Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank you for joining me in the stacks today.

Oh, I have been laughing, sorry, I meant to say laar-fing, well, I thought I'd start using the looooong 'A' vernacular, as Smooch said that laffing sounded a bit too Nottingham!

Let me give mew some examples, so from now on it's:

 gr-arse instead of grass.

baa-rth - instead of bath.

Graah-vel - gravel.

I've been having great fun, but then Parsley said I sounded too plumby aka posh, and needed to tone it down a bit, as I was scaring the Library Mice with my haute couture accent.

Anyhoo, I was laar-fing because the  P.A. found a series of photos of me from way back in February 2014 when I was being most expressive, and I thought it would sou-purr fun to share one with mew today.

GUESS WHAT THIS EXPRESSION IS

No hovering over the photo though! MOL

This is my:

GO AHEAD, MAKE MY DAY look.

When I use this, nearly everypawdy runs for cover, as they know, I'm a big fan of Dirty Harry and a 44 Magnum! MOL

Did mew get it right?

The P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.

1. I’ll never buy ________________ from ___________________again.
2. It’s all fun and games until ____________________.
3. I once got lost _________.
4. _________ is the most normal thing about me.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I’ll never buy my shopping from B & M Bargains again. I used to love B & M; it is one of those shops with a bit of everything and USED to be competitive/cheap. I would go every couple of weeks to stock up on cat food, cleaning stuff, general household stuff, a bit of gardening paraphernalia, food, etc... and a shopping trolly filled to the brim would cost about £70.00, but since c.o.v.i.d. the prices have been going up and up and up.

Last year, I went, and I only had a couple of large boxes of cat food, a couple of jars of coffee, plus a few other bits and pieces; my trolly wasn't even a third full, and it was £80.00. I then went to Waitrose straight after for some food shopping. This supermarket is usually rather expensive, but I noticed a lot of items were actually cheaper than B & M. Go figure that out. I only go to Waitrose once in a blue moon, but it was more reasonable. I was so surprised, and at that moment, I thought, "Fluff you, B & M!"

2. It’s all fun and games until aliens land in your garden, and then the mayhem begins. If you missed our Midweek News post, then you'll see exactly what I'm, talking about. Yes, there are U.F.O.'s or U.A.P.'s in Mewton-Clawson, I have edvidence.

3. I once got lost in Hong Kong alone when I was fourteen. My dad used to take me on business trips, and he'd leave me on my own all day in foreign climes while he went off to his job. I remember being in this huge shopping centre and being followed by a posse of local boys, and as I tried to evade them, I got a bit lost. But it was ok, I eventually gave them the slip and found my way back to the hotel. Fun times!

I was followed in many, many foreign climes. I now look back and think oh my god, I was lucky. One time in Singapore two security guards followed me all around Orchard Road, and cornered me coming out of a shopping centre, and wanted to take me for dinner, I was fifteen... I politely said NO, and ran off. Yep, the good old days and stories I have!

4. _________ is the most normal thing about me. I am laughing at this, as there is no normal here, never has been and never will be! LOL

The Cat That Followed Phantoms

Black Cat Detective Agency Book #2

by

G. David Stirling

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

A HOAX OR A HAUNTING?

The history of Copper Summit is not a pleasant one, but only those old enough to remember its true history are aware of the dangers of its past. Has a horrible organization from last century returned to exact its revenge on the town? Black cat detective B. Buckleberry steps up to the case to figure out a mystery 100 years in the making, before more supernatural events, and more bodies, start piling up...

If mew remember, I reviewed the first book in this two part series a couple of weeks ago, so today I thought, let's put this series to bed! MOL

If mew’re looking for a purrfect mix of mystery, humour, and just a touch of the supurr-natural, then The Cat That Followed Phantoms by G. David Stirling is the cozy thriller mew didn’t know mew needed! This second installment in the Black Cat Detective Agency series once again stars the intrepid B. Buckleberry – a feline with more detective skills than some humans I know! He really is that GOOD! MOL Set against the eerie backdrop of Copper Summit, a town with a history that reads like a ghost story, this book pulls mew in with its tantalizing blend of hoaxes and hauntings. The narrative kicks off, and mew can practically feel the chill in the air as Buckleberry delves into the unsolved mystery. Is it just a clever ruse, or have those long gone truly returned for some spectral revenge? Hint: Mew might want to keep the lights on while reading! MOL The writing masterfully blends humour into the tension. I chuckled at Buckleberry’s antics as he navigates a world teeming with both supurrr-natural occurrences and hapless humans who just can’t seem to get out of their own way. The camaraderie between the animals and humans adds a delightful dimension, showcasing how sometimes the furriest of detectives can see through the chaos that humans miss. With almost 400 pages of scares, laughs, and pawesome twists, it’s a page-turner that never gets stale. Plus, the writing is so vivid that mew can practically visualise Copper Summit’s spooky corners and phantom-filled alleys. Cat cozy mystery fans, or anypawdy looking for a lighthearted yet gripping adventure, this is one to add to the reading list. Buckleberry is the feline sleuth we didn’t know we needed, and it’s a true joy to follow his adventures in solving a mystery that stirs up the ghosts of the past. Grab a cup of your favorite brew, mine as mew know is a lovely cup of catnip tea, settle in, and get ready to be entertained by this charming tale! Prepare for a hauntingly good time with this clever cat detective—just be careful not to let any phantoms follow you home! MOL (Too late at BBHQ, the ghost crew aren't going anywhere soon!)
