Parsley Sauce's Cute Outdoor Selfie

Parsley is an adorable mini panfur, and he loves being in the garden and can often be found snoozing on the edge of the lawn, near the bird feeders. And the birds don't seem bothered by him at all. It's as if he likes watching Bird TV in real time! MOL

And speaking of Bird TV, mew do know that we created some really fun YouTube videos of the cheeky chirpers at BBHQ, mew can watch them all here and we'll be making some new videos soon.

We also turned this fab arty-farty picture into a puzzle, so do stop by the puzzle page and take the Puzzle Challenge, see if mew can beat our time of 9 mins 08 secs.

Battle of Passchendaele: 31 July - 6 November 1917

The P.A.'s Grandfather fought in the Battle of Passchendaele; he was shot by German soldiers who thought he was dead and he was put in a mass grave. Luckily another German soldier saw him move and pulled him free. He was then taken to a German POW camp where his leg was amputated below the knee. He got gangrene, and a second amputation was carried out; he was finally released after many months as part of a prisoner exchange.

Upon finally returning home, the remainder of his leg was removed almost to the hip and he used a wooden leg enabling him to walk, but he did more than walk; he literally built a business from nothing, had a family and left a legacy which now the P.A. runs with her mum.

Though he never spoke of his ordeal much, the P.A.'s Great Aunty got to learn of the horrors he suffered, hence the reason we know his history today.

Grandpa Fred died in 1946 when the P.A.'s mum was only 3, and the P.A.'s Grandmother was left with 5 children under the age of 10 and a business to run. The P.A. gives thanks daily for her Grandpa's grit, courage and determination.

In honour of Grandpa Fred 1886 - 1946

On that note, we'll wish mew a blessed day, and we'll be back on the morrow, so do join us then as mew know how much we love your company.

Wishing mew lots of snoozy snuggles

  1. That is an extra wonderful selfie!!! We always honor and remember our heroes all.

  2. Parsley is a very handsome panther indeed! Cute, too:)

That is an amazing story about your courageous Grandfather and your Nana.It is a great honour to have such as those in your own family.

  3. We love your selfie and art, Parsely. So handsome!

We are so thankful for your grandfather and for all who fought so that we can be free. XO

  4. The PA's grandfather was a very brave man. My grandfather fought in the First World War trenches but would never speak of it after he returned home.
    That is lovely art, Parsley.

  5. Parsley, that is wonderful art.
Yes, We should neffur forget those who fought and gave their all, to have a better world.
"Age shall not weary them, Nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."

  6. Remembering all who give selflessly is so very important. Their lives mean our freedom. A most excellent selfie from Parsley, who carries off, not literally, the checked background very well. :)

  7. Some very tough people in your lineage!
War is hell; why can't we quit fighting?
Parsley is a handsome housepanther, and an excellent model for artwork.

  8. Parsley it is so cool to see you having fun watching the birds! We will never forget those who fought for our freedom either. That's what is so impawtent in this world.

  9. Grandpa Fred suffered so much yet accomplished everything. But to be buried alive? Unbelievable. Bless him. Parsley is one of the most dignified cats about. Very handsome. Now your kitty videos: they are now officially approved by Nell and Betsy. They watched an entire two of them. They are exhausted now and sleeping off the excitement.

  10. We are glad to join you in honouring your family. Heaven's what suffering and what courage. Thank you soldiers of the world, I wish we did not need to call on your services so much.

  11. What a great selfie of Parsley, a handsome panther indeed! That is a wonderful tribute to your grandfather. We won't forget the courage of those who fought for our freedom.

  12. Beautiful tribute post to your grandfather. Handsome selfie Parsley. Thank you for the puzzle. XO
