How are all my beautiful furriends today?  Are mew having a fabulous week?  Mine has been lovely as the weather finally pushed the mercury offur the 20C mark, actually on Monday we got up to 26C with a light breeze and it was delightful.

Mew may have heard that I don't like going outside much, this is a completely untrue accusation made by my fursibs, I love the great outdoors...

And I just happened to be outside in time fur this...

Sampling the furst catmint and catnip crop! MOL

And let me tell mew it was pawesome, and who knew our plants would recover so well aftur the Heathen Kittens from next door nearly cleaned us out a couple of weeks ago, it just goes to show mew that a bit of warmth, gentle watering and some TLC wurks wunders.

Now I think mew've waited long enough, so let's do the draw fur Smoochie's Birthday Pawty Give-Away!

Here are all the fab entries:

And the WINNER is:

This week I'm sharing

THE CAT WHO WASN'T THERE

Bk 14  The Cat Who... Mystery Series

by

Lillian Jackson Braun

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Persuaded by his beloved companion to join her in a group tour of Scotland, Jim Qwilleran expects to revel in his Scottish heritage while keeping Polly Duncan safe from the Pickax Prowler. Instead, his trip is cut short when a thief swipes a suitcase, the bus driver disappears, and a fellow tourist is found dead - all in the same day.

Mew may, or may not remember that way back in August 2016 I reviewed the furry furst Cat Who... novel, and I thought it was high-time I shared another.

I think Lillian Jackson Braun was the forerunner of the kitty cozy mystery vibe as her furst novel was published in 1966, and thus far I don't think I've read any cozy cat mysteries published earlier than that, though I may be wrong MOL.

So anyhoo what did I think to #14 in this series?  Well it's offur 10 years since I furst read the entire series back to back and occasionally I'll pull a random one off the shelf to add a bit of variety to my reading repertoire, and I must say I enjoyed today's book as much as I did the furst time I read it.

Even though there's no tech or cell-phones, computers or the like, and reading that the characters have to find a pay phone or borrow a telephone makes me smile; ah the good old days before life became a frenetic, million-miles-an-hour stress vibe with all this tech that was supposed to make life easier

So to read a story set before all those tech-devices came into play is so refreshing and fur the older purrsons among us, quite nostalgic as life was so much simpler waaaaaay back then.

Would I recommend this book and the entire series?  Yes I would furry much so, I think Lillian Jackson Braun wrote a timeless series, that can be enjoyed offur and offur again; she was a true pioneer of the cozy cat mystery vibe.

Wordy on Wednesday with Biblio-Kitty Amber #9 The Cat Who....

Welcome to

The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Pawesome greetings fellow bibliocats

*waves paw*

It's delightful to be here with mew again and I can safely say this week there have been no mishaps thus far, but that could be due to the fact that we got the P.A. a bubble-wrap suit which our pawesome pals at www.15andmeowing.com suggested.

[if this is your image purrlease let us know and we'll add an attribute]

Admittedly she's not too keen on the styling or the colour of said suit, but we said,

"Mew're a total liability and it's fur your own well being!"

She had no argument at all, other than can we get her a hot pink one with a BionicBasil logo!!!  MOL

We're wurking on it...

Anyhoo it's that time again, so let's get on with the show.

This week on Book Reviews with Amber, I'm sharing

The Cat Who Could Read Backwards

by

Lilian Jackson Braun

The Cat Who Series is one of my all-time favs effur and this novel is the furry furst one in the series written in 1966.

It tells the tale of crime reporter Jim Qwilleran who is attempting to get his life back in order by accepting a job with his old pal at a new Newspaper, The Flux. But instead of reporting crime, his new gig is on the art-scene and his days are spent purrusing galleries and exhibitions. Howeffur it's not long until there's a murder and he's smack in the middle of it.

Enter Koko the incredibly intelligent Siamese, who Qwill inadvertently adopts aftur his owners untimely demise. A rather fussy eater, yet amazingly astute kitty who appears to know things even before they happen.

If mew love a murder mystery, mew'll love this series. A purrfect cozy mystery.

This is my purrsonal Cat Who Collection

We were effur so sorry when the author died a few years ago as there'd be no more books, yet the good news is; there are 29 books in total so that's plenty to keep mew going fur a while, that's if mew haven't already stumbled upon this superb series.

Paperback copy: 196 pages long

Audio Edition: No Audio Book Available
