Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today and oh fluffing dear...
The floodwater comes from the main road to the right and from the hill behind, and even though we maintain our ditches; they are dug out and cleared every year but sadly due to more and more building all the flood plains and wash land are diminishing and the business is at the lowest level, so it gets flooded.
What is really sad, is the business has been running from this site since 1923, and the local council and other government departments don't give a fluff. The P.A. even applied for planning purrmission in 2015 to build a new workshop higher up on the site, but it was rejected as it's in the heart of the greenbelt.
Another sad thing, lots of other peeps get planning in greenbelt on land that should never have anything built on - how is that happening I hear mew ask? Well, the rumour has it that a 'brown envelope stuffed with the green stuff' (and I don't mean catnip) on the QT makes things happen.
So there mew have it, a legitimate business running for 3 generations and nearly 100 years can't get planning for a new workshop or any assistance. Yet, some building companies and individuals that have only recently purrchased land in the area can get whatever they want.
Sometimes life really sucks, but there are always books so let's review one now.

A Cat's Guide to the Night Sky

The P.A. saw this gorgeous book on one of our cat blogging pals pawesome blogs last year, and for the life of her she can't remember which one, so if mew reviewed this last year - thank mew, and purrlease let me know in the comments so I can add your link to my post as without mew I would have never got this ameowzing book as a Catmas pressie. Anyhoo needless to say, I really did tell the P.A. off for having a memory like a sieve and said the next time she sees a lovely book to write down where she saw it, seriously mew just can't get the staff these days.
But I'm digressing, so let's get on with the review.
I absolutely adore this book, and it's pawsitively brimming with facts about the night sky; from spring through to winter mew can get a cats-eye view of where the constellations are and oodles of other really fun, and knowledgeable stuff.
The illustrations are epically epic, and even if astronomy is of little interest to mew, it's worth getting just to look at the pictures! MOL
Mew can learn about the planets, eclipses, shooting stars etc... and how to become a propurr stargazer with the help of Felicity the cat who is featured through the book.
I think this would make a lovely gift for all ages, I know I was literally over the moon when I opened it.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
