Happy Monday pawesome furiends
And welcome to another week at BBHQ, and today we're officially starting the new season of Colouring with Cats.
We're so excited to be continuing our crystal journey with mew, and during the CWC break we've been speaking to some lovely peeps about the many different types of crystals available, and there are 100's and 100's with new ones being found all the time. And during one of our convo's, Sash asked us, what is moonstone good for?
Crystal of The Week

What is Moonstone good for?
Moonstone is one of our favourite stones, and it comes in whites, creams, blues, greens and yellow tones. It's semi-translucent, though it can also have a milkiness, as with all crystals no two are ever the same. The whiter stones are much like sunstone and labradorite in the fact they have bright flashes of colour or chatoyancy within the crystal and moonstones colour flash is a bright blueish purple. It's divine. Mew really need to choose in purrson, as buying these online in our experience for tumble stones can lead to disappointment.
The P.A. was planning on buying a couple of larger pieces last year when she visited the crystal shows, but due to covid, everything was cancelled so we can only show mew what we bought years ago, five little milky stones online, and mew can see the difference between those and the pure white beads. Anyhoo, with covid still rampant, the P.A. hasn't been to any crystal shows this year either, maybe next year we'll get lucky.
We did try to get a pic of Melvyn with the moonstones, but they were too small, less than 1" or 2.5 cm, so he thought they were a new toy to bat around the kitchen. Therefore the photoshoot was promptly cancelled! MOL The P.A. is making a lovely bracelet from the AAA quality beads, she's already made a combo of moonstone and sunstone, which is very nice.
So let's tell mew a little bit about the gem lore surrounding these dreamy stones. Apparently, it is the stone of new beginnings, so if mew're looking for a fresh start this may be one to look at. It also has a highly calming vibration, so purportedly good for stressful situations, or just if mew need a comforting vibe, it is also reported as a good balancer, so if mew're feeling out of kilter, or the yin/yang, male/female energy needs correcting as it's filled with feminine energy, it could help balance too much masculine energy into a more harmonious vibe.
It is also reportedly very good for soothing emotional stress and can be used on the solar plexus, the spot just under the ribs for drawing out and stabilising deep-rooted emotional patterns. Also great for the crown and throat chakras, the white for the crown and the blue iridescence for the throat chakra.
A very intuitive crystal, which can aid with building/developing psychic abilities and clairvoyance. It is a stone that also encourages empathy.
There are some beautiful jewellery available, pendants, bracelets, rings etc... so if mew feel drawn this stone, mew can wear it all the time. The P.A. wears her sunstone/moonstone bracelet every day, the duality of sun and moon really suits her, and she has a few other pieces of jewellery too. But like with everything, she goes through phases of what she feels she needs in that moment.
In some books we've read, it suggests that women should remove moonstone around the time of the full moon, user discretion is advised, and always do your own research on everything.
Many thanks to Sash for this weeks crystal question.

Anyhoo, we do hope mew've all have a totally pawesome weekend, and that mew're ready for the week ahead, so let's jump right in and start as always with our little breathing exercise, which we're sure mew all have down paw by now... but if mew've furgotten, stop what mew're doing for a moment and take deep fulfilling breaths; counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale:
Breathe in
Breathe out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Smooch is here again to offur mew assistance in getting your OM's on and Zen Harmonies happening, so just press play, close your eyes and follow his instructions.
Don't mew feel better already? I know we do!
Right-click the image to save and/or print the mandala.
And here's our finished version...
Coloured on the iPad and then transformed in Prisma, this time we chose the effect - Aqua, and we are loving this delicate watercolour effect. In fact, when we coloured this mandala it was in all shades of pinks, so the transformation is really spectacular.
Don't furget mew can download** our free Colouring with Cats here:- Books One, Two, Three and Four.
So on that note, we'll say bye for now and hope to see mew Wednesday when we're back with our midweek news round-up, oh and we'll be sharing something really fun and crafty courtesy of Cats Protection from their Christmas Catalogue, so do stop by and check that out.
