Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and isn't it funny how some photo's are not flattering at all, like on any level?
Mew know I was trying to take a cute selfie for this weeks post, and this is how it turned out! MOL
Just look at the bed fur! Oh dear, next week I'll ask the P.A. to take one for me as she always seems to get a nice, flattering angle.
Oh, I must tell mew about what else has been happening at the library this week, I've asked Melvyn to get me a cat chariot so he can wheel me around the stacks and I can check he's put all the books back in the correct place.
As on Monday I found he placed The Muggins Guide To Nuclear Reactors in the N section, instead of the M section, with all the other Muggin's Guides. I had stern word with him about propurr book placement and the joys of alpahbetization when used in the correct form.
He nodded and smiled politely, but then I heard him and one of the library mice laughing, so I'm wondering if they were just testing me to see if I'd notice it was in the wrong place. As these youngsters think us old timers are all stupid and don't notice or know anything. If I find out he's been taking the fluff out of me, there will be retribution; I will lock down the military and weapons section in the stacks and that will teach him! MOL
1. I wish my town ( city) had a ________________________.
2. So far, this year has been _________________.
3. _________ is a little too _________ for my liking.
4. Even if _________, I really appreciate _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I wish my town (city) had a cinema on our side of town. The big multiplex cinema is on the other side of the city centre from us. There are a few in the actual city centre, but they are a little rundown with broken seats etc... Anyhoo we are going to watch a special showing of Return of The Jedi next week in celebration of its 40 year anniversary.
2. So far, this year has been good, things are ticking along as they should be, although my writing is still taking a back seat.
3. Chilli sauce is a little too hot for my liking. I can't really eat hot/spicy foods, it's that inferno effect in the mouth that's no good for me! LOL
4. Even if I couldn't ever eat chocolate cake again, or any cake for that matter, I really really appreciate all the cakes I've eaten so far! LOL
Today, as it's the last Friyay of the month, we're also joining in the furrbulous...
This was me in March 2017, I found something highly hysterical and it must have been contagious as the P.A. was laughing so much she couldn't hold the camera steady!
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy
Terrier Transgressions
Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 2
by
Molly Fitz
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
I'm finally coming to terms with the fact I can speak to animals, even though the only one who ever talks back is the crabby tabby I've taken to calling Octo-Cat. What I haven't quite worked out is how to hide my secret....
Now one of the associates at my law firm has discovered this strange new talent of mine and insists I use it to help defend his client against a double murder charge. To make things worse, Octo-Cat has no intention of helping either of us.
I reviewed book one in the Pet Whisperer series, back in March, click here to catch up if mew missed it. I also reviewed another series by Molly Fitz, so if mew want a recap on those, click here to find out more.
On with the review, so what did I think book two in the series?
Octo-Cat and Angie are back; they are living together permenantly, and Angie is now Octo-Cat's on-call 24 hour cat staff, and in all honesty I really like how he demands top service from his staff! MOL
Anyhoo, in book two Angie's abilitly to communicate with Octo-Cat is accidently discovered by a work collegue at the law firm she works at, and he demands she help him solve a murder case or he'll spill the beans on her odd ability. Blackmail is never a good look on anypawdy, I must add.
So our leading lady, not wanting the immediate world to learn of her new skill agrees to assist in the case, in which the only real witness is a yappy Yorkshire Terrier called Yo-Yo. We soon find out that Octo-Cat can't communicate as readily with other species as he can with Angie, but he's willing (for a price) to try and translate Yo-Yo's somewhat incoherent babblings.
This book has all the ingredients of a top notch cozy mystery; dead ends, multiple suspects, twists and turns and a really good paced plot making it a quick read or listen, depending on your preferred format.
I am really enjoying this series, and I like that other anipals are featured, as it gives a bit of diversity plus inclusivity of other species but still remains true to the cat cozy mystery genre due to our epically snarky hero, Octo-Cat.
If mew'ere looking a long series to get your mittens, claws or teeth stuck into then this will be one to add to your reading list, as there are eighteen books in total so far.
And don't forget if mew get the audio version on Audible, look for books 1 - 3 in a box set, and I've just found that mew can get the Kindle version in a box set too, which saves a bit of cash if mew buy them this way.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books
