Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today on this delightful Good Friday, and as mew can see, I'm in the Easter mood because I dusted off my bunny ears just for today, and I even went the extra yard and a half by getting eggs and flowers too! MOL

Before we jump into this weeks review, the other evening the P.A. found Koala Karl. So I got reacquainted with him, and had really great fun!

Don't worry, he dried out just fine, ready for our next meeting in about 30 minutes! MOL

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. _________ is such an inconvenience.

2. My favorite part of the Easter (or Passover) meal is _________.

3. I would like to find an Easter egg filled with _________.

4. For me, _________ is a deal-breaker.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. Living in a small village while lovely, can be a bit of an inconvenience at times. Everything you need is a car trip; to walk to the nearest and only tiny-shop come post office is approx 25+ minutes both ways.

2. My favorite part of the Easter (or Passover) meal is everything; we cook a traditional Sunday lunch every weekend at BBHQ with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and everything, so I shall really enjoy that this weekend, oh and a little extra on this weeks menu will be some sage and onion stuffing... mmmmmmm! LOL

3. I would like to find an Easter egg filled with gold... you know the chocolate gold coins, love them! LOL

4. For me, bad manners and ignorance are a deal-breaker.

The Sphinxing Rabbit

       Here's the book blurb:

Deceptively simple in appearance yet heavy in content, the Sphinxing Rabbit series of books starting with Her Sovereign Majesty aims to communicate tenets of freedom in an entertaining manner as opposed to complex, intellectual discourse, which has already been attempted many times in history, but to little avail. Moreover, each book alludes to a few famous works of art.

I bought this book a couple of months ago from Amazon, and it's been sitting on the to review heap on my desk in the library ever since and the other day, when I was thinking of something to share for Easter, I saw the bunny on the front cover and thought, hey this could wurk!

So what did I think about the Sphinxing Rabbit; the illustrations are totally gorgeous and very nicely done. The story premise is very interesting too. If you're looking to share or teach a message of freedom, this could be a good starting point.

And by the looks of things, without giving any spoilers away; my understanding of the underlying message written between the lines is, not everything is as it seems on the surface or outwardly, or what looks benign might not be, if mew get my epically cryptic drift!

Guys, this is one of those little books that mew're going to have read and make your own mind up about. It's not an easy one to explain, though if mew do decide to give it a whirl, then mew'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

If I were to sum up in four wurds, they would be; a cleverly delivered concept.

Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Join the rest of The B Team tomorrow if mew have time, as they've got an epically epic Easter Crafting with Cats post, and I know mew won't want to miss a moment of it!

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books

  2. We have a traditional Sunday roast every week too, and for Easter it is always lamb.
I know what you mean about getting to the village shop. We live about half a mile from the northern edge of the village and halfway down a hill. The shop is right at the bottom of the other side of the hill which is very steep. It is a killer coming back up and an hour walk each way, so we take the car now that we are a couple of loppy old codgers.

  10. Amber! You really rock the rabbit ears! And PA, your fill-ins - especially #1 Really resonate. We live about 1 hour from the nearest large town and 2 hours from the nearest city where you can do any real shopping! The Sphinxing Rabbit sounds like a terrific book! |Thanks for telling me about it. And Marv would LOVE to have an updated library card! Thank You!

  11. Your library is so festive this week, Amber, and I love it! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I live in a town that I feel to be perfectly sized, where you can get where you need to in just a few minutes, but it's also not overcrowded. My parents come from a very small town, though, and they've always told me about how they would have to travel sometimes an hour or more just to get to a certain store, let alone to the hospital if needed. Sometimes that sort of town sounds very lovely and quaint, but I can see how it could also be an inconvenience. Have a wonderful week!
