Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today. I'm a little late posting as the P.A. had more appointments yesterday and this morning but more about that in a minute.
I can't believe it's snowing, the furst snow of the season and I'm snuggled up with my heatpad and Ratty in the catservatory.
So, these appointments the P.A. has been having, let me explain; she went for a routine eye test in September where an anomaly was found and her optic nerves were swollen, so she went to the hospital and was told there was some swelling in her brain and she had to go for an MRI. And finally yesterday after weeks of waiting she got the results. Luckily there's no brain bleed or tumour, and her eyes are in purrfect health for her age, so that's the good news.
Although if the headaches persist or get wurse, or she gets dizzy, loses balance etc, she will have to go to see a neurologist to delve deeper into what could be causing it. So while there is a bit of relief in one sense, in another there's not. So as mew can imagine for the last few weeks she's been rather stressed, anxious and worried, and to be honest she's still wurried.
The furst doctor she saw prior to the MRI, said the swelling could be from the impact of the fall last year and is spinal fluid, although the doctor yesterday dismissed this theory. And the doctor this morning didn't agree or disagree, and just said to monitor the symptoms.
So that's what's been happening, and the P.A. is purretty miserable about it all, as she felt prior to that routine eye exam that she was finally starting to make some progress on getting her life back to normal, in the sense of what she's able to do physically, although there's still a long road to go before she's any where near what she was prior to the accident.
1. I am going to give ________________ a _________________ for Christmas.
2. I sleep _________________hours a night.
3. My home is decorated with _________.
4. _________ makes me feel festive.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I am going to give my hubby a really fun, renaissance portrait of Amber for Christmas. I just hope the peeps making it don't fluff it up as the first attempt they did was truly dire, and I've just had to pay extra for them to use another photo of her. So it might be a total turkey, I hope not but we'll see when it arrives.
2. I sleep 8 or 9 hours a night. I love my sleep, when I was a child I could sleep for 12+ hours straight no problem! LOL
3. My home is decorated with... until recently my home was a really eclectic mix of crystals, chakra/spiritual stuff and cats, and I would have interesting things hanging from the ceiling beams downstairs, then I had my accident and the ceiling in the kitchen needed to be repaired, so everything got removed from there first as the redecoration began and as each room has been done in the new colours a lot of the old stuff hasn't made its way back in. But that's ok as I do have a dedicated crystal room next to Amber's library where all my quirky stuff is now residing waiting to be organised. In fact, my crystal room looks a bit like a shop waiting to open with all the stuff everywhere; it's on my to-do list to organise next year, and I've got a lovely old piece of furniture to paint up for crystal storage, so that'll be a fun project.
4. When out shopping and I hear the Xmas tunes playing in stores, that makes me feel festive.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
100 quirky holidays celebrated by cats! "All in One" holiday celebrations book which featuring a year of kitty celebrations! From "Bubble Bath Day" in January to "Cat World Domination Day" in June, Peaches and Paprika are never at a loss to celebrate crazy holidays in a creative way. This book combines all of the holidays featured in the mini-series into a full year book of untraditional holidays which Peaches & Paprika "celebrate."
These calico gurls really know how to celebrate!
My gorgeous furiends, Peaches and Paprika have done it again with another really fun book, and it's actually being released wurld-wide today, although I did manage to get my paws on a copy early! MOL
I love all the holidays/days they shared, and did laugh out many times throughout the book, and I must say the pictures are hilarious.
I never knew there were so many days to celebrate, and I did really laugh at Jan 22 Squirrel Appreciation Day, EPIC!
There are oodles and oodles fun days to enjoy, so if mew get this book, do keep it out where mew can check regularly if there's anything to celebrate, and I think the P.A. is really going to like National Wine Drinking Day on Feb 18th!!!
Would I recommend this book to mew? Oh fluff yes I would, get it and celebrate as much as mew can, and that's exactly what I'm going to do, any excuse to have a little jolly at BBHQ.
Pawty on library furiends.

That was a good review and we enjoyed reading those fill-in answers too. We're glad the P.A. is okay and nothing really bad from those tests. It probably is something related to that awful fall, it just seems to make sense. Hugs from all of us.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun book. We'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteWe love Peaches and Paprika and will be sure to get their new book. But first we are sending purrayers and Power of the Paw to your Mom for good outcomes and feeling better ! Purrs for a good Christmas to all.

Sending healing thoughts to the P.A. That book sounds like fun, I'll have to get a copy.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry the PA is having so many health issues. I am glad she doesn't have a tumor or brain bleed though. She is in my prayers. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I bet your crystal collection is beautiful. I love sleep too. :) Amber, great review. I love Peaches and Paprika and even met them once. XO
ReplyDeleteShe DID! It's true!
