How are all my beautiful furriends today? Are mew having a fabulous week? Mine has been lovely as the weather finally pushed the mercury offur the 20C mark, actually on Monday we got up to 26C with a light breeze and it was delightful.
Mew may have heard that I don't like going outside much, this is a completely untrue accusation made by my fursibs, I love the great outdoors...
And I just happened to be outside in time fur this...

THE CAT WHO WASN'T THERE
Bk 14 The Cat Who... Mystery Series
by
Lillian Jackson Braun
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Persuaded by his beloved companion to join her in a group tour of Scotland, Jim Qwilleran expects to revel in his Scottish heritage while keeping Polly Duncan safe from the Pickax Prowler. Instead, his trip is cut short when a thief swipes a suitcase, the bus driver disappears, and a fellow tourist is found dead - all in the same day.

Mew may, or may not remember that way back in August 2016 I reviewed the furry furst Cat Who... novel, and I thought it was high-time I shared another.
I think Lillian Jackson Braun was the forerunner of the kitty cozy mystery vibe as her furst novel was published in 1966, and thus far I don't think I've read any cozy cat mysteries published earlier than that, though I may be wrong MOL.
So anyhoo what did I think to #14 in this series? Well it's offur 10 years since I furst read the entire series back to back and occasionally I'll pull a random one off the shelf to add a bit of variety to my reading repertoire, and I must say I enjoyed today's book as much as I did the furst time I read it.
Even though there's no tech or cell-phones, computers or the like, and reading that the characters have to find a pay phone or borrow a telephone makes me smile; ah the good old days before life became a frenetic, million-miles-an-hour stress vibe with all this tech that was supposed to make life easier.

So to read a story set before all those tech-devices came into play is so refreshing and fur the older purrsons among us, quite nostalgic as life was so much simpler waaaaaay back then.
Would I recommend this book and the entire series? Yes I would furry much so, I think Lillian Jackson Braun wrote a timeless series, that can be enjoyed offur and offur again; she was a true pioneer of the cozy cat mystery vibe.

Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and don't furget that I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just fur mew.
Happy reading or listening
