Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today. Mew may remember last week when I had to resort to having my hot water bottle as it was quite cold. Well, this week we had a couple of nice days, and I actually ventured outside, and while outside I spied some rather yummy cat grass.
And in purrfect mid chomp, unbeknownst to me I was snapped looking most glamorous. Not my most flattering photo, but I thought I'd post it before it appears on the Friday Fluffers in the next few weeks while I'm on my summer vay-cay with the hashtag #lookatthosechompers! MOL
Today the P.A. is joining Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. Lately, I've been _________.
2. I find _________ fascinating.
3. If I had known _________, I would have _________.
4. I can't help but _________ when I'm nervous.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. Lately, I've been working on the BBHQ shop and making products, and yesterday I sorted out insurance, so that means that I can soon start selling a few things.
2. I find Egyptology fascinating. When I was at school, my career choice was archaeology, though sadly in the '80s there wasn't much hope of that happening.
3. If I had known what I know today when I was younger, I would have done a few things differently.
4. I can't help but feel mildly anxious when I'm nervous.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Schroedinger The Wonder Cat
by
Aaron Rosen
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Schroedinger The Wonder Cat is the story of fourteen years of living with the world's most amazing feline. His actions and antics are chronicled and there are many pictures of beings with whom he has had relationships and places he has been. He is truly a member of our family and we treat him as an equal - at least most of the time - and never refer to him as a pet as that would be demeaning to him. It is also the story of our lives and how we interact with Schroedinger. How he came to live with me, how he grew up, how our lives changed when Sandy, my wife, joined us, how we moved and how we live together.
**Furstly I have to let mew all know that I was
given a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review**
So what did I think of The Life and Times of Schroedinger J. Cat Jr. III?
Let me set the scene for mew; I got snuggled in my big leather chair in the library with my hot water bottle and supurr fluffy blanket on Sunday afternoon, while the rain pitter-patted down in an almost gentle fashion, occasionally tip-tapping against the windows, and I read this book in one sitting.
As I began reading, I wasn't really sure for whom the target audience was, but as I kept turning page after page, I soon realised it was written for readers exactly like me; young or old who love a good yarn about a real kitty interspersed with interesting facts, figures and explanations about completely random things that just pop up in the narrative. And without giving anything away or spoilerizing anything, I'm just going to say; if mew don't know what a quark is, mew will after mew've read this book.
Schroedinger reminds me very much of Smooch to look at, and his journey from kittenhood to full cathood, and senior cat is heartwarming and fun. There's even a funny cationary (dictionary for cats) at the back of the book, and the different story sections are filled with colour photo's and cute illustrations, each having a description.
Would I recommend this to mew, yes indeed I would as I found it a supurr way to spend a couple of hours on an afternoon, and I know I'll read it again in the future.
Many thanks to Schroedinger and his dad/author Aaron for sending me a signed copy of their wunderpurr book all the way from sunny California. I enjoyed it immensely.

Overall Enjoyment
I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew read it.
It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books

That was a good review sweet Amber and I'm glad you got to enjoy some grass time. Those were good answers too. Hey, thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI hope we can start buying things from the P.A.'s shop soon. That sounds like a fun book to read.
ReplyDeleteI had heard of this book before, but not read a review. Sounds wonderful! Just the thing for a wet and dreary weekend, or to spend time with on a warm summers day spent sunning onself between naps and meals!
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Amber. So look forwards to the next.

You had a great way to deal with a rainy afternoon, Amber!
ReplyDeleteAnd you sure were all into that cat grass!
That was a great review, Amber. No gentle pitter patter of rain here. If it is not beating against the window it is the hail deafening me! We did have one fairly dry day earlier in the week though when I managed to plant some bedding before the rain came back later in the day.
ReplyDeleteI love your fill-ins and yes on the third one. Me too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
Really great fill ins friend. Amber we have a copy of that book and have not read it yet but plan on reading it for our Cat Scouts Book Club in the next month or so. Thanks for a fun review
ReplyDeleteAmber, those look like chive plants you are chewing. I hope you did not get sick. I have that book on my to- read list. Good to know you enjoyed it. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Yes, I would also have done some things differently. :) Have a nice weekend. XO
ReplyDeleteFirst time visitor and I love your blog! I'm a teacher/librarian and love your library posts and not to mention the cats! My little furball is also my voice of my blog. Good to meet a kindred spirit.
ReplyDeleteEgyptology! Have you read The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult? Brilliant, especially if you like Egyptology.
Hope you are enjoying wonderful weekend!
Elza Reads

Oops...I'm not sure what happened with my comment as I paused for a moment, so either I hit the wrong and deleted it myself, or I sent it half finished! Oh my! That's what happens when one gets distracted!
ReplyDeleteThat book sounds wonderful! Thank you for the review!
I always dreamed of having a library in my home, like those photos above. <3
