Hello meautiful library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and this week I've been making a stand as Melvyn and Fudge have been running around the house like a pair of uncouth heathens! (Yep nothing new there, but they are making such a lot of noise).
So I decided to position myself smack, bang in the middle of one of their main zoomie routes.
Needless to say, they just jumped over me and ran off! Seriously can't an elderly kitty get some peace and quiet???
I'm planning on installing some speed limit signs and speed cameras, mew never know all those fines could buy me lots of new shiny books for the library! MOL
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. This weekend, I plan to _________.
2. _________ never disappoints.
3. I once saw _________.
4. You'll never hear me say _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. This weekend, I plan to do more in the garden, I might paint some windows too. There are lots of plants to set, and everywhere I look I see another job.
2. Chocolate cake never disappoints; spring, summer, autumn and winter chocolate cake is the most purrfect dessert for all seasons! LOL
3. I once saw/stood next to tennis legend John McEnroe in a lift/elevator in Hong Kong. That was in about 1983/4 ish. I had no idea until I stepped out of the lift and someone in the hotel lobby said, "OMG there's John McEnroe!" Pointing to the chap next to me.
4. You'll never hear me say no to a slice of chocolate cake - see #2! LOL
Today, as it's the last Friyay of the month, we're also joining in the furrbulous...
So do drop by the marvellous Mudpie's blog at www.mochasmysteriesmeows.com to join in.
Not really a fail, but Parsley was caught red-handed, sorry red-pawed in the catnip box while the P.A. was making some toys the other day!
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Death on the Menu
A Key West Food Critic Mystery: 8
by
Lucy Burdette
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Hayley Snow, fiery food critic for Key Zest magazine, has just landed a ticket to one of the most prestigious events in Key West: a high-brow three-day conference at the Harry Truman Little White House. Even though she'll be working the event helping her mother's fledgling catering business, there's plenty of spicy gossip to go around. But just before her mother's decadent flan is put to the test, Key West's most prized possession, Hemingway's Nobel prize gold medal for The Old Man and the Sea, is discovered stolen from its case. Unsavoury suspicions point to Gabriel, a family friend and one of the new busboys working the event, who mysteriously goes missing moments later. Anxious to clear his name, Gabriel's family enlists Hayley to help find him, but right as they begin their search, his body is found stabbed to death in the storeroom.
This week I had the purrleasure of delving into a brand new author for me, the title Death on the Menu, by Lucy Burdette. This cozy mystery had me completely captivated from beginning to end. The well-crafted plotline was very well-executed that I was still guessing until the very last page, and mew know how much I like a twisty-turny plot.
The main characters, particularly the protagonist, Hayley Snow, were incredibly well-developed, each with their own unique personality traits that made them stand out. I really liked the witty and humorous addition of Hemmingway, the cat, who added a delightful touch of fun to the overall storyline. Because mew know if there's no cat, I'm not reading it! The murder mystery was set in the picturesque Key West, Florida, which provided the purrfect backdrop for the unfolding events.
I would highly recommend Death on the Menu to anyone who enjoys a well-written whodunit, with a dash of humour and, of course, a lovable cat. Lucy Burdette's storytelling skills have definitely won me over, and I am looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.
This is book 8 of 13 in The Key West Mystery Series, and don't ask me how I started at #8 in the series, because for the life of me, I can't remember as I've had this book on the to-read pile for about a year now, but I will be checking out the earlier Key West books very soon, so stay tuned for more chaos from the Keys.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
