MidWeek News Round Up with The B Team ©BionicBasil®2022

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

We'll be sharing the winner of Fudge's epic birthday giveaway on Friday's post, so stay tuned to see if it is mew.

And mew might remember on Sunday's post we mentioned that we were transplanting a few seedlings, well we planned on watching while the P.A. did all the work and transplanting! MOL

Here's a snap of some of the self-set seedlings prior to being moved.

The Midweek News Round-up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Self Set Plants in The Courtyard
Some of the plants are tiny, like the lavender, they are not even 1 cm or 1/2 inch tall, so they have to be extracted with much care. The good news is they are now in pots or other places around the garden which we'll share next week.

First up in the news this week

Follow The Floof Some More with Fudge

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Follow The Floof with Fudge on the Roof

This week Fudge went on a sneaky covert mission to see what the neighbours were doing!

Follow the Floof Day Six

Who knows what he'll get up to next, but stay tuned for more Follow the Floof.

Next up in the news

Hanging Out In The Garden with Parsley

Parsley is such a reliable dude, he always stays in the garden and loves reclining on the mill-wheels just watching the wildlife, buglife and birdlife go by.

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Hanging Out In The Garden with Parsley

Sometimes he hides in the border, and he's completely undetectable when he goes into his full Purredator mode.

He laughed himself silly the other day as the P.A. was looking for him for an hour, and she'd walked by his hiding place half a dozen times and didn't seen him until he finally decide to uncloak and appear as if by magic in front of her.

The P.A. did mutter a couple of unspeakables as he made her really late for work.

Finally this week

Melvyn's Doing A Spot Of Burd Watching

Melvyn doesn't get out in the garden very much these days as he's a total liability. So when he does go outside he's heavily snoopervised in case he decides to take a little unauthorised trip around the village again.

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Melvyn's Doing A Spot Of Burd Watching

Anyhoo, he did enjoy his last outing a few days ago and he loved watching all the burds at the burd-feeder squabbling over the seed.

He was literally transfixed by them! MOL

BBHQ Q&A Banner ©BionicBasil®
If mew have any questions for us, about anything, ask away and we'll answer on next week's post.

Plus we'll also answer any questions left in the comments over the last few days in this section too.

Memories of Eric and Flynn asked on last week's News Round-Up:

Fudge what happened to that tuft of fur on your left shoulder, day 4?

Fudge says, "Well it's a really funny story, and if mew haven't seen the aforementioned tuft, click the day 4 link above and check it out on TikTok! Now I'll tell mew about the tuft, when I first arrived at BBHQ way, way back in the day and the P.A. released me from the carrier into the downstairs office, she noticed that same tuft sticking up and she thought it was some loose fur and tried to pull it off. It didn't come off because it is furrmly attached to my purrson. It is actually located in the centre of my back between my shoulder blades, and it has some long, whiskery strands supported by a floofy tuft, I like to think of it as a special antenna of sorts, a magical extension if mew will, anyhoo I can tell mew this it is very sensitive to touch!" MOL MOL

I hope that answers your question.

That's us done for today, though we will be back on Friday with the first Friday Fluffers of the current season, and if mew missed Monday's post click here to catch up on our epically epic 10-year blogoversary celebration!

Epic Monday Greetings Pawesome Pals

Welcome to another week at BBHQ and a furry special post.

It is exactly ten years ago today that we published our very first post from BBHQ, and although the original post was changed in 2019 and updated, the fact remains that it was the start of our cat blogging journey. And in that time we have written over 2000 posts, 2059 to be exact and that's a lot of words for a bunch of heathen cats to write.

Who knew that we'd still be writing the blog after ten years, and averaging 200 posts per year, that's a new post every 1.825 days, wow, that's some dedication!

And along the way, we've met the best peeps and cats mew could ever wish to meet in a lifetime, so not only is this a celebration of our milestone achievement, but it's also a celebration of friendship within the pet blogging community because without that community and all our wonderful epically epic readers, visitors and furiends we wouldn't have made it this far. So in essence without mew, we wouldn't be here, so thank mew furry much for your continued support and loyalty.

When the blog originally started it was just me, Basil, but then everypawdy else wanted a turn and it soon became a furmily affair.

Here is the exact text from my very first post at 20:17pm on the 27th of June 2012:

Greetings, salutations and many purrs to all my wonderful furriends in Cyberspace!

It's marvellous that my human aka Cathrine Garnell has finally given in to my constant pestering and made me my very own blog. I know that I have my own Website, FaceBook Page, MySpace Page and a myriad of other things going off, but I felt left out without having my very own blog.

You can use the links in the sidebar on the to visit me around the Interwebs, as I tend to get about a bit and you can follow my human via Twitter and Pinterest too directly from my page and if you want to follow her elsewhere, visit her blog by clicking the link below:

So here it is, my new blog on the Interwebs and I do hope that you visit often!

And here's a little tidbit that I bet mew didn't know, I didn't actually get my own purrsonal log in until the 23rd of May 2013, after the P.A. decided that I was dedicated enough to warrant one.

And then we started to write our serialised stories which began with:

Sadly the P.A. hasn't written anything since her accident in 2019 when our Mogwarts Adventure should have been serialised. She feels really guilty she hasn't been able to share anything new for so long, but maybe this is the kick up the backside she needs to make it happen.

We used to make a lot of collages for our Sunday Selfies posts.

Just trying to get new photos of The B Team each week was a job in itself! MOL

And to finish today's little celebration here's a new furmily pawtrait of all The B Team in our secret bunker at BBHQ.

The BBHQ 10 Year Blogoversary ©BionicBasil® The B Team in The Bunker

Just seeing us all in the bunker is rather inspirational and makes us want to go on an adventure!

