Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, this week we decided to bip to County Cork in Ireland in our Time Travelling Telephone Box and visit the Drombeg Stone Circle.

Greetings fellow travellers and history lovers!

During our brief trip to Ireland, we had the privilege of visiting the Drombeg Stone Circle, an ancient site located in County Cork, which is believed to have been constructed during the Bronze Age around 1100 - 800 BC. The stone circle is made up of 17 large stones of which only 13 are remaining, some of which stand approximately just under 2 metres tall. The stones are arranged in a circle that spans around 9 meters in diameter. There are also 2 portal stones standing just over 2 metres tall and a further altar stone. The construction of this site is a true testament to the ingenuity of its builders, particularly given the time period in which it was constructed. While the purpose of the Drombeg Stone Circle remains a mystery, experts believe it was a site of great importance to the people who built it. Some speculate that the stones were arranged to align with astronomical events such as the winter solstice, while others believe the site was used for religious or healing purposes. Regardless of its original purpose, it's clear that the site was of great significance to the people of that era, and it continues to captivate visitors from all over the world. In addition to the Drombeg Stone Circle, there are several other fascinating historical sites to explore in the area. For example, just a short distance away is the Timoleague Castle and Friary, which dates back to the 13th century and is a stunning example of medieval architecture. There is also Blarney Castle and the legendary Blarney Stone; on the site a wooden fort was built in the 10th century, followed by a stone fortification in the 12th century until the castle was built in the15th-century, and mew can go explore the extensive gardens after your castle tour. Overall, a visit to the Drombeg Stone Circle and the surrounding area is a must for anypawdy interested in ancient history and archaeology. The sheer scale and grandeur of the stones are pawe-inspiring, and the site is steeped in history and mystery. If mew're planning a trip to Ireland, be sure to include the Drombeg Stone Circle on your itinerary - it's an experience mew won't soon forget.

We tried Prisma again this week, but there was nothing that complemented the picture, so BeFunky came to the rescue, and we think it turned out quite well, we love the dark moody effect.

The effect was created with Befunky - AI Enhancer, Inkify 4 + colour changes to fill light and saturation.

We also turned this fab arty-farty picture into a puzzle, so do stop by the puzzle page and take the Puzzle Challenge, see if mew can beat our time of 21 mins 56 secs, OMC it was really hard, remind us not to use a filter with so much black next time! MOL 

We're off to to go and pack Amber and Pandora's giveaway goodie box, we ordered some fabric, but it was on backorder and so we are a little late making the snuggle mat, but it's done now and ready to go.

Smooch is waiting for his roast dinner and in all honesty, if he doesn't move soon the P.A. will banish him from the kitchen for health and safety reasons! MOL
