Clive the Paperclip has emerged from the depths of Archive Level Six, declaring himself “Head of Stationery Relations.” He’s currently negotiating break times for the pens and staplers, while the fax machine prints out the minutes of each meeting (complete with paw‑print signatures).
Melvyn, ever the voice of reason, has installed two Mouse Droids as bouncers to keep the encyclopaedias from gatecrashing. The thesaurus is writing limericks about the situation, one of which rhymes “roller blades” with “library parades.”
The stationery cupboard, meanwhile, has emptied itself entirely. Pens, pencils, sticky notes, and even the highlighters have joined the festivities, forming a conga line that stretches from Aisle P to the staff kitchen.
📠 The Fax Machine’s Latest Trick
It’s now printing party itineraries and snack schedules, complete with glittery paw‑print borders. The latest sheet reads:
10:00 - Catnip cocoa tasting (mini marshmallows optional)
11:30 - Roller‑blade relay (mice only)
12:00 - Biscuit appreciation break
13:00 - Calmness meditation (optional nap)
14:30 - Karaoke: “Don’t Stop Retrieving”
The pens glow approvingly. The fax machine hums contentedly. The library is alive with laughter, light, and the faint scent of catnip cookies.
And the mice, well, see for yourselves... yep, it really is that fun! MOL
📚 A Morning of Fun & Frivolity
Me: “Melvyn, sweetie, how’s the library looking today?”
Melvyn: “Energetic. The fax machine printed a party itinerary.”
Me: “A party itinerary? For whom?”
Melvyn: “Everypawdy. Even Clive the Paperclip’s on the guest list.”
Me: “Clive? From Level Six? He hasn’t surfaced since the Great Stapler Shortage of December 2025!”
Melvyn: “He’s back and apparently leading the Stationery Union.”
Me: “Oh dear. What’s on the itinerary?”
Melvyn: “Catnip cocoa tasting, roller‑blade relay, and karaoke.”
Me: “Karaoke?”
Melvyn: “Yes. The thesaurus is performing ‘Don’t Stop Retrieving.’”
Me: “That’s… inspired.”
Melvyn: “The pens are glowing purple in support.”
Me: “They’ve unionised, haven’t they?”
Melvyn: “Completely. They’ve even mediated biscuit breaks.”
Me: “Smart. What’s the fax machine doing now?”
Melvyn: “Printing motivational posters. One says, ‘Mew can do it!’ Another says, 'Go Faster!'”
Me: “I love it. The library’s never been so lively.”
Melvyn: “It’s officially our fun era.”
Me: “Then let’s embrace it. Want to join the roller‑blade relay?”
Melvyn: “Only if there’s catnip cocoa at the finish line.”
Me: “Always. I'll meet mew at the finish line, I'll be on my meditation cushion.”
Melvyn: "Napping or meditating?"
Me: "Drinking cocoa and waiting for mew to break the current record of how fast a librarian can roller-blade around the library!"
📚 General Library Status Update
Happy roller‑blading mice Happy party vibes Happy fax machine (now event coordinator) Happy pens (glowing purple in solidarity) Happy thesaurus (singing karaoke classics)
In short:
The library is calm. Joyfully calm. Calm with a faint whiff of primo catnip, cocoa, and glitter‑infused triumph.
And honestly? I’m ecstatic.
So, my meowvellous library guests, if mew spot roller‑blading mice or purple‑glowing pens zipping past the main desk, don’t worry, it’s simply the library celebrating its newfound sense of fun.
Probably.
Now, let’s see what this week’s top book pick is!

1. Have you ever noticed how the moon pops up in all the wrong places at all the wrong times?
2. Would you choose endless snacks or endless naps?
3. Do you think it’s possible to terraform Mars?
4. What bunker upgrade would you recommend for The B Team? They’re planning an expansion, and I’ve been asked to gather… suggestions! LOL
🐾 This Week’s Paw‑Approved Pick: The Cat Who Sniffed Glue
Dahlings, gather round and twitch those whiskers, because this week we’re heading back to Pickax, where the snow is deep, the gossip is deeper, and Koko’s whiskers are tingling with trouble, as is Qwill's moustache! MOL
The Cat Who Sniffed Glue is classic Braun: warm, witty, and sprinkled with just enough danger to make your tail puff just a touch.
❓ What’s the Vibe
A cozy crime with small‑town charm, eccentric locals, and a mystery that creeps up on you like a cat on silent paws.
Expect:
quirky charactersa double murder
a dash of vandalism
and Koko being an absolute furry genius
It’s comfort reading with claws.
