Hello meautiful library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and as mew may have heard already, if mew read the Midweek News, the weather has been pretty lacklustre the last few days, so I've been snoozing and snuggling more, as mew can see below, when I was using the P.A. as a pillow! It was a very comfy spot! MOL
It has been a bit quiet this week, as the Library Mice have been in charge of the annual library deep clean, and then an inventory check, so I left them to it, like a good Head Librarian does! MOL
And now, let me get mew up to speed with the latest in the Prudence saga, and mew won't believe what happens in this episode. If mew missed last week's installment, click here.

Hissy and I exchanged wide-eyed glances, the note from Willie burning in our paws. The shed was empty, her handbag left behind—but she had clearly vanished.
I felt my fur prickle. Don’t trust the obvious? What in the fluff did she mean?
Suddenly, the distant sound of laughter and clinking glasses reminded me that the party was happening right now. Clawdia was basking in her triumph. Muskulls was probably securing the final pieces of his con. And somewhere—somewhere Willie had gone missing.
“We need to move,” I whispered, tucking the note into my satchel. “The longer we stand here, the harder it’ll be to find her.”
Hissy nodded, ears swivelling as she scanned the area. “Agreed, but where do we even start?”
I thought for a moment, then my eyes narrowed. “If Clawdia and Muskulls know we’re onto them, they might have hidden Willie to prevent her from interfering. But what if...”
I hesitated.
“What if Willie’s hiding herself?”
Hissy sucked in a breath. “Mew think she knew things were getting dangerous and disappeared on purpose?”
“It makes sense,” I said, flicking my tail. “She knew bad stuff about Muskulls before Prudence did. And she must have known they’d come after her if she tried to stop the wedding.” I motioned to the note. “She wanted us to question everything, even what looks obvious.”
Hissy’s tail flicked. “So we’re hunting down two mysteries at once. The real reason for Willie’s disappearance and the truth about Clawdia and Muskulls.”
Just then, we heard a sudden commotion from the marquee. The music had stopped.
Gasps. Shouts. Someone had knocked over a champagne tower, sending a cascade of glittering liquid and shattered glass spilling across the dance floor.
We ran toward the noise, weaving through the growing crowd. And then we saw her, Prudence, standing at the centre of the chaos, shaking.
Her pupils were dilated, her paws trembling, and her voice low and haunted echoed through the stunned guests.
“I… remember,” she whispered.
Muskulls stepped forward hastily, his practised charm cracking. “Darling, mew’ve had too much to drink. Sit down.”
Prudence snapped her head toward him, eyes blazing.
“No.” Her voice was clear now, strong. “Mew lied to me. Mew drugged me.”
The entire crowd fell silent.
Clawdia took a delicate step forward, eyes calculating. “Sweetie, mew sound so distressed, perhaps...”
“I remember everything.” Prudence snapped, glaring at Muskulls and Clawdia.
Hissy and I exchanged sharp glances. This was huge. Something in Prudence had clicked.
I took a deep breath. “We have to act now. Before Muskulls tries to twist this back in his favour.”
Hissy nodded. “And before Clawdia silences her for good.”

Until next week's revelations, when mew won't believe happened next; I was even stunned!
1. I have trouble pronouncing ___________________.
2. I tend to confuse _____________ with _______________.
3. I quit _________ because _________.
4. Currently, I can’t get ________ out of my mind.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I have trouble pronouncing ___________________. I used to have real trouble with 'phenomenon' or similar, but in all honesty, I can fluff most words up these days! LOL
2. I tend to confuse geraniums with pelargoniums. I can easily confuse many things at this point in my life, but it's ok, I know what I'm talking about, so that's all that matters!
3. I quit the gym because I detest with a passion, how many persons are now videoing everything for social media and YouTube. Fluff that, I went to the gym to train and destress, but now it's like fluffing a movie set, and I don't want to be in anyone's video. So until I can find a normal gym which doesn't allow random people to video everything, I train at home.
4. Currently, I can’t get my latest story out of my mind. I'm finishing a book I started writing many years ago, and it's an all-consuming vibe. I even wake up in the night and it's my first thought... yep, hardcore! LOL
As it's the last Friday of the month, we're also joining in the furbulous...
This was from the 2020 archive, and don't ask me whether Melvyn was laughing or shouting, or yawning, as at this angle I can't be sure! MOL
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!

Tricky Treating
Twilight Hollow Witchy Cozy Mysteries Book 3
by
Sara Christene
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Costumes, corpses, and an unstoppable curse!
Spooky season has officially arrived in Twilight Hollow. Can Adelaide and her familiar solve another murder when nothing is as it seems?
When a witch is killed in a ritualistic fashion, detective Logan White has no choice but to involve Addy in yet another murder investigation. Unfortunately, she already has plenty of her own problems to worry about. Halloween is in three days, and the veil to the spirit world is thinning.
Well, last week I did Catmas, so this week I thought, what the fluff, let's do an early Halloween! Mew never know what might be next week, perhaps next year's Easter! MOL
Plus, it's been a while since I visited this fun series, and if mew missed my previous reviews, here are the links:
If mew're in the mood for a dash of early Halloween witches, a sprinkle of murder, and a whole lot of cozy chaos, then Tricky Treating Twilight Hollow is just the treat mew need right now! The third instalment of the Twilight Hollow Cozy Mysteries delivers a thrilling tale that will keep mew guessing until the very last page.
The story starts with the purrfect autumn atmosphere, as Twilight Hollow fully embraces its spooky season. Adelaide and her quirky familiar are once again thrown into the midst of a mysterious murder. This time, the stakes feel higher than ever with Halloween only days away and the veil between the living and the dead growing dangerously thin. The uncertainty is palpable, and each page turn pulls mew deeper into a web of dark magic and sinister plots.
Addy's journey is filled with all the classic cozy mystery essentials: engaging characters, clever twists and turns. Plus, the introduction of new characters and the revolving door of suspects adds an exciting layer of intrigue that keeps mew on your toes. Just when mew think mew’ve figured it all out, a curveball is tossed into the mix that leads you down another path.
The story seamlessly blends witchy elements with mystery. A magical backdrop is beautifully woven into the narrative, making it not just a setting but an essential part of the plot. Whether it's the supernatural community dynamics or the challenges of navigating dark magic, it all feels authentically tied to the heart of Twilight Hollow.
This is a delightful read that captures the essence of cosiness amidst chaos. Purrfect for snuggling up with a cup of your favourite catnip brew, and if mew are a cozy cat mystery lover and looking to dive into a whimsical world of magic, then this is definitely worth a read.
So grab your comfy blanket, settle in, and prepare for a thrilling ride through Twilight Hollow, mew won’t want to miss a moment of this furbulous mystery!
There are ten books in the series at the moment, and if mew are subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, the first eight are available in the catalogue to read for free, and if mew have Audible, they are available to listen for the cost of one member credit each. (Info correct at time of posting.)
