Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks for this surprise review. Now mew may be wondering why there is a surprise review today? It is really very simple; Auwnty Ellen from the epically epic blog 15 and Meowing, asked if I would do a special review on her birthday, and I was utterly delighted to do so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUWNTY ELLEN

Basil & The B Team Birthday Card @BionicBasil®

So I've been listening to and reading lots of cat books in the last few weeks since my final review in June, as I wanted to share something really fun with a kitty character who has a lot of catitude and really stands out. Plus I wanted a novel that is part of a series, so mew get to experience more of said kitty character, and after much searching, I've found the purrfect book and series to share in honour of this special day.

Auwnty Ellen, this book is for mew!

And I hope your day is just utterly magical!

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I think _______________ is a waste of money.
2. Lately, I spend a lot of time ______________________.
3. _________ is the craziest thing on my bucket list.
4. _________ is a holiday that I’d like to create or see more celebrated.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I think an awful lot of things are a total waste of money. But then what I think is a waste or unnecessary, someone else may feel an intrinsic value for the same thing, so it's all subjective in the moment. But I will say that fast fashion is a waste, and horrendously bad for the planet too.

2. Lately, I spend a lot of time working, writing the blog, catching up on jobs and looking after my gorgeous kitties who need a lot of attention. And painting outdoors, weather permitting! LOL

3. _________ is the craziest thing on my bucket list. To be honest, I don't have a bucket list. I've never subscribed to that school of thought. If things happen and I experience stuff/different places then great, and if I don't, then so be it. It is what it is, and there's never any disappointment.

4. _________ is a holiday that I’d like to create or see more celebrated. I'm not much of a holiday person, I like Halloween the best. I can't think of anything I'd like to create and celebrate other than a Basil Day, which we celebrate at BBHQ anyway.

Starfell: Willow Moss and the Lost Day

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Willow Moss, the youngest and least powerful sister in a family of witches, has a magical ability for finding lost things - like keys, or socks, or wooden teeth. Useful, but not exactly exciting...

Then the most powerful witch in the world of Starfell turns up at Willow’s door and asks for her help. A whole day - last Tuesday to be precise - has gone missing. Completely. And, without it, the whole universe could unravel.

What a supurr book full of magic, mayhem and oodles of excitement.

The plot and story are very well crafted and topped off with a highly memorable cast of characters; my favourite being Oswin, who is a Kobold or a magical type of cat creature, although Oswin vehemently denies being any kind of cat.

Oswin also happens to explode when he gets angry or upset. He is hilarious, albeit in a humourous sarcastic vein, and in the audiobook, the narrator really captures his essence superbly. I think the audio version works far better than reading a hard copy in this instance.

There are oodles of magical creatures and people throughout the adventure, some who play more significant roles than others, and some that come back in future books too.

This is one of those series that is totally top paw, and the characters just keep getting better as they develop.

I will review books two, three and four when I'm back in the autumn/fall. But in the meantime, if mew're looking for a fun summer read with humour, action and adventure, try this, as I'm sure it will be purrfect.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back in late September or early October but don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books
