Supurr salutations pawesome furiends

*waves paw*

Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library and the start of a new decade and a new year of book acquisitions! MOL

Mew may be wundering why my post is a little late this week; well let me tell mew a little story... I'll give mew time to go get a cup of tea and a gingernut biscuit as it might take a while.

Are mew comfy, supurr... let's begin...

Over Catmas, young Melvyn who happens to be my intern at The Mewton-Clawson Library here at BBHQ came and found me among the stacks, and asked.

"Amber, I've been wurking here for about 9 and a half months now and I really like your book reviews, and quite to my surprise I really like books too, they sort of grow on mew," he paused taking a breath. "Erm... so would it be pawsible fur me to do a guest review, as I've found this really amazing book called, Pawesome Military Vehicles ~ The Ones Mew Really Want To Own by R. P. Howler, that I'd love to share with your fans?"

Well, mew could have cancelled my Audible, Amazon and Waterstones accounts all at the same time and I couldn't have been more surprised, astonished or utterly flabbergasted!

My mind exploded in a whirling dervish of screaming declarations of endless variations of NO!

Taking a moment to collect the unexpected hurricane of ill-disposed thoughts which were suddenly spiralling out of control around my mind, such as;

The flipping nerve of it, I'm the ONLY book reviewer here!
Oh, fluff no! NO! NO! NO!
NOOOOOOOO!
Hell will freeze over and woolly mammoths will roam before that ever happens!
Fluffing upstart has only been here five minutes and he wants my job!
Next, he'll be wanting to rearrange my bookshelves and change my filing systems!
Mew've got to be yanking my tail, seriously yanking it!
What the fluff does he know, he can't even use wurds with more than two syllables!
He's got more chance of getting on the Space X programme than writing a review fur me!
I'm not having it, NOT AT ALL!
I can see I'm going to have to sack him now before he get designs on taking over effurything!

etc... etc... etc... [there were many others but not family-friendly, so obviously I can't share those purrticular thoughts!]

Well, I am exceptionally crotchety, bad-tempered, short-tempered, liable to un-regulated outbursts of anger and tetchiness, and rather set in my ways [extremely so], so this initial, paw-jerk reaction was only to be expected.  Aftur all I was caught completely off-guard, and I felt ambushed.

Lost in a raging sea of tumultuous thoughts being carried towards a distant beach by a tsunami, the like of which would wipe out entire continents, nay planets, Melvyn put a gentle paw on my shoulder and said softly, "Amber are mew ok?"  The wurld abruptly lurched sideways and I was suddenly snapped out of my wild, untamed reverie, and in that moment I had a bit of an epiphany, and before I knew what was happening I heard the wurds came out of my mouth of their own volition, "Melvyn a guest review sounds delightful, but mew can review this!" and I thrust a book at him.

He stared at the small book, and replied. "OK, leave it with me!"

So now I think it's time to share this weeks book.

This week I'm sharing

Christmas Carols For Cats

 by

Julie and John Hope

REVIEWED BY GUEST REVIEWER YOUNG MELVYN

He'd better do a good job or there'll be fire and brimstone... etc... etc... etc...

Here's a Small Snippet of the Book Blurb:

A witty, charming treasury of traditional Christmas carols--rewritten by cats for cats--includes such classics as "The Twelve Days of Catmas," "We Wish for the Fam'ly Goldfish," and "Bark! The Hairy Scary Things."

>^.^<

Dudes and lovely ladycats, this is Melvyn your guest host with the most coming at mew today from deep within the stacks at BBHQ's wurld famous library.

Your lovely hostess Amber, is watching me like a hawk through a laser sight while I do this guest review and if she doesn't like it I'm sure the entire wurld will hear the eruption in due course, howeffur let's talk about today's book as I can see she's already starting to twitch! MOL

Now I had wanted to talk about and review Pawesome Military Vehicles ~ The Ones Mew Really Want To Own by R. P. Howler, but Amber's stipulation was I had to review her choice, so here's what I thought to:

Christmas Carols For Cats

OH my cod this is epic, why the fluff didn't Amber let me see this book way before Catmas [she's so, so secretive about what is being reviewed]!  If I'd known, I would have got The B Team together and we would have gone carolling around Mewton-Clawson and collected some cash fur charity.

What a pawesome book, if mew love carols, mew're gonna love this; 12 purrfectly crafted feline songs that are so fun to sing, and if like me mew love a good caterwaul this is so up your alley, and I mean right up there, by the dumpster full of exceptional surprises!

My recommendation, get your copy now and purractice fur next Catmas, mew'll be EPIC!

Anyhoo I've got to go sweep out the weapons room in the bunker now, so I'll sign off and hopefully Amber will let me review another book review soon.

This is your guest host, Melvyn signing out, and see mew in the bunker shortly - Level 6 - fur a bit of skeet aftur I've finished my cleaning duties!

I do hope mew enjoy this cute little book if mew decide to give it a try...

...and if mew've sung it already, what did mew think?  And do tell me what mew thought to young Melvyn's furst ever review, do mew think he's got a future in book reviews?

I thought he was better than expected and at least I didn't have to abandon today's post altogether, though he did need some encouragement to get started!

Youngsters eh!?

Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just fur mew. And don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time

Keep calm and read on
