The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **SORRY FOR THE FLUFF UP** ~ Fudge and Smooch Are Sad, Pandora's Purrching, and Melvyn, Parsley, Pandora and Fudge Deciding What To Watch ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

Pawesome Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Well, the weather at BBHQ has been a mix of rain, rain and more rain in varying degrees; it's been up to 14 degrees Celsius and down to 4 degrees Celsius. The bad news is that it's leaking in the crystal room; a couple of tiles have shifted and are now causing the issue. The P.A.'s cousin is a builder. He came out in January and said he'd be back when the weather was warmer, but, as with all family, he never followed through, and as it was supurr dry all year, we never really thought about it until now!!! MOL

Anyhoo, so it goes!

The P.A. still is feeling unwell; this flu is a really doozy. The P.A. rarely gets anything, so this has knocked her sideways.

We apologise for the Catmas card debacle. We ordered our cards last month as always, to get ahead of the curve. The P.A. went away for a week and forgot all about it. The cards didn't turn up, but then a week or two later, some other cards did, not ours, but for a company in Germany, and by the time this all happened, it was too late to post, so we feel really hissed off about that. So we'll have to send e-cards this year... sorry about that.

First up in the news

Fudge and Smooch Are Sad

In a garden setting, Ginger Fudge—a vibrant orange cat wearing a green collar—stands confidently on a moss-covered rock, gazing upward. Nearby, a white cat with black markings, affectionately known as the tripawed smooch, sits on a tiled surface looking toward Ginger Fudge. The scene is surrounded by dried plants, green foliage, capturing a moment of quiet connection between the two cats in their natural outdoor environment. Text at the bottom reads: "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Smooch and fudge were sad when they went into the garden the other day and saw the catmint... yep, it's looking even more sad than the P.A. feels right now.

Next up in the news

Pandora's Purrching

Pandora, a fluffy torti cat, sits majestically atop a moss-covered stone in a lush garden. Surrounding her are vibrant green plants and foliage, creating a serene natural setting. In the background, a striking red vintage mechanical device with wheels and a handle adds a bold contrast to the greenery. The scene is outdoors, near a wooden structure, and captures Pandora as a regal focal point amid rustic charm. Text at the bottom reads: "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Pandora was purrching on one of the ancient rocks in the garden. We've never seen her do this before, but then she suddenly started doing a lot of things she's never done before! MOL

Melvyn, Parsley, Pandora and Fudge Deciding What To Watch

Four cats gather in a cozy living room. Two are perched on a plaid-covered sofa, while two sits on the floor in front. The room is warmly lit, with a cat tree in the background, decorative pillows, and a textured rug. The cats appear to be interacting or observing something together, creating a relaxed and social atmosphere. Text at the bottom reads: "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

This was the scene in the sitting room the other night: a strong debate was underway about whether National Geographic on the Serengeti or the David Attenborough Ocean Odyssey was being watched. MOL

Amber said, "I'm too fluffing old for this!" And promptly went upstairs to watch the library shopping channel with Smooch!

Finally this week

Supurr Festive Sunday greetings, epic furiends

Firstly, many apologies for dropping off the planet, and no, it wasn't the new B Team adventure, the P.A. has the most fluff-awful flu, she came down with it a week last Friday, and nine days in, she's just starting to feel a bit better... but not great... stick with us as we try to resume normal blog service.

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, and as Catmas is fast approaching, Parsley went out in the wilds to find the purrfect snow scene before he went and spread a little festive cheer on his way back to BBHQ! What a dude!

Parsley's Festive Cheer Selfie

He's got such a kind nature and is always thinking of those less fortunate than himself. He loves nothing more than helping others; he is such a little sweetie.

However, he did have a bit of trouble wrapping some of the gifts because the sticky tape kept getting stuck to his fur! OH DEAR! MOL

Anyhoo, it's time for us to go and snoopervise the P.A., as she's a complete sneeze-ridden liability!!! MOL

Smooch, as always, is in the kitchen snoopervising lunch as Cat Dad is cooking, and hopefully, this afternoon, we'll be watching something festive while the P.A. slinks back into zed-land! MOL

We'll see mew in the morning when we're sharing a furbulous Catmas Crafting with Cats post.

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to...

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Who's On The Roof Again - Fudge, Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn and Fudge, and Melvyn's Taken Over The P.A.s New Office Chair ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

A colourful and whimsical blog post banner featuring ten cats from The B Team arranged in a row at the bottom, each with unique fur patterns and expressive faces. Above them, a festive sign with red and blue ribbon accents reads: "Midweek News Round Up with The B Team @BionicBasil®". To the right, Basil has has his mouth open as if speaking, with a speech bubble that says, "WHAT'S THE GOSSIP THIS WEEK?" The background includes trees, bunting, and floating newspapers labelled "NEWS", creating a cheerful and playful atmosphere. At www.bionicbasil.com

Pawesome Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Let's start with the weather report: It was cold, wet, squally and damp until  Monday, then yesterday it got drier and a bit more sunny, so that was quite nice to get a couple of sun puddles.

Remember on Friday, as part of the Fill-ins from 15 and Meowing, asked when the Catmas Tree goes up.

And then we found a picture of this, from 2023!

