Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and if mew were here for our Midweek News Round-Up, mew'll know that it's still pretty cold in Mewton-Clawson this week.

So I got myself in front of the fire, to get some massive warms happening and then Fudge came racing in with Melvyn and they proceeded to fling rather a lot of toys around the sitting room.

Some of which ended up within reach of my deadly murder mittens. So I dutifully gave the large, green pom pom a damn good seeing to and left its woolley entrails all over the rug as evidence.

The P.A. was not impressed with my wanton destruction and said, "Amber, it took me ages to make that fluffy pom pom!" This bold declaration was followed by a really loud TUT, yes she actually TUTTED me! I know, I can't quite believe either, the utter nerve of it.

So I murdered the pom pom some more when she left the room! MOL

And the moral of the story, never TUT me.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I waste a lot of time thinking about stuff; whether that be plot lines, blog posts, books, works in progress, to-do lists etc... in fact it could be anything. I don't think it's a waste of time to think about think about stuff, though some peeps might disagree with me! LOL

2. At this very moment, I'm craving treacle pudding with custard.

3. Don't run until you can walk.

Cat Got Your Cash

The Kitty Couture Mysteries, Book 2

by

Julie Chase

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Lacy Marie Crocker's whimsical pet couture has gained a following in New Orleans' cozy Garden District, and word of mouth has travelled all the way to her favourite fashion designer, Annie Lane. Lacy is thrilled when Annie schedules a private session at her home to discuss a companion line for her evening wear, but when Lacy arrives for the appointment, she enters the kitchen to two mewling Siamese cats - and one very dead Annie.

Lacy takes the kittens home to care for them until they can be properly claimed by Annie's family or friends, but after a busy day of work, she returns home to find them missing. And when Lacy learns the cats are set to inherit Annie's fortune, she begins to wonder if the killer was after the kittens all along.

I reviewed book one in this series way, way back in 2019, and after just reading my post, I realise I said I'd review this book sooner! OOPS! MOL

Anyhoo, better late than never as obviously other books took priority, but here we are today.

I did prefer this to the first one, as in the former I was expecting more cat action, but there was very little, although it was an enjoyable book. In this one, we barely get out of the starting gates, and there are cats present, so a huge plus. Although they are not talking cats, they're just cat cats!

I think the author has really got in her stride with this book. The plot is nicely twisty, the characters and setting really begin to flourish, and it has a touch of comedy. It's a proper feel-good cozy mystery, and I will certainly be listening to the rest of the series much sooner.

There are four available in the series right now, and if mew're an Audible customer, they are all included for free within your membership on the UK site. I'm not sure about other territories but do check as they are well worth listening to, especially for free.

If mew love a cosy mystery, this is for mew, as I'm sure mew'll enjoy it.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books
