Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks, and sadly today I am commiserating as mew will have read on The Pet Parade that my totally ingenious plan to raise money for book buying was sadly thwarted by petty-minded zealots which has unfortunately left me in a bit of a bind, pardon the pun... ah well I suppose all I can wish for now is a billionaire cat to come and take pity on my predicament, shower me with millions and sponsor the library to keep it going for future generations. Does anypurrdy know if Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos have cats that I can write to and plead my case?

Well, one can wish! MOL

Anyhoo enough of my dreadful week, I do have some good news today, well not good news more celebratory news...

...to the P.A. who happens to turn four hundred and elebenty-two today, so many happy returns.

And let's all sing together.

Happy Purrday to mew
Squashed tomouses and stew
Happy Purrday dear P.A.
Happy Purrday to mew!

Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray!

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. February is the perfect month to _________.

2. I have a subscription to _________.

3. _________ is my kind of humor.

4. I shouldn't _________, but I do anyway.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. February is the perfect month to have a birthday, and it's mine today! LOL

2. I have a subscription to a monthly book box for Amber from Feline and Fiction, a monthly cat grass subscription from My Cat Grass for all The B Team and a fun beauty box from Look Fantastic just for me. I used to subscribe to 3 or 4 magazines but I found after a while most of the stuff they were sharing all seemed a little repetitive, and magazines aren't cheap now, so boxes are way more fun!

3. Lots of things make me laugh, there is no definite one style that tickles me,
all-round-humour is my kind of humor.

4. I shouldn't procrastinate, but I do anyway. Since my fall some days I find things so difficult, as I damaged my coccyx and lower back I can't sit for long, so any long-winded computer-related activity is off the cards or anything that requires sitting for any period of time.  I suppose I should try a standing desk, but if I stand too long my lower back locks up.  It's all really annoying, so I do actively try to avoid sitting and writing, which then bugs me as I have so much computer work to do. Ah well so it goes, sometimes life just sucks, but it could have been so much worse!

The Midnight Hour

by

Benjamin Read & Laura Trinder

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Emily's parents have vanished into the secret world of the Midnight Hour - a Victorian London frozen in time - home to magic and monsters. Emily must find them in the city of the Night Folk, armed only with a packed lunch, a stowaway hedgehog and her infamously big mouth.

Before I begin, this isn't a cat book as I thought I'd mix things up a bit this week and share a really exciting kids book, and while there's no cat it does have a hedgepig in it. And the really funny thing is we've always called hedgehogs hedgepigs, and the authors use that same terminology in the book.

This is a fun, fast-paced, twisty plot, full of eccentric characters and set in a parallel London of 1859. It does have a bit of a steampunk vibe crossed with a Terry Pratchett Discworld novel; there's magic abound and creatures galore, and not all of them are nice.

Emily, our hero has to find her mum and dad aftur they go missing. As she journeys into the alternate London for the furst time chased by a bear, she has no clue what's in store on her quest to save with day. That's all the spoiler mew'll get from me as mew know how much I detest spoilerizing things! MOL

All I'm going to say is this; if mew like Terry Pratchett, and/or steampunk this is definitely for mew.

A fun book for all ages, even though it is classed as middle-grade.
