Supurr Monday greetings, meautiful furiends
Welcome to the start of another fun-packed week at BBHQ. Today, we're continuing our crystal journey, and we've got a lovely gemstone to share, as we were asked: What is Sunstone good for?
Crystal of The Week

What is sunstone good for?
Sunstone is a meautiful crystal in varying tones of yellow, orange and brown. It can be an opaque or a translucent stone, and is usually filled with little white iridescent flashes as mew move it in the light; similar to labradorite stones, although not quite as showy.
We have a pawesome palm stone and a couple of smaller polished tumbles at BBHQ, and Melvyn did make us laugh as it was quite a cold day when we took this picture, and he said, "If it's a sunstone, then it must be warm, so I'll just snuggle in bed with it and absorb the heat!"
And that's the last we saw of it for a while! MOL
Anyhoo, let's hop right in and tell mew a little about the gem lore surrounding these stunning crystals. These stones have a lovely energy and are supposedly meant to bring more joy into your life, so the name is really fitting, as when the sun shines, we all feel better.
So what does this sparkly gem actually do?
Sunstone is said to support:
Joy & optimism
Confidence & self‑expression
Intuition
Chakra cleansing
Seasonal mood uplift
It is purrportedly a crystal that heightens intuition and allows the true self to shine brightly. So if mew're in need of a little confidence boost, this may help.
Sunstone, as its name suggests, is said to be a great facilitator to connect to all things light and spiritual; including being a supurr cleanser of the light body and aura, it is suggested that it can clear all the chakras, so it can be placed on all chakra points with equal success. And if mew're looking for a specific chakra point, the solar plexus would be a great one to start with, and that's found between the ribcage and belly button.
In other texts we've read, it's said to be a really good stone for facilitating self-empowerment and adding strength and self-sufficiency to your life. So if mew feel these are areas that mew need to work on, this could be the stone for mew.
Another supposedly beneficial attribute is that it can aid in lifting a low mood, especially during the winter months, when sunlight is in short supply and can encourage a more pawstive or optimistic approach to things, increasing interest or enthusiasm where there's a lack.
All in all, this is a superb crystal for bringing a lightness, vitality and feel-good factor into your home and purrsonal space, and if mew're looking for a great crystal to meditate with, this is one of them.
Mew can also have lovely jewellery made from sunstone; the P.A. purchased a couple of unset sunstones on one of her trips to Peru and had them set into earrings. She also got some faceted beads to make a bracelet, then she got some moonstone and made a combo bracelet, which she wears most days.
How to Use Sunstone
Carry in pocket
Place on the solar plexus
Use in meditation
Wear as jewellery
If mew're looking for an uplifting stone to add to your collection, this would be a purrfect addition.

We hope that mew're ready for the week ahead, so let's jump right in and start as always with our little breathing exercise, which we're sure mew all have down paw by now... but if mew've forgotten, stop what mew're doing for a moment and take deep, fulfilling breaths; counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale:
Breathe in
Breathe out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Smooch is here again to offer mew assistance in getting your OM's on and Zen Harmonies happening, so just press play, close your eyes and follow his instructions.

And here's our finished version... we really liked the aqua tones, paired with the pinky-berry shades. We think it looks purretty cool.

So on that note, we'll say bye for now and look forward to mew stopping by on Wednesday when we're back with our Midweek News Round-Up.