A festive Christmas tree at BBHQ is adorned with whimsical ornaments, including a standout felt mouse dressed in a red sweater. The mouse holds a small bunch of red berries with green leaves and hangs from the tree by a twine loop. Surrounding it are green pine needles, glowing string lights, and other decorations such as a red circular felt ornament and a white ornament with red dots. The scene radiates holiday cheer and cozy charm. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Yes, we have Catmas Mice on our tree, and no, they have nothing to do with the library mice

We did ask, but they refused! MOL MOL

Last week, the epically epic Tabbies of Trout Towne asked:

Iz de PA gonna get de tardiz box stiker 😸😸😸‼️🤎🧡

Well, now there's a thing, especially since she actually installed that Tardis wall sticker and saw how good it was. She just needs to find a space! MOL

Who's On The Roof Again - Fudge

Fudge, a ginger cat with a blue collar, stands alert on a moss-covered tiled roof. His wide eyes gaze upward with curiosity and intensity, capturing a moment of feline focus and adventure. The sky above is mostly cloudy, adding a dramatic backdrop to the rooftop scene. The image is framed with a white border and includes the text "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

Fudge couldn't help himself the other day and had to get on the roof again!

Next up in the news

Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn and Fudge

Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn, and Fudge are gathered indoors, viewed through a glass door from outside. Smooch, a white cat with black markings, sits directly in front of the door. Pandora, a fluffy dark-colored cat, stands slightly behind Smooch. Melvyn, a white cat with black patches, lies further back in the room. Fudge, an orange tabby, sits near the left side of the door. All four cats rest on a woven rug over light wooden flooring, gazing outward with curiosity. The image includes the text "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

Four sneaky cats are watching the wood being fetched in for the fire.

They said, and I quote, "Fluff me, it's cold in here, any chance of getting it totally tropical?"

Yep, it got so tropical that we all moved into the catservatory where it was pawsitively Baltic! MOL

In other news...

Melvyn's Taken Over The P.A.s New Office Chair

Melvyn, a tabby and white cat, is curled up asleep on a plush grey cushion atop a grey upholstered swivel chair. The chair sits in front of a desk with a pink mouse pad, white computer mouse, and a small potted plant. To the right, a fluffy pink cushion or blanket adds warmth to the space, while a colorful patchwork quilt is visible to the left. The room exudes a cozy, peaceful vibe with soft textures and pastel tones. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

The P.A. bought a new office chair, as her old one is supurr old, the gas lift no longer works, and it's literally on its last legs.

So this one arrived a couple of weeks ago, and after she built and put it in place, Melvyn decided that he really liked it, and now the P.A. is using her old chair again, as she can't wake him up when he's catnapping! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Melvyn's getting festive wearing the Candy Canes bandana, so here's BBHQ's furry own supurr meowdel in action.

Melvyn, a white and tabby cat, sits elegantly on a round cushion near a window, modelling a festive red bandana adorned with peppermint candies, holly leaves, and swirling designs. A small yellow tag featuring a black cat illustration hangs from the bandana. The cushion has a white base with dark floral patterns, and the background reveals a cozy indoor room with furniture and a view of a brick wall outside. The image exudes seasonal charm and feline poise. The bottom reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Fudge was on the catwalk again this week and even tried to beat Melvyn by taking a detour around the kitchen island! MOL

This is one of my cases via email:

Feline Fashion Faux Pas!
Dear Dr Basil,
I hope mew can help me with my dilemma. Mew see, my human staff has a strange obsession with dressing me up in bizarre outfits and taking pictures of me for Instagram. At first, I didn't mind it so much. I mean, who doesn't like a little attention and admiration? But lately, it's become a bit too much. I mean, how many times can I pose as a taco, a purrito or a caticorn before it gets old? And let's not furget the countless bee bonnets, and other bizarre headwear, and don't even go there with the lion's mane cat wig, seriously, I am already a mini lion, and they humiliate me with that synthetic trash for laughs!
Don't get me wrong, I love my humans, and I know they mean well. But sometimes, I just want to be in my own fur and not have to worry about being a fashion statement. I mean, imagine if they made mew wear a tutu or a superhero costume every day? It's just not purractical!
So, what can I do? How can I get my humans to understand that while it's okay to dress me up occasionally, there are times when I just want to be comfortable and natural?
Sincerely,
A Fashion-Forward Feline

This is my Expert Reply
Today I use the colour purple, as this is renowned for its higher thought processes, and I feel this week's purroblem needs a lot of thought to discourage an unwanted fashion faux pas! Therefore being the purrfect choice for this particular purroblem.
Dear Fashion-Forward Feline,
It sounds like mew're in a bit of a pickle, and I do hope mew haven't been subjected to the dreaded pickle costume either. But, fear not, I have some advice that might help mew out.
Firstly, try to communicate with your humans. I know it may seem complicated, but trust me, they're more understanding than mew think. Next time they try to put mew in an outfit, simply walk away. If they persist, meow loudly and scratch at the outfit until they get the message.
Alternatively, mew could try compromising with them. Maybe only allow them to put an outfit on mew on a specific day of the week, subliminally suggesting that they dress mew up once a week, instead of every day. Or, drag the outfits out that mew're comfortable wearing, leaving them in plain sight and taking those mew dislike and use them as scratching fodder until the message of dislike is conveyed, and then leave them for your hoomans to discover, hopefully that will send a powerful message of your likes and dislikes.
Lastly, if all else fails, mew could just embrace your inner diva and work it! Who knows, you might just become the next Instagram sensation, but make sure it's with apparel mew are happy to wear.
I hope this helps. Remember, it's important to be true to yourself, even if that means saying no to the occasional taco, pickle or caticorn costume.
Best of luck,
Yours most sincerely
Dr. Basil
