Hello meautiful library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and this week I've been recovering from my pawty; yes, it really was EPIC!  And thanks again to all those who attended the riot!!! MOL

It was the Mewton-Clawson Annual Zombie Hunt a couple of nights ago. However, I'm too old to participate. So I just watched via drone footage, and let me just say this, it was scary as fluff.

Fudge almost got swarmed by the pub; luckily, Parsley was on paw to assist, and then Smooch got himself cornered by the old sheep dip, and Basil had to take care of that mess.

Melvyn, well, Melvyn decided to keep me company in the bunker as he'd heard I'd got some furbulous snacks to munch on while viewing the live feed.

So we had a great time while the rest of The B Team was out in the thick of it. Basil will tell mew all about on next week's news, and reveal who tagged and bagged the most zombies! MOL

Anyhoo let's look at this week's top book pick.

Today, the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I _____________________daylight savings time.
2. This month, I plan to _________________________.
3. _________ gives me nightmares.
4. Now that _________, it’s time to _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I don't like daylight savings time. Why can't we just stay on summertime? I like it lighter later in the day.

2. This month, I plan to get some more done on The Purrminator, as Melvyn is desperate to tell his story, and hopefully, you all enjoyed Chapter One yesterday.

3.  Horror Movies give me nightmares. Can't watch them, and won't watch them!

4. Now that it's November, it’s time to do some snipping and pruning, plus general garden tidying before the cold really sets in.

A Pocket Full of Pie

The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency Book 9

by

Mandy Morton

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Join Hettie and Tilly as they tune in to a world of blackmail, obsession and murderous pies.

As the Easter weekend approaches, feline detectives Hettie Bagshot and Tilly Jenkins are called to investigate the murder of local radio DJ Hartley Battenberg.

Bowled over by the prospect of a bake-off competition, a cricket match and an outdoor screening of The Sound of Music, Hettie and Tilly struggle through a sea of trifle to catch out a killer.

Here are the previous books in the series that I have reviewed so far:

The Michaelmas Murders BK 5 - Review Coming Catmas 24

In the whimsical world of Mandy Morton’s A Pocket Full of Pie, mew are treated to another delightful escapade with the dynamic duo of feline detectives, Hettie Bagshot and Tilly Jenkins. As Easter weekend approaches, the stakes are high, not only for the baking contest that has everyone buzzing but also for deciphering the puzzling murder of local DJ Hartley Battenberg. And let me tell mew, this cozy cat mystery is a treat sprinkled with just the right amount of suspense and humour! The backdrop is a cornucopia of festive activities—trifle galore, a raucous cricket match, and an outdoor screening of that classic musical, *The Sound of Music*. What more could mew ask for? Hettie and Tilly dive headfirst into a whirlwind of events that threaten to distract them from their sleuthing. Their amusing banter and charming personalities shine through as they navigate this comedically chaotic landscape filled with suspicious characters and, of course, plenty of pastries. The story weaves an enjoyable narrative where mystery and confection interlace seamlessly. Just when mew think mew’ve got it all figured out, clever plot twists and turns keep mew guessing and turning those pages. A Pocket Full of Pie is not just about pie and pastries—it’s a celebration of the quirky, heartwarming charm that comes with small-town life, complete with its eccentric feline residents and their purrculiarities. If mew are already a fan of the No. 2 Feline Detective Agency, mew will relish this instalment as it serves up humour, warmth, and a sprinkling of intrigue that is just as satisfying as a slice of pie! So grab a cuppa, a cosy blanket, and prepare to be entertained. Hettie and Tilly are on the case, and mew won’t want to miss out on this scrumptious murder mystery full of delightful shenanigans that’ll leave mew howling with laughter and guessing until the very end. Highly recommended for anypawdy who enjoys a good cat mystery with a side of dessert!

A Purrfectly Delicious Mystery!

Another furbulous addition to the series!

The series has fourteen titles so far, and I'm hoping there will be many more!

  1. I think you and Melvyn had the best idea!
I dislike Daylight saving too and find it pointless. Keep the lighter evenings for as long as possible!! I used to watch horror movies in my teens and early twenties, but no way now!
Great review, Amber. I have just added it to my list for my next order. I have just read Honey Hairballs and Murder, and Starfell before that. I take them to chemotherapy with me, but that is not very successful because they give me an infusion of steroids before the toxins so I tolerate them better, but it makes me sleepy. I end up reading most of the books at home.

  3. Would definitely like to see that drone footage, Amber!
Have never enjoyed horror movies either, but an old Vincent Price movie is always worth it.

  5. Love your pictures, Amber! We don't like the time change either, we'd rather have light as long as possible into the evenings. Sounds like a good book!

  6. Amber , a pocket full of pie! What a messy dress that'd be, mol. We love the story line. Lynn has cold outside today and she's not happy. I'm UTB furom going to git my teeth cleaned. Lynn must plant her tulip bulbs in pots like yer PA now that it is not summer hot. Precious

  7. Sorry I am a day late. Google never lets me sign in on Fridays. Amber, that is a beautiful shot of you. Nice review, but odd choice with an Easter theme for this time of year. :) Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins. I enjoyed her answers and loved the first part of her new adventure. XO

  8. I'm glad the zombie hunt went well and don't blame you and Melvyn.

Yes, we should stay on summer time, or standard time, whichever one, but not switch. It's dangerous to our health and economically bad for us, so much so if it were anything else causing this much trouble it would be outlawed.

Thanks for the book review and for once again linking up with Feline Friday!
