Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library.

How have you been this week?  All good I hope, there's not much to report from the Mewton-Clawson Library, there's a tinge of apathy in the air which is proving quite hard to shake, that and the warm weather makes for a combination of not getting a lot done...

... other than snoozing in my basket at the top of the stairs, which I must admit is rather nice and very enjoyable.

Hopefully, the apathy will disperse and I'll get my teeth into something soon, such as tidying up the library.  But if not, then so what, it'll still be there next week! MOL

Sometimes it's good to do nothing at all...

This week we're also joining in Friday Fill-ins with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. If I couldn’t live in my country, I would live in ______________________.
2. I wish I had kept _________________________ from my childhood.
3. I would choose _________ over _________.
4. _________ doesn’t matter in the long run.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. If I couldn’t live in my country, I would live in Australia, as I love the country, the warm weather and my husband was born there.

2. I wish I had kept ??? from my childhood. This is a tough one as I have a lot of my stuff from being a child; all my books, teddies/soft toys, some art, games, etc... nothing else springs to mind, what I do wish is that my hooligan cousins hadn't broken my Magic Roundabout Playground when I was 5; they forced the train the wrong way around the track and broke the carousel, I was so upset. I still have certain elements from it though.

3. I would choose health over wealth, but both is always nice.

4. Being number one, or first or top in anything doesn’t matter in the long run - what matters is you're happy doing what you're doing, and it doesn't matter a fluff what anyone else thinks. If you really love what you do, and it brings joy, satisfaction and happiness you've literally won the proverbial jackpot.

And now I think it's time to share this weeks book.

The Boy Who Grew Dragons

by

Andy Shepherd

Here's A Small Snippet of the Book Blurb:

When Tomas discovers a strange old tree at the bottom of his grandad's garden, he doesn't think much of it. But he takes the funny fruit from the tree back into the house - and gets the shock and delight of his life when a tiny dragon hatches! The tree is a dragonfruit tree, and Tomas has got his very own dragon, Flicker.

>^.^<

This is a furst for me, I've neffur reviewed a book about dragons before, even though I've read many offur the years.

So let me say this; it's fun, colourful, entertaining plus has excellent role models and values. It features great characters and some humour, with an easy plotline in bite-sized chapters. There are also some very cute illustrations throughout which really help bring the story alive, I thought these were epic especially the full page and double-page ones.  And if mew effur wundered what it would be like to have a pet dragon, I think this book lays it all out, scales and all! MOL

A top read for youngsters, ideal for middle-grade and up, and if you like dragons what's not to love!  This would make a purrfect read during lockdown, my advice try it.

There are some epically exciting adventure stories too, so read our thrilling tales episode by epic episode.

We've got some new Brain Training posts, just to keep your little grey cells in tip-top condition. And we’ll be adding extra jigsaw puzzles to the puzzle page.

  4. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I didn't know your hubby was from Australia, that is cool. You were wise to save items from childhood. I have some, but I gave away or tossed much too. That books looks fun Amber. XO

  5. Those were interesting answers, Australia surprises me even though your hubby is from there, they are killing the feral cats there. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  7. You look so cozy in your basket, Amber! And The Boy Who Grew Dragons sounds like such a fun and fantastic read. I'm certainly going to add it to my to-read list. That's the kind of book I would have loved as a child, and I'm sure I'll still enjoy it now. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You are so right about #4. Competition can take all the fun and purpose out of things you enjoy. Purrs!

  8. Thumbs up for this one, and dabsolutely adding to my 'must have – must read' list. Definitely handy to have a dragon around for all those pesky household chores: BBQ lighting and cooking, incineration of waste garden waste, and my absolute favourite – scaring the VAT man away, MOL