🐾 What’s the Story?
Pickax has been enjoying its usual sedate calm, the kind only a small town full of nosy neighbours can maintain, when a string of petty vandalism begins to ruffle the community’s fur. Paint splashed here, a bit of mischief there… nothing too serious.
Until it is.
Young banker Harley Fitch and his new bride, Bella, are found murdered, and suddenly the quiet town is buzzing like a startled beehive. Qwilleran’s moustache twitches (always a sign), and Koko becomes obsessed with glue, books, and anything remotely sticky.
Coincidence? Of course not. Koko never does anything by accident.
As Qwill digs deeper, he uncovers a tangle of secrets involving:
a soft‑spoken librarian with musty old books⚔️ What I Loved
✨ Tone & Style
clever
gently humorous
lightly suspenseful
purrfect for snuggling up on a comfy sofa with a nice cuppa - my preference catnip, of course
Braun’s writing is like a warm blanket: soft, familiar, and always welcome
📖 Final Thoughts
The Cat Who Sniffed Glue is a delightful entry in the series, not the darkest mystery, but one of the most charming. The murders are intriguing, the clues are satisfying, and Koko is in top form, proving once again that no crime is too sticky for a determined Siamese.
If mew love cozy mysteries with feline flair, quirky characters, and a plot that unfolds at just the right pace, this is a purrfect pick.
🪄 Summed Up in One Sentence
🐾 A witty, warm, and wonderfully sticky mystery where Koko’s instincts shine, and Pickax’s secrets unravel. 🐾
A Top Paw Read!

We absolutely love the book. But we are laughing about mice on rollerblades! And doesn't Smooch look fantastic in the catnip Bowl.
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, Lynn! 😸💗 We’re thrilled mew love the book, it’s such a fun one, and Koko is in top form!
DeleteAnd MOL yes, the rollerblading mice have absolutely taken over the library this week… they’re zipping around like tiny furry Olympians on wheels 🎉🛼🐭
As for Smooch, he insists he was professionally snoopervising the catnip bowl, but we all know he just wanted a cosy snooze spot 😹🌿💚
Happy Chewsday to mew and sweet Precious!
Cannot imagine what else the Bunker needs that you all haven't already added.
ReplyDeleteA spa for pawdicures and a fur blow-out?
MOL! Honestly, we thought the bunker had everything too… until the B Team started making a list 😹🛠️
DeleteA spa, though? Oh mew’ve just given them IDEAS.
I can already hear them planning:
✨ Pawdicure Parlour
✨ Fur‑Fluff & Blow‑Out Suite
✨ Whisker‑Shaping Station
✨ Catnip‑Infused Steam Room
And mew know Smooch will demand a “Mud Bath of Destiny” which is really just him rolling in the garden again 😹🌿
At this rate, the bunker will be a full‑service luxury retreat by summer!
Such an active and motivated library! The Braun book sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, Leah! 😸💗 The library has never been this lively, between the rollerblading mice, the glowing pens, and the fax machine acting like an event planner, it’s basically a full‑time party in the stacks! MOL 🛼📚✨
DeleteAnd yes, the Braun book is a fantastic one, cosy, clever, and just the right amount of mysterious. Koko is in absolute genius mode in this instalment! 🐾🔍💙
Happy Chewsday from all of us at BBHQ!
Smooch looks so comfy there! Half alseep and fully gorgeous :-D
ReplyDeleteAwww thank mew, Ananka! 😸💗 Smooch really does know how to make himself maximum comfy, half asleep, half squished, and fully convinced he’s doing Very Impawtant Catnip‑Warming Work 😹🌿💚
DeleteHe says meauty sleep hits different when taken in a planter! MOL MOL
Smooch, nothing wrong with keeping the nip warm! And that is one title I haven't read yet from Braun. Good thing I read the review Amber, because the title would have put me off!
ReplyDeleteMOL Katie, Smooch says thank mew for understanding the vital impawtance of keeping the nip warm, he considers it a public service and a highly specialised skill 😹🌿💚
DeleteAnd we’re so glad mew didn’t skip the book! The title does sound a bit wild, but it’s a fab cozy mystery once mew get past the gluey implications!!! MOL 😸📚✨
Mice on rollerblades? I hope they also have helmets and pads (safety first).
ReplyDeleteMy answers, No, I don’t get out much after dark to see the moon as I’m up and going to work before dawn, endless naps as sometimes I can’t sleep and need to and the snacks would make me fat again, I hope so, and how about expanding with an arcade/trampoline/ax throwing/rock climbing type game and entertainment center.
