It's been a little hit-and-miss with the weather this week, and while there have been some nice sunny spells since Caturday, the wind has been gusting on and off, with intermittent showers.
Anyhoo, a few of the tulips have made an appearance in the last week, which has been nice, but we think a lot of the bulbs have probably rotted due to the excessively wet winter.
So we have made a note to buy some extra bulbs later in the year to plant for next spring.
How are your spring flowers coming along? We do hope mew've got a lot more colour than we're experiencing! MOL
First up in the news this week
Parsley's Brush with Wind
Next up in the news
Fudge and the Jumbo Cushion
Her excuse was, that there were a load of old pillows piled up in the craft room and a pile of fabric squares that were surplus to requirement.

You have some awesome beauty in your yard
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe have flowers here but need a bit more rain. Not storms mind you, lest someone get any ideas, but some rain.
It does look like Parsley ran into "a right smart o' wind," as I've heard it called.
The giant cushion looks like a worthwhile project to me, and might be part of structured procrastination.
The bandana is fabulous, Melvy, but something is wrong with the links as I couldn't get to any of the videos on two different devices.
The spring garden bandana might bring more spring weather with it, it's worth a try.
Thank mew for letting us know, we've fixed it know! Purrs The B Team xx
DeleteCame back to watch the YouTube version (the only one that works with my devices). Nicely done, Melvyn!
DeleteMelvyn, the yellow haze, purrlease. And Lynn watched all about that cushy new bed being made. If you had the vicious grey squirrels we do, they'd have ate all the tulip bulbs. No need fur the rain to ruin them,, mol. Precious

Love the beautiful flowers and that cushion is pawsome.
ReplyDeleteI choose Spring Garden for next week.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to your wonderful mom. ♥
Your tulips are very pretty! We tend to let things grow wild here so we have these blue wildflowers called spiderwort. They're everywhere right now. Iris are coming out too. Love all your kitty pics and Melvyn's walk with roll is fun! We like the spring garden bandanna for next week.
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrific pillow!
ReplyDeleteYellow Haze gets my vote.
Beautiful blooms. That is a nice cushion- you kitties are so lucky. Looking good Melvyn. XO
ReplyDeleteWe vote for Yellow Haze, Melvyn! Parsley, we don't blame you for fleeing that gusty stuff. INside is much better. Maybe you can join Fudge on that amazing cushion your PA made. :)
ReplyDeleteThe tulips are lovely. The azaleas are starting to come out. The red is in full bloom but it is always earlier than the others. the winter before last all of our begonia bulbs rotted, so at the beginning of last winter we dug the new ones up and kept them in the bottom of the airing cupboard. I have put them in the greenhouse now in potting compost to grow on a bit before being planted out. They are a bit slow but hopefully another month will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteThat was some cute rolling from Melvyn.
