Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library.

This week I've been enjoying plenty of snuggles on my blanky as it's been a little cold some days... how's the weather been where mew are?

I hope mew're all staying safe and are still evading this eveel virus. The confirmed cases in Nottinghamshire are now at 298 [Thursday pm], up 96 from 202 yesterday.  And cases are rising exponentially all over the country; apparently according to experts here, they say the peak in the UK will start on Monday 6th through to approx 30th April, so its batten down the hatches and stay the fluff away from everyone.

All incoming deliveries to BBHQ are being dropped in the trolley at the gate, and then taken for full decontamination before they even enter the house.  The P.A and dad are going nowhere other than a walk after dark, when there's absolutely no one else about.

The wurld is a really scary place right now!

Stay safe everypawdy.

This week we're also joining in Friendly Fill-ins with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. April is a good time to ___________________.
2.This time last year, ___________________.
3. I am determined to _________.
4. I have no intention of _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. April is a good time to start your Spring cleaning, and setting your veg & flower seeds.

2.This time last year, I was planning my garden revamp.

3. I am determined to get my fitness back after my accident last June.

4. I have no intention of leaving my house during daylight hours!

Now I think it's time to share this weeks book.

Here's A Small Snippet of the Book Blurb:

With her passion for scientific experimentation and her pet tarantula Violet, Tess de Sousa is no ordinary orphan. When a stranger shows up at Ackerbee's Home for Lost and Foundlings, claiming to be a distant relative come to adopt her, Tess hopes to find some answers to her mysterious origins.

This is another book from Melvyn's Top Ten list at the beginning of the month, and I must say it's a fab read.  I know I'm asleep in the pic above but even the most hardened library cat like myself needs to nap! MOL

Anyhoo, let's get back to the book; it has a great plot, interesting characters which develop nicely, the pace rattles along at good speed with plenty of mystery and intrigue along the way. There's some sciency parallel world stuff, token bad buys and a rather marvellous pet tarantula called Violet.

It has all the ingredients for a really fun, page-turning read, and the burning question is, would I recommend to mew?  Of course I would, it's great and would be purrfect to while away a few hours during the lockdown.

Try it, I'm sure mew won't be disappointed.

I do hope mew enjoy this book if mew decide to give it a try...

...and if mew've read it already, what did mew think?

Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just fur mew. And don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time

Keep calm and read on

And don't furget while we're all on lockdown, we The B Team have got your six and can entertain mew fur weeks; there are oodles of colouring pages to download and not furgetting the colouring books too.  There's a page full of crafting projects to keep your mittens making stuff!

There are some epically exciting adventure stories too, so read our thrilling tales episode by epic episode.

We've got some new Brain Training posts, just to keep your little grey cells in tip-top condition. And we’ll be adding extra jigsaw puzzles to the puzzle page.

If mew want to see more of what's been happening at BBHQ since the lockdown began, check out our Instagram feed where mew can see our daily diary and exclusive videos that we don't put here on the blog.

  2. Dad has always said "So many books, so little time" too, but now he's changed that to "So many books, so much time" now that he's home more. Not a bad thing necessarily, but considering why is the scary part. Stay safe, y'all.

  3. You do great reviews Amber. Love the fill-ins.

The weather here has been spring like the last few days, but another storm is on it's way, so it will be cold, windy and wet again.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

  4. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I had the same answer for #1- now to actually do it :) Nice review Amber, that looks like an interesting book. Praying you all stay healthy. XO

  5. That sounds like a nice book, Amber. I have managed to find a small firm that will deliver my fruit and veg and is all grown locally. Also a local farmer butcher who is delivering my meat every Friday. I have given up trying to get a delivery slot from the supermarkets. I am in the at risk category and self isolating for 12 weeks, but unless I am extreme risk they won't deliver to me.
Not to worry, as long as I have my fruit, veg and meat I can manage. I have someone else who gets the essentials like milk and bread.

  6. We are curious about that tarantula Violet. Wonder if she helps the little girl find out about her mysterious past. Mom says she's going to hide the car keys so Dad can't wander off to the garden and hardware store when he's bored. We have 118 cases reported in our county, and one sadly dead. Over 1,400 cases in our state, but we live on the Memphis, Tennessee border where the cases and deaths are much larger. Not going anywhere anytime soon, for sure!

  7. We enjoyed your friendly fill-in answers. Your blanky looks very comfy. We had a couple of windy and cold days recently, but today is almost sixty degrees. Thanks for sharing. Have a fantastic rest of your weekend.

  8. Scary subject material with a Tarantula...shiver me timbers...oh wait that's for pirates...MOL!

We are getting more cases and sadly more deaths around here too...so far not where petcretary works...and we pray it stays out of there.

  9. This sounds a lot of fun, even the spider, MOL. I bet there'd be NO pulling the legs off that one! Stay safe and well, and do keep reading and sharing as that helps us all enjoy the necessary shutdown.