The book sounds wonderful and thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
Mimi, mew are absolutely right, safety first for the rollerblading mice! 😹🛼🐭 We’ve suggested helmets, knee pads, and possibly tiny reflective vests… but they said it “clashes with their aesthetic.” Typical artists.
DeleteWe loved your fill‑ins!
🎮 And an arcade/trampoline/axe‑throwing/rock‑climbing expansion? The B Team would lose their MINDS. Melvyn would live in the arcade, Smooch would dominate axe‑throwing, and Parsley would absolutely scale the rock wall like a ninja 😸🔥
Amber is thrilled mew enjoyed the review, it’s such a fun book! And thank mew for hosting Feline Friday!!! 💗🐾
Love that photo, Smooch! Those mice are just too adorable. Catnip cocoa sounds delish!
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, Melissa! 😸💗 Smooch is absolutely living for all the attention, he says the catnip bowl was “exceptionally ergonomic” that day and purrfect for a mid‑gardening snooze 😹🌿💚
DeleteAnd yes, the rollerblading mice have reached peak adorableness, they’re basically running their own tiny fitness club in Aisle F now 🛼🐭✨
Catnip cocoa, though… chef’s kiss 😻☕🌿 Amber says it’s the official drink of the Fun Era at the library!!! MOL
Such a fun post! Those were good fill-in answers and an amazing book review too sweet Amber! Love those skating mice!
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, guys! 😸💗 Amber is absolutely glowing with pride, she loves it when her reviews get paws‑up approval!
DeleteThe fill‑ins were extra fun this week, and those roller‑skating mice… well, they’ve basically taken over Aisles P & F and declared it their personal training rink 🛼🐭✨
We’re thrilled mew enjoyed the post, sending big purrs to all of mew at Brian’s Home! 🐾💞
That sounds like some fax machine. I love the roller skating mice. Nice review Amber. That looks like a good book. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great questions. Here are my answers: 1. No, 2. Naps. 3. No. 4. AN extra large library. :) Cute shot of Smooch. XO
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, Ellen! 😸💗 The fax machine has truly entered its chaotic genius era, we’re half convinced it’s going to start printing pawty invitations for the entire village next MOL 📠✨
DeleteThe roller‑skating mice are having the time of their little lives too… they’ve even started practising synchronised routines in Aisle P 🛼🐭💃
Amber says thank mew kindly for the lovely words, she adored rereading this book, and it’s such a fun instalment in the series 📚💖
We loved your fill‑ins!
No - fair enough!
Naps - always the superior choice 😴
No - totally valid!
An extra‑large library - The B Team wholeheartedly approves of this suggestion 😹📚📚📚
And Smooch says thank mew for admiring his “botanical lounging technique” 🌿😹 XO
I am glad the library is still mostly calm, but has a fun element too with the parties. It sounds like the calm is balancing on the edge! Love the photo of Smooch in the nip.
ReplyDeleteI have certainly noticed the moon seems to have turned rogue as to where it appears in the sky! The Other night I looked out and it was high above me. The next night about the same time when I looked out it was hiding behind the tree up on the corner of the lane. How can it make such a drastic change in 24 hours?
Good review, Amber. That sounds like a good book.
Thank mew so much! 😸💗 The library is indeed mostly calm… but mew’re absolutely right, the calm is definitely wobbling on the edge of full‑blown stationery‑led chaos!! MOL 📚✨ Between the rollerblading mice, the glowing pens, and the fax machine acting like a pawty planner, we’re one glittery sneeze away from mayhem!
DeleteSmooch says thank mew for admiring his nip‑nesting skills, he maintains it was “vital horticultural support” and not just a comfy snooze spot 😹🌿💚
And YES, the moon has gone completely rogue lately! One night it’s overhead like a spotlight, the next it’s hiding behind a tree like it’s playing cosmic peek‑a‑boo. It’s very suspicious behaviour for a celestial body 🌙😼
So happy to hear there's calm and some fun and excitement in the library. Great book definitely deserves a re-read. Smooch what can we say best place to sit.😽
ReplyDeleteThank mew so much, Christine! 😸💗 We’re delighted the library’s current mix of calm‑with‑a‑side‑of‑chaos is bringing mew joy, the stationery uprising has definitely added some unexpected sparkle to the week!! MOL 📚✨
DeleteAnd yes, this book is absolutely worth a re‑read, Amber had such a fun time revisiting it! 🐾🔍
As for Smooch… well, he always finds the best (and most questionable) places to sit. Comfort is an art form, apparently 😹🌿💚
