Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and look what I found the other day on an old flash drive. A picture of yours truly and Miss Mildred Marbles from April 2007!
Me, with Snowie on the middle platform and Humphrey on the bottom platform hanging out in the kitchen at BBHQ. That cat tree is long gone now, though it did last quite a while.
Isn't it lovely to find old memories?
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. My favorite holiday film is _________.
2. My favorite Christmas song is _________.
3. If you ask me, 'tis the season for _________.
4. _________ is a holiday memory I'll never forget.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. My favorite holiday film is Scrooged with Bill Murray.
2. My favorite Christmas song is White Christmas by Bing Crosby.
3. If you ask me, 'tis the season for being extra kind and just being thankful for all the little things in life.
4. Opening my Magic Roundabout Playground - click to see the exact toy on ebay today - in 1973-ish is a holiday memory I'll never forget. I still have the train, Dougal, and Mr McHenry on his tricycle with Zeebedee in the back, the main playground is at my mums house in the roof, though I don't know what condition it's in because one of my (jealous) cousins took it upon himself to try and break it, he wound the train around the track the wrong way, tried to force the merry-go-round the wrong way etc... he was a little bass-turd!
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
The New Boy
(Feline Frolics Book 5)
by
Doreen Tovey
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
There’s a new kid on the block…
The Toveys are no strangers to disaster, particularly the Siamese-related kind, but when their beloved Solomon dies unexpectedly, they’re faced with a completely new type of problem – do they find another cat to replace the one they’ve lost?
The animals always win in the Tovey household. It is with the interests of Solomon’s (very audibly) grieving sister Sheba at heart that Doreen and Charles set off in search of Solomon Secundus, affectionately known as Seeley.

This weeks top book pick is another one from my monthly subscription box from Feline and Fiction, and again if I'm honest I wouldn't have chosen this myself, but that's why I have the subscription so I get exposed to reading material I'd normally overlook.
And what did I think about The New Boy, though originally written in 1970 it will in 2021 still find a place in the heart of any cat lover; funny with laugh out loud moments, and to read of living in a small village with cats and a donkey plus the antics of the locals made me think of Mewton-Clawson minus the donkey of course, but he P.A. did have two donkeys when she was younger!
This wonderful lady wrote several other books which mew know what I'm going to say, I've got them ready to order.
So if mew want to read about life in a Somerset Village pre 1980's, with siamese cats, a cast of wonderful characters and to laugh out loud, this will tick all the boxes.
Another great gift idea for any cat-a-holic!
