Well things have calmed down somewhat, but now the lawn has disappeared, what devilry is this?
We woke up on Monday morning to the sounds of a mini-digger again and when we looked out of the window, that's what we saw - above - where's our lawn and fur Bast's sake be careful of the bunker hatch!
Basil was going off his dial, he raced to find the P.A.. "Jeez, like WTF is happening on the lawn?"
The P.A. replied. "Basil we're having new turf, it'll be lovely!" She beamed widely. "It's going to be flat as a bowling green and I'll finally be able to get the antique croquet set out of storage."
"But what if they damage the bunker hatch in the lawn, how will we get all the equipment in and out?" he paused fur breath then added. "If they dig any deeper they'll be hitting metal... OMC this is such a disaster!"
"Stop being so melodramatic!" the P.A. answered. "That's as deep as they're going but they will be adding a layer of new top soil."
"WHAT????" Basil almost choked. "How much extra weight will that be?"
The P.A. shrugged. "I have no idea, why will it be a problem!"
"OMC WTF!" Basil wailed. "The hatch was calibrated purrfectly to lift the precise weight of the old lawn, by adding all new soil and whatnot, this is changing effurything and if the hatch hydraulics can't lift the new one and the motors burn out, we're screwed!"
"Basil, Basil, Basil, take a breath sweetie," the P.A. said patting him gently on the head and tickling his ears. "It'll be fine, we'll just get a bigger hydraulic system."
Basil pondered this fur a moment. "But how will we get it down there if we have no access?"
"Ah, good point," the P.A. conceded. "Well I'm sure with all your brain capacity you'll figure it out," then she added smiling widely. "I can't wait to play croquet!"
"ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
That was the last thing I heard before the digger rumbled back into life!
OOOOOPS!!!
An emergency meeting was called in the control room immediately.
As Fudge and Pandora haven't completed their Kitty Commando Training yet, they were not at the meeting as they don't have the clearance level.
We'll have more news on this current situation as it unfolds.
Howeffur Basil did say this, "Jeez this would be the wurse time effur fur a new adventure to start when we have no access to our larger equipment!"
Anyhoo I think it's time fur this weeks book...
This week on book reviews with Amber, I'm sharing
Cat Among the Pumpkins
The No 2 Feline Detective Agency Series
by
Mandy Morton
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
As All Hallows’ Eve approaches, Hettie Bagshot of The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency has more than just a ghost and warlock tart on her plate. Along with her faithful sidekick, Tilly, the tabby duo set out to investigate an old crime and a spate of new murders.

This is the second book in the series, mew can read my review of the furst one here. I loved this book, it carries on from book one and is totally fab. Hettie and her partner in crime are back with a new adventure. There's a crime spree happening and so many red herrings to throw them off the scent.
There are plenty of new characters to keep mew entertained and I can safely say this is a great sequel that will leave mew wanting more, which is good because there's another 2 more to read and hopefully more will be added.
I did read a couple of the reviews on amazon UK and one said that the book was racist due to names of Indian food being used fur cat names and said cats with Indian food names were running corner shops, which if I may be so bold to say this: I didn't think it was racist, I just think that it should be read as what it is, pure fiction and not start pulling it apart because of a few name choices, that may or may not be politically incorrect.
My advice: Read it, enjoy it, it's only a book - let's not be stressed by it! MOL
Paperback copy: 256 pages

I hope mew enjoy this book if mew do take the plunge and buy it... and if mew've read it already, tell me what did mew think?
Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and we'll be here again on Friday.
Happy reading or listening

DeleteBasil, do you mean your gonna have peeps playin' croquet on top of your bunker? MOUSES! On the one paw, it'll be like your bunker will be hidden in plain sight. I mean, who would ever think they were playin' with balls over a bunker, right? But on the other paw, it just seems so disrespectful, you know? MOUSES!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely *adore* Hettie Bagshot!!! Those books are just too fantastic for words. There's a fifth book coming out this fall!
