Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends
Welcome to another glorious week at BBHQ and we're continuing our crystal journey today, and this week, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Charlie asked us; what is Selenite good for?
Crystal of The Week
&
What is selenite good for?
Selenite is a beautiful semi-translucent satin white stone, in its unpolished state it appears to have shallow ribbing, it's quite angular and sadly breaks easily. This is also a highly friable crystal, in other wurds, don't get it wet, as it will disolve. It is one of the more delicate stones and scratches easily, but as long as mew take this into account your crystal will be fine, just be a little more careful than mew would with say an amethyst.
We have a nice selenite tower, a crystal ball and a couple of tumble stones at BBHQ, plus a beautiful dowser with a blue cavansite crown, that's a lovely piece. Though Melvyn was particularly intrigued by the tower. The selenite blades or wands are popular, but the towers are the ones the P.A. sees most at the crystal shows.
Anyhoo, let's jump right in and tell mew a little about the gem lore surrounding these ameowzing crystals. They come in orange, green, brown and blue as well as white and there's also another variation called Desert Rose, which looks more like a rose with petal formations in a sandy colour - we have one of these at BBHQ - see example below.
Selenite is reputedly a great stone for accessing angelic consciousness, and the higher realms aiding in increasing intuition and assisting in raising your own vibration to a much purer and higher level. It is also suggested that it's great for using with the crown chakra - this is located just above the head. It is a stone that instils purity, calm and can imbue a deep, meditative peace.
In other texts we've read, it suggests that is an ancient stone and would be excellent for any lightwork, healing or spiritual work, so if mew're looking to expand your skills in the mystical realms this may be beneficial.
Keeping a tower, or large piece in the home is purportedly beneficial for creating a calm and safe space, mew can also grid a home with smaller pieces, placing them around the house to keep negative influences and bad mojo out. We use black tourmaline for gridding at BBHQ, we'll get to that one in the coming weeks.
It is also said to be a supurr stabiliser and assists in harmonizing erratic feelings, so if mew're feeling a little all over the place, this may be a crystal to explore.
The P.A. hasn't seen any as jewellery as it's probably far too fragile, so mew could possibly have a smaller polished tumble stone in your pocket if mew wanted one near/with mew at all times.
Many thanks for emailing us Charlie, and we hope that answered your question.
If mew have any crystal questions; email us, DM us or ask us in the comments below.
