The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **ROYAL ROSES!** ~ Shiny Parsley in The Dark, Fudge's New Water Fountain, and Melvyn's In The Chair ~ **PLUS** The Gazebo Nighttime View

Seven cats sit in a vibrant autumn scene filled with pumpkins, sunflowers, red and orange leaves and fluttering butterflies. A sunset glows behind the forest, scattered newspapers lie among the foliage and one cat shouts from a speech bubble, “Extra! Extra! Read all about it!” The central text announces the Midweek News Round‑Up with The B Team in a bold, seasonal style.
This week on the news: late-blooming roses and dahlias, nighttime pawtrols, hydration systems and comfy chairs!

Epic Greetings, Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for stopping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The Halloween header is staying in place until Amber's book review on Friday because she missed last week.

The Weather Report

Not much to report on the weather front, other than it's got colder and damper over the past few days.

There's been drizzle, but luckily no wind as such, just an inoffensive breeze at times.

So, all in all, we're not complaining! MOL

This Week's Flower Offerings

OMC! Look at this rose. Now, here's the thing: there were two of these planted in the raised bed in front of the summer house, and they've been there 2 years and haven't done any good at all.

The P.A. moved them back in September into two large pots, placed them either side of the summer house; they've tripled in size and have flowered in the last couple of weeks.

And the scent is exquisite!

Now this dahlia is in the flower border alongside the path under the rose arch. It was planted in early summer 2025, and finally started to bloom last week for the first time.

It's rather extraordinary: it stands 4 ft tall and has two more flowers opening now. It was completely missing all summer, then - BOOM - it says, here I am, trifid-like, blooming in fluffing November! MOL

WHAT A TOTAL CLUSTER-FLUFF!

Also this week, we've had IT issues regarding the www.bionicbasil.com domain that points to the Blogger address mew see in your search bar above or below... anyhoo, something happened recently so that if mew typed www.bionicbasil.com in your browser, it was coming up as an unsafe site, a potential phishing scammer site - as mew can imagine this hissed us off no end as we are neither a phishing nor scammer site; we ask for no details from mew, our lovely furiends and readers.

If mew want to leave a comment, mew can do that logged in with your own Blogger credentials, which have nothing to do with us... Like we do when we comment on Blogger or WordPress sites, we log in and comment... end of.

However, this little glitch has really upset us, due to the heinous run-for-the-hills warning message caused by an issue we still can't pinpoint - and worst of all, the message was untrue... so all those readers who may have been exposed to it will never visit again... that's really sad for us.

And the reason is this: in this world ruled by money, metrics, and endless conversions for the former. The BBHQ or Basilverse works on the conversion of JOY or happiness or even just a smile.

We don't want to sell mew anything, or get mew to click a link; we just want mew to enjoy, read, stay, explore the archive, or if what we do isn't for mew, bounce, though we'd really like mew to stay, but it's your choice!!! MOL

The Basilverse is written by us (well, the P.A.) for the world, with no expectations at all, nothing other than welcome, be happy, have a chuckle, meet the real cats, meet their fictional alter egos and enjoy the English eccentricness, visit a totally bonkers bunker and surrounding village that is waiting to be explored, but only if mew want to.

Our IT has applied a fix which we hope will remedy the warning thing, as we wouldn't click through a link with that warning and we'd never expect our visitors to either, so we are so very sorry if mew have typed that address and got that message... A. It's not true, and B. It's not fluffing true.

It should be completely fixed by the time mew read this, but if mew do experience any issues in the future, please let us know... thank mew...❤️

Anyhoo, here are this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

 Shiny Parsley in The Dark

Parsley was on pawtrol. He wouldn't come indoors and was lurking on the lawn in the pitch black, so the P.A. went to retrieve him.

He flopped over, rolled several times and said.

"I'm not ready yet!"

So she took his picture! MOL

Next up in the news

 Fudge's New Water Fountain

Mew know how much Fudge loves his water fountains; well, he's back at the sink!

He says he likes how the P.A. can alter the water flow for maximum refreshment!!! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's In The Chair

Melvyn loves to get himself ensconced in the P.A.'s desk chair; he loves the blankys and gets supurr snuggled.

Until the P.A. has to move him to the next chair along!!! MOL

Today's Really Random Photo

Mew may remember that the P.A. says she doesn't watch TV and sits under the gazebo in all weathers at all times of the day and night.

This is the nighttime view! MOL
