1. I don't like to _________, but I have to.
2. I _________ like a _________.
3. I secretly _________.
4. _________ wears me out.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I don't like having to photograph/scan every purchase invoice every month to do my business accounts as there are 100's; I really despise that job, but I have to do it. Until 18 months ago, I had manual accounts and I'd been doing the job like that for 35 years - my system wasn't broken, so it didn't need fixing - but then new regulations came in, and all purchase & sales invoices have to be uploaded to the HMRC government tax website now. So I had to change everything, and all it's done is cost me extra money to implement it, and it takes 3 or 4 times longer to do than my manual system. I can see the value in the new system for larger businesses, but for one my size, it's been counterproductive.
2. I sometimes wish that everyone could just get the fluff along and be like a nice happy, balanced world.
3. I secretly always wanted to live in a stately home with 1000+ acres of land, yep total delusions of grandeur! LOL
4. Social media really wears me out; it literally drains me. And I really feel for the younger generations getting sucked into the virtual world of unreality with unrealistic and unachievable images being thrust at them day in and day out. I'm so glad I grew up without any of that around me.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Cat Couture
by
Jason McGroarty
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Hummus was diagnosed with Feline Leukaemia when she was a kitten and is unable to play outside with other cats. However, Hummus is a total fashion diva and likes to model new looks in her own personal cat-sized studio.
As it's such a large post today, I thought I'd have a smaller review! MOL
So what did I think about Cat Couture, I really enjoyed it; it's a mini coffee table book. The one that's sits on top of all the others.
It's filled with gorgeous photo's of Hummus in many different outfits, each cleverly curated for a specific theme, and what I love are her facial expressions throughout are all different. Some are a little fangy; others are demure, aloof, content, poignant, reflective, knowing, and purrhaps a little smug in one or two shots. This kitty knows she's special!
If mew're looking for something fun, this is it, and it's beautifully presented, so would make a lovely gift too.

Overall Enjoyment
I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books

Love your fill-ins and number one is always amazing to me. They tell you want to do and they don't know what you do. They just know what they need, not what you need.
ReplyDeleteI gave up all social media months ago. The best thing I've ever done. I'm free and not upset anymore. If you come to my blog filled with anger and preaching something I don't want to hear then off you go. I'm done with conflict.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
i'm so with you on number 4.......that's why you don't see me that active ANYWHERE on social, twitter, facebook, instagram or otherwise!
ReplyDeleteHummus looks a very cute couture cat.
ReplyDeleteI agree with #4. I have never had Twitter or Instagram. I do have an FB account but very rarely use it. I wanted to close the account but hubby likes to use it to see what is going on in the village group.
That was a good review sweet Amber and those were good fill-in answers, ya gotta love government efficiency NOT! Happy Birthday to Marg from all of us too.
ReplyDeleteA great book and good fill ins. We hardly ever go to FB and when we tried to enter the giveaway we may not have done it right. Ah well. Happy Birthday Marg

The LLB Gang
That book looks adorable Amber. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great answers except I am sorry you have to do all that scanning at work. Have a nice weekend. XO
ReplyDeleteSometimes the world of Tech can be SO annoying and yes burdensome! Though, um...if we didn't have it, how would we ever have met all of you, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't enter that giveaway, though we would have donated it to a local shelter...not that they wouldn't have loved that, I just felt strange entering with no kitties, and lessening the chances for a real kitty family, Phew, is that confuserating or what?!
That looks like a fun kind of book to have for those times when you need to be cheered up:)
Happy Birthday to our friend, Marg!!
That's quite a hamper full of good stuff!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think this book needs to go onto my purchase list, thanks!
Can't enter giveaway. Not on social media.
ReplyDeleteLoved the sounds of your book. We also loved your answers.
To yoor PA - our momanager feels the same way about social media. While she enjoys hanging out with all our furends, the endlessness of it all is draining and extremely time-consuming. She hasn't written a novel in two years. I'm thinking we need to put her out to greener passages and hire a fresher momanager. Also, sorry to hear yoo have to change out yoor system. Technology is not always better. Purrsonally I'm not going to recommend Cat Couture to my meowmy. She has enough big ideas about dressing me up, and I'm not a fan of meowdeling. Love, Dori
