Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends

Welcome to the start of another fun-packed week at BBHQ, and today we're continuing our crystal journey today, and this week, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Sally asked us; what is Sunstone good for?

Crystal of The Week

&

What is sunstone good for?

Sunstone is a beautiful crystal in varying tones of yellows, oranges and browns. It can be an opaque or a translucent stone, and is usually filled with little white iridescent flashes as mew move it in the light; similar to labradorite stones, although no quite as showy.

They come in polished tumbled stones or raw unpolished specimens, either are lovely.Colouring with Cats ©BionicBasil® #123 Crystal of The Week - Sunstone

We have a beautiful large palm stone and a couple of smaller polished tumbles at BBHQ, and Melvyn did make us laugh as it was quite a cold day when we took this picture and he said, "If it's a sunstone, then it must be warm so I'll just snuggle in bed with it and stay warm."  And that's the last we saw of it for a while!  Anyhoo, let's hop right in and tell mew a little about the gem lore surrounding these stunning crystals. These crystals have a lovely energy to them and supposedly bring more joy into your life, so the name is really fitting, as when the sun shines we all feel better.

It is purrportedly a crystal that assists in heightening intuition and aids in allowing the true self to shine brightly. So if mew're in need of a little confidence boost, this may help.

Sunstone as its name suggests is said to be a great facilitator to connect to all things light and spiritual; including being a supurr cleanser of the light body and aura, it is suggested that it can clear all the chakra's, so can be placed on all chakra points with equal success. And if mew're looking for a specific chakra point; the solar plexus would be a great one to start with, and that's found between the ribcage and belly button.

In other texts we've read, it said it's a really good stone for facilitating self-empowerment and adding strength and self-sufficiency to your life. So if mew feel these are areas that mew need to wurk on, this could be the stone for mew.

Another supposedly beneficial attribute is that it can aid in lifting a low mood, especially during the winter months, when sunlight is in short supply and can encourage a more pawstive or optimistic approach to things, increasing interest or enthusiasm where there's a lack.

All in all this a superb crystal for bringing a lightness, vitality and feel-good factor into your home and purrsonal space, and if mew're looking for a great crystal to meditate with, this is one of them.

Mew can also get lovely jewellery made from sunstone; the P.A. did purchase a couple of unset sunstones on one of her trips to Peru, and she had them set into earrings. She's been meaning to buy some faceted beads as she'd like to make a bracelet.

If mew're looking for an uplifting stone to add to your collection, this would be a purrfect addition.

Many thanks for emailing us Sally, and we hope that answered your question.
