Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends

Welcome to another pawesome week at BBHQ and today we're continuing our crystal journey, and this week, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Karen asked us; what is clear quartz good for?

Crystal of The Week

&

What is clear quartz good for?

Clear quartz is the next best thing to diamonds in our humble opinion; some can be completely transparent with the most exquisite rainbows inside and refract the light in beautiful prisms, other clear quartz can milky with striations through the crystal, there is no hard and fast rule to how it should look.  Some specimens can be quite opaque and cloudy, while others are completely translucent and flawless and look like ice.

We have quite a few different clear quartz crystals at BBHQ, from small polished tumbled stones to clusters, obelisks and there is one flame, like the Smoky quartz we shared a few weeks ago, only this one is quite a bit smaller. Take a look at a few in our collection, as being investigated by Fudge and Melvyn.

Let's hop right in and tell mew a little about the gem lore surrounding these lovely crystals. Quartz is appurrently known as one of the master healers and is a powerful energy amplifier. It purportedly helps cleanse the body and assists in enhancing purrsonal healing, plus raising energy levels. It can supposedly act to restore the aura and subtle bodies as it deeply cleanses on all planes.

In some texts we've purrused, it is suggested that clear quartz is a pawesome stone to use in meditation, as it helps still the mind, aids in concentration and assists in finding focus, plus helps to attune mew to your spiritual self. It's a superb stone for channelling too.

And if mew remember all Fortune Tellers of old used to have a large clear quartz sphere; though the one Melvyn is gazing into today is quite special as the natural internal formation is split into quarters and it's filled with the most amazing rainbows. In fact, it's one of our favourite pieces of quartz!

Mandalas on Monday ©BionicBasil® Colouring With Cats Mandala #120 Clear Quartz - Crystal Gazing with Melvyn

If mew were to ask us if there's one crystal to have what is it, we'd reply clear quartz every time. It really is one of the best stones to have, and it can be used on any of the chakra points. The P.A. has lots of small quartz points that she places around her in a circle when she's feeling listless. She always seems to feel better after being in a crystal circle for a while; whether that's a real effect or purrceived effect from using crystals is undeterminable. But in our opinion it doesn't really matter; the point is if it makes mew feel better mentally and physically that's a result.

There are also lots of different coloured quartz crystals that each have additional properties to the generic clear variety. And just to name a few, there are; blue, golden, harlequin, tangerine, rainbow, green etc...

Plus, there are many treated and enhanced quartz stones, and these can be coated with gold, silver, titanium or copper which are fired at intense heat to create the most dazzling effects. Some can look extremely bright and sometimes quite garish. Others have subtle rainbow/prismatic effects that are often referred to as Aura colours. Such as Angel Aura, which is an iridescent milky white with a gorgeous rainbow effect, or Aqua Aura, which has the same rainbow effect but is a bright turquoise colour, and each of these coated stones have additional properties to the generic ones above. Some of the coated stones are really quite pretty, and if mew are drawn to bright colours mew'll love these, we have lots of different ones at BBHQ, the P.A. is a bit of a magpie - OOPS! If mew'd like a post to see some of the coated quartz's let us know in the comments.

Anyhoo, we'd better wrap this up as we could go on for hours, so if mew're looking a crystal that does the lot mew can't get better than a clear quartz, from the info we've read this is the top crystal to have in your collection. And don't forget that there's oodles of jewellery made from this gorgeous stone too.

Many thanks for emailing us Karen, and we hope that answered your question.

Love To Colour? Colouring with Cats #138 ~ Getting Your OM’s on with Mandalas on Mondays ~ Crystal of the Week PLUS **Your Crystal Questions Answered** What Is Lapis Lazuli Good For?

Turquoise Mandalas on Mondays Banner 2020 ©BionicBasil® getting your Om's on and unleash Your Zen Harmonies

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends

Welcome back to Colouring with Cats, we know that we've had a bit of a break since Catmas when we ran our epically epic adventure story Fast, Furry and Dangerous again. And we'll be alternating each Monday between Mandalas and Brain Training until the end of Spring.

We're continuing our crystal journey today, and this week, we've got a lovely gemstone to share today.

Crystal of The Week

&

What is Lapis Lazuli  good for?

Lapis Lazuli is a stunningly rich, deep blue stone and can be flecked with gold and/or white and black. It can have a veined appearance or slightly mottled effect depending on each individual stone.
Colouring with Cats #138©BionicBasil® Crystal of The Week - Lapis Lazuli

At BBHQ we have several pieces of lapis, and here is our newest acquisition which was acquired a few weeks ago when the P.A. visited a gem show nearby. The P.A. really liked this stone as it reminded her of a sandy beach and deep blue ocean.