Thanks for joining us on a trip down memory lane and we hope mew liked seeing some of the older images today.  And we can't believe how much fun stuff we saw, it's been a real treat and reminds us why we do what we do at BBHQ! MOL

We'll be back on Wednesday with another Midweek News Round-Up and the winner of Fudge's Birthday Giveaway!

Have an epically epic day

The B Team Sunday Selfies @BionicBasil ®

Epic greetings supurr furiends

Welcome to another selfie selection, and when we were looking for some special photos for tomorrow's post we came across this beautiful picture of our tuxedo Princess Posie and just had to share it again.

We also turned this fab arty-farty picture into a puzzle, so do stop by the puzzle page and take the Puzzle Challenge, see if mew can beat our time of 9 mins 24 secs.

Anyhoo it's time for us to go and snoopervise the Sunday Roast as Grampaw and Nanny are coming for lunch as they couldn't make it last Sunday for Father's Day, and after that we're going to do a spot of gardening. Well, we're not, we're going to watch the P.A. transplant all the baby catnip plants which have been growing in the gravel in the courtyard into one of the big tubs as they're big enough to move now. There are also self-set; snapdragons, aquilegia, lavender, chives, cat mint, water figwort, lupins, foxgloves and purple mullein which all need moving to new homes around the garden.

We hope mew have a totally terrific day, and look forward to your company in the morning when we're sharing a supurr special post, so do join us then.

Wishing mew lots of snoozy snuggles

Love To Read? Book Reviews with Amber at The Mewton-Clawson Library #209 featuring **Witchy Whiskers: A Nine Lives Magic Mystery 1** by Danielle Garrett PLUS Friendly Fill-Ins + Photo Fails Blog Hop AND This week's top audio freebies on Audible

Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and for my furry last review of the current season. In fact, I do feel quite sad that I won't be here every Friday to entertain mew with my ameowzing and most illustrious book picks until the autumn/fall.

And just so mew don't forget what I look like I took a special selfie today, where I actually look - not grumpy!

Also, mew may remember a couple of weeks ago when the P.A. presented me with a cute cat purrch, well it would appear that Smooch also likes the purrch! MOL

It looks like I'm going to have to have a conversation with him about purrameters, and what I'm willing to tolerate - not much! MOL

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. The grossest food  I ever ate was ___________________.
2. The best tasting food I ever had was _______________.
3. I should probably _________, but I won’t.
4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. The grossest food I ever ate was, there have been a few contenders for this but I will say Haggis, with sharks fin soup coming in as a close second. BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! And it's quite strange as the sharks fin soup was eaten at the Jumbo Floating Restaurant in Kowloon harbour Hong Kong, everything else I ate there was delicious, the soup was like dirty, grey dishwater, not my thing. And strangely enough, I just read they towed the restaurant out to sea and it sank two days ago. Click here to read the ITN News report.

2. The best-tasting food I ever had was; now we're talking, there have been so many instances of totally awesome food, my recent top two are the Japanese restaurant we visit once a month, and I know this is going to sound rather conceited, but my Sunday lunch is pretty spectacular and my favourite meal.

3. I should probably start going out more, but I won’t. And a couple of new covid variants have popped up to torment us again, so that's that!

4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would have to say heating oil for my boiler as it's more than doubled in price in the last few months, thanks RUSSIA!

Witchy Whiskers

A Nine Lives Magic Mystery 1

by

Danielle Garrett

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Have you ever wished your cat could talk to you? If so, allow my story to be your cautionary tale.

My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails.

Then Selene showed up.

According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy 10-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a sabre-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves - although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true.

*Witchy Whiskers is the first book in a brand new series by paranormal mystery author, Danielle Garrett. Grab your copy now and dive into a colorful world filled with magic, mystery, adventure, and a spark or two of romance.*

Amber's Book Review Mice Divider ©BionicBasil®

I can't believe I stumbled on this book last week when I was purrusing Audible. It popped up in the 'Listeners also enjoyed...' section underneath a book I was about to buy, which highlights other books which may be of interest.

Anyhoo, I saw this and went to the page, had a quick listen of the sample while I read the book blurb and thought, yep this is the one, THE ONE for my end-of-season review.

Now mew guys know how much I love the Mystic Notch series and Pandora the cat. Well, I think I've found a series to almost topple Mystic Notch off the Number One spot, if not at least rival it. I will have to indulge in all four books currently available in the series to make a full and unequivocal assessment, but early indications after listening to book one are quite high.

The number one reason is the cat, Selene talks to her human, and this is a really big deal for me, plus Selene is a cat after my own heart. She's fearless, feisty, sassy, out-spoken, has no filter on her mouth at all, she says exactly what she thinks without any thought at all, she's really fun and just how a cat should be.

The plot is nicely twisty, the characters are fun, and there's an element of comedy throughout mainly from Selene with her acerbic commentary. The setting of a magical town is also a fun twist, though the book is not what I would call overtly paranormal so don't be put off if the paranormal genre isn't your thing.

When I say this new series is totally top paw, it is, and I'm already on book two.

This week's top audio freebies on Audible.

Mew know I spend a lot of time purrusing various book sites looking for my next best read to share with mew, and sometimes I stumble upon freebie listens for audible members which I think mew may like.

This week's top picks are:

A Haunted Library Mystery - Books Two & Three

by

Allison Brook

These are free to audible members for a limited time.

And mew may remember that I did review book one in September last year.

Death Overdue  Book One

I will be reviewing both of the freebies when I start back in the autumn/fall.

Amber's Book Review Pink Dot Divider ©BionicBasil®

I really hope mew enjoy today's book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

Sadly, it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back before mew know it after my Summer Jolly's with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page, it will be fully updated early next week.

Until I return, have an epically epic summer and...

Keep calm and read more books
