Guys, we're just loving bipping around Britain and finding all these stone circles we never knew existed!

Mew know how much we love ancient standing stones and stone circles, see our previous trips to:

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Greetings fellow travellers and history lovers!

During our recent visit to Cornwall, we had the purrleasure of exploring the Boscawen-Un stone circle, which was truly a pawe-inspiring experience. This ancient site, which dates back to the Bronze Age, specifically around 2500-1500 BC, is situated in a tranquil clearing surrounded by lush greenery. The circle comprises 19 granite stones, with the central stone standing tall above the rest.

While the exact purpose of the circle remains a mystery, many believe it was used for religious or ceremonial activities as is the general consenus of most of these types of ancient stone circles. The stones are believed to have been taken from a nearby quarry, but the exact location remains unknown. The stones' placement in the circle and the size of each stone is fascinating to observe, making it clear that great effort and skill went into building this site.

The Boscawen-Un stone circle is not just a standalone site. It aligns with other nearby ancient sites, which makes it even more intriguing. From the center of the circle, mew can see the hillfort of Caer Bran and the ancient burial mound of Chun Quoit. These alignments suggest that the site was used for astronomical observations and may have even served as a calendar.

If mew are interested in learning more about Cornwall's rich history, mew should visit Chysauster, an ancient village just a short drive away. Mew can see the remains of Iron Age houses and walk in the footsteps of our ancestors. The villages and coastline of Cornwall are also worth exploring, with their stunning views and picturesque locations.

Overall, visiting the Boscawen-Un stone circle was a fascinating glimpse into Cornwall's ancient past, and we would really recommend it to anypawdy visiting the area. It's an excellent opportunity to appreciate the incredible engineering and astronomical knowledge of our ancestors.

Do join us again tomorrow, when we're back with another episode of Cats Have Problems Too, and check out this week's Despurrate Dilemma. And on Tueday we'll be sharing Chapter Three in our brand new B Team Adventure, Claws of Terror.

Parsley is an adorable mini panfur, and he loves being in the garden and can often be found snoozing on the edge of the lawn, near the bird feeders. And the birds don't seem bothered by him at all. It's as if he likes watching Bird TV in real time! MOL

And speaking of Bird TV, mew do know that we created some really fun YouTube videos of the cheeky chirpers at BBHQ, mew can watch them all here and we'll be making some new videos soon.

Battle of Passchendaele: 31 July - 6 November 1917

The P.A.'s Grandfather fought in the Battle of Passchendaele; he was shot by German soldiers who thought he was dead and he was put in a mass grave. Luckily another German soldier saw him move and pulled him free. He was then taken to a German POW camp where his leg was amputated below the knee. He got gangrene, and a second amputation was carried out; he was finally released after many months as part of a prisoner exchange.

Upon finally returning home, the remainder of his leg was removed almost to the hip and he used a wooden leg enabling him to walk, but he did more than walk; he literally built a business from nothing, had a family and left a legacy which now the P.A. runs with her mum.

Though he never spoke of his ordeal much, the P.A.'s Great Aunty got to learn of the horrors he suffered, hence the reason we know his history today.

Grandpa Fred died in 1946 when the P.A.'s mum was only 3, and the P.A.'s Grandmother was left with 5 children under the age of 10 and a business to run. The P.A. gives thanks daily for her Grandpa's grit, courage and determination.

On that note, we'll wish mew a blessed day, and we'll be back on the morrow, so do join us then as mew know how much we love your company.

Wishing mew lots of snoozy snuggles
