Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today and many apologies for being a tad late in opening up the library. Though as mew will know if mew saw our previous post, the reason for our tardiness is because there was a new floor being put down and we had no access to the puter in the room as it was all a total jumble for a few days.
It should have been done in a day but there was a bit of a fluff up and the wrong colour quadrant was ordered for the edge of the room, so we had to wait another couple of days with all the furniture pulled out until the right colour arrived and was fitted.
Anyhoo, it's all down now and looks lovely so we're really happy with that. And the P.A. is waiting for the shops to open again so she can go and get a couple of new rugs as the original ones in there were ordered online and the wrong ones came, so she just lived with them as it was too much trouble to ship them back to the store, but she has never really liked them and she plans to move them into the craft room. She has her eye on some lovely soft rugs instead of the natural jute/seagrass style that's here.
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I like being _____________________________.
2. I don’t want to __________________, but I have to.
3. I’m counting down the days until _________.
4. _________ is a lot like _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I like being at home more with The B Team. It's pawesome spending more time with all the kitties, even when they tread on the keyboard and try to delete blog posts! LOL
2. I don’t want to decorate the bathroom, but I have to. Luckily it's only the ceiling and woodwork that needs a quick refresh, and we are putting a new floor down too. Why is it that when you do one room, it ends up being the entire house? I also just refinished the kitchen table this week, and have the sideboard, dining chairs and wine cupboard to do next, and after that, the sitting room furniture needs a quick spruce too, as the paint I used last year wasn't suitable and basically I just created myself more work by using the wrong stuff instead of waiting to get the right paint.
3. I’m counting down the days until 21st of December, the shortest and darkest day. Then after that, the nights start drawing out again wooo hoo!
4. Living with lots of cats is a bit like living in a madhouse at times, all the different purrsonalities all wanting different things and sometimes at the same time which then creates a hiss and spat, life is never dull in a multi-cat home and I wouldn't change a thing I love it!
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy~ Audio Version
Beyond the Gravy
The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency
by
Mandy Morton
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Psychic cat Irene Peggledrip is being visited by a band of malevolent spirits who all claim to be murderers. Not only is their message disturbing, but they cause chaos with indoor snowstorms, flying books and the untimely demise of a delicious Victoria sponge. Irene calls in Hettie and Tilly of the No. 2 Feline Detective Agency to help, but they’re not sure how far their skills reach into the spirit realm.
This is book is number 7 in the No. 2 Feline Detective Agency series. The other reviews for this series can be found on my Review Page.
So what did I think to Beyond The Gravy? I listened to the audio version of the book and as with the previous books I wasn't disappointed at all, the narration was flawless and highly enjoyable.
The main characters keep evolving and revealing more about themselves and the supporting cast was very entertaining, this time there was a whole host of weird and wonderful cats including one obsessed with the ancient practice of hanging, but that's as much as a spoiler as I'm going to give.
Mandy Morton writes a fabulous cat mystery, and I hope she keeps on writing this fun and entertaining series for a long time to come.
I'll be reviewing book 8 soon, so do stay tuned for that and in the meantime, I'm sure mew'll love this book.