Mandalas on Monday #136 ©BionicBasil® Melvyn Checks Out The Lapis Lazuli

Here's a little about the gem lore for lapis lazuli; being a blue stone it is ideal for the throat chakra, although it is reputed to be excellent for opening the third eye chakra which is located mid-eyebrows and up a tad. It is said to facilitate psychic abilities, enhance dream work and assists in stimulating spiritual power.

Apparently, it is renowned for its protective properties and can assist against psychic attacks, and no the P.A didn't have many crystals back in the day when she experienced a ghostly encounter.

It is also said to harmonise and balance the spiritual, emotional and physical planes to create uplifted feelings. It can facilitate freer expression of words and thought, if used on the throat chakra, and helps with creativity. So if mew're struggling with any blocks in those areas this may be a crystal to try.

Lapis is a supurr crystal and there is loads more info online to discover regarding the various healing and beneficial properties. And there are lots of different jewellery designs available such as rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings etc.

Love To Colour? Colouring with Cats #136 ~ Getting Your OM’s on with Mandalas on Mondays ~ Crystal of the Week PLUS **Your Crystal Questions Answered** What Is Black Tourmaline Good For?

Turquoise Mandalas on Mondays Banner 2020 ©BionicBasil® getting your Om's on and unleash Your Zen Harmonies

Supurr Tuesday greetings beautiful furiends

Many apologies for missing Monday, mew know how much we love starting the week with mew all, anyhoo remember that we got the computer hard drive and RAM upgraded a couple of weeks ago, and everything was running epically epic? Well, we had a little technical failure on Caturday, no not the computer, the monitors decided to go on the fritz and stop working. OH DEAR!  So we had to get new monitors, which spoiled our mood tremendously as mew can imagine, and we couldn't get the same ones as they're 10+ years old and Philips don't make that model anymore. The good news is we're back up and running, and the bad news is, we weren't impressed at having to purchase new monitors, but so it goes, and we did have the others for a very long time.

Let's get started on our crystal journey today, and we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Pippa asked us; what is black tourmaline good for?

Crystal of The Week

Black Tourmaline Properties

Tourmaline comes in a variety of colours; blue, pink, yellow, brown, watermelon green/pink, red, bluey-green and black.

Its natural composition is made up of long striations and it has a hexagonal structure, see pic below. It's a very tactile stone, and they can be polished aka shiny, they can be opaque and some can even be translucent.
Colouring with Cats #136 ©BionicBasil® Crystal of The Week - Black Tourmaline

At BBHQ we have some smaller polished tumblestones, and the P.A. keeps quite a large chunk on her bedside table, by large chunk we mean about 3-4" long by 2" wide or 7.6-10.16 cm x 5.08 cm.

Fudge really liked the new piece of tourmaline, which we showed last week - see link below.

Mandalas on Monday #136 ©BionicBasil®Fudge Checks Out The Black Tourmaline

Here's a little about the gem lore for black tourmaline: It's reported to be an excellent cleanser of negativity, and apparently it is a highly protective stone and can form a protective aura or shield around the body. It is also purported to be an excellent purifier and is able to dissipate heavy and murky energies, transmuting them into lighter and higher vibrations.

A great stone for clearing/cleansing the aura, removing negative energy and assisting in dispelling any blockages, and if mew read about the shungite and orgonite, black tourmaline is also very good for protection against EMF's and electromagnetic smog in and around the home, and will assist with protection against the harmful radiation emitted by electronic devices.

It can be used on the root or base chakra for crystal healing, as it is a superb stone for grounding, so if mew feel a little airy-fairy, this could be one to try.

Black tourmaline is also reputed to alleviate stress, tension and promote more confidence and feelings of positivity, creating a more rational attitude and assists with creativity.

There's oodles more info on this gorgeous crystal, just google it to find the full list of properties.

There are some lovely jewellery pieces available, so if mew feel drawn to this is crystal mew can wear it close to your body for the full effect. The P.A. has a lovely pendant which she wears, especially if she's going to busy places, as she always comes back feeling drained and tired when near lots of people, she has found that when wearing the tourmaline, it lessens the tiredness/exhaustion.

Many thanks for DMing us Pippa, and we hope that answered your question.

If mew have any crystal questions; email us, DM us or ask us in the comments below.
