enjoys a captivating cozy cat mystery with a touch of magic.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books

It looks like you have a wonderful understudy sweet Amber. Hey, those were good fill-in answers and that book sounds like a really good one. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like another great read
ReplyDeleteI have to have lists for absolutely everything now. I even keep a notepad and paper on the windowsill (it is where I get best mobile reception!)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a lovely book. I have just ordered from Amazon today because I have less unread books than I thought. I will write it down for next time as I will be doing a lot of reading to pass the time while I am "hooked up".
I am glad Parsley is lending his capable paws while you nap and relax.
Sofie Kelly is the cats meow. Thanks fur the update Amber on the newest book. I am fur sure Parsley will continue to learn the ropes and maneuver the library without hacking up fur balls from the amount of werk he must do. Precious
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are getting extra help, running a library is a big responsibility and you may want to slow down or go part time before Melvyn is quite ready.
ReplyDeleteHaving time to do the things you love is a blessing.
The book sounds as good as always, you review excellent ones and I wish I had more time and less work so I could get to them all.
Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
