Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and my goodness, what a warm week it's been. The catservatory was off limits as it was pawsitively scorchio in there, so I've spent most of my time in the sitting room, with Melvyn fetching my books from the library.
He did start to grumble, so I casually reminded him that I could always take away his modelling privileges again.
After that, he became very very happy to be at my bidding, and he even brought me books that I didn't ask for. Though I suspect it was a ploy to keep me busy! MOL
Anyhoo, what books have mew been reading this week?
Apart from this week's top pick, I've also reread (R.R.) plus two new books (N.B.) since my last review:
Small Favor by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 10 - (R.R.)
Turn Coat by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 11 - (R.R.)
Changes by Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden BK 12 - (R.R.)
Blood Stones by W.V. Stott & Bavid Bussell - Dark Lakes BK 2 (N.B.)
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (N.B.)
I've seen A Court of Thorns and Roses on my #BookTok feed for ages, being touted as a mega, epic, fantastic must read. So I thought I'd give it a whirl as I do like to read non-cat books too. I'm going to try book two and then I'll let mew know my thoughts.
1. My summer bucket list includes _____________, _____________________ and ____________________.
2. ___________________ and _______________ are things you will never find in my home.
3. I’m good at keeping _________ very tidy.
4. I can’t _________ without making a mess.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. My summer bucket list includes painting the potting shed door, painting some of the fence panels and putting the finishing touches on the new veggie garden, which is looking very good right now.
2. Pesticides and slug pellets are things you will never find in my home. Those are nasty things indeed!
3. I’m good at keeping most things very tidy. The exception is #4! LOL
Today, as it's the last Friyay of the month, we're also joining in the furrbulous...
Today I thought I'd share a photo fail of yours truly, in all my epically epic rotundness from June 2018 when I was stuck, and the P.A. had to pick me up and put me back on my paws.
Seriously though, I just wanted picking up! MOL
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy
by
Mandy Morton
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
The town is gripped by a big freeze, and blizzard after blizzard has engulfed the feline community, leaving shops and businesses snowbound.
Hettie Bagshot and her sidekick, Tilly Jenkins, have found sanctuary by their fireside but soon they are bucketed into a terrifying nightmare, called to investigate the disappearance of the town’s kittens as – one by one – they are taken in the snow.
Here are the previous books in the series, that I have reviewed so far:
The Michaelmas Murders BK 5 - Review Coming Soon...
It's been quite a while since I shared a review from The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency, so this week I thought I'd share Book 8, now I know Book 5 hasn't had a review, and I think I was saving that to share last Catmas, but for reasons unknown it didn't happen, so I'll make sure that I review that before we move on to Book 9 in the future.
Mew know I do laugh out loud at some of the furbulous names the author comes up with, and I've just got to share a few: Krusty Alslopp - Preston Munch - Brothers Grump - Fluff Wither-Fork - Albertine Chop - Window Lene - Jenkin Cowdiddle.
The Ice Maid's Tail by Mandy Morton is the delightful eighth addition to The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency series. In this whimsical tale, the town is in the grip of a relentless winter, with blizzards trapping the feline community in a snowy embrace.
Hettie Bagshot and her loyal partner, Tilly Jenkins, find themselves thrust into a bone-chilling mystery as the town's kittens vanish one by one in the midst of the icy landscape. The enigmatic cats dwelling in Wither-Fork Woods and the looming prophecy of the Ice Maid's Tail weave an intriguing and captivating narrative.
The playful, witty and comedic prose, coupled with endearing characters, imbues this book with a charm that is sure to warm the hearts of all feline enthusiasts and cozy cat mystery aficionados alike. With a touch of humour and a whole lot of heart, The Ice Maid's Tail unfolds as a heartening and frost-kissed adventure, leaving readers eagerly awaiting the next escapade from The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency. And if I am honest, I can't wait to get my mittens on Book 9! MOL

I hope mew enjoy the book if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books
