Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends
Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!
Happy Wednesday, fluffy furiends, we hope your week has been pawsitively pawesome so far!
Let's do the weather report. It was really, really warm last week, and then on Caturday, it started to cool down, which was nice. So we've had intermittent sun and cooler temperatures since Sunday. Still no rain, although there was a bit of drizzle on Monday morning.
And here's an update for yesterday, (as we wrote the bulk of this post on Monday evening), we woke up and it was raining - WOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!! We couldn't believe it, the ground was actually wet, and the plants and trees literally perked up as we watched! MOL
Here are this week's flower offerings, not much to show, but we tried.
A delightful pink hollyhock in the small garden by the summer house.
And a crocosmia, these are lovely and start blooming late July at BBHQ. Although this year, they haven't fared well with all the heat, and many are looking more like a burnt crisp than a lush pop of colour.
So much so that the P.A. pulled out no end of plants from one of the garden borders along the path on Caturday afternoon. She saved some to replant, but a lot have gone.
She's also bought some new roses, because obviously we don't have enough (MOL!), and is planning and getting those set this week sometime.
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.
First up in the news this week
Fudge's Morning Sunspot
Fudge found a lovely sunspot in the sitting room on Monday morning, and he was lucky because then the sun vanished, and it drizzled for a while.
Next up in the news
Smooch Waiting Patiently
Smooch was waiting for the back door to open. He even gave the P.A. a toothy little smile. Just look at that! MOL
Melvyn got in the kitchen window and was looking at the vegetable garden and getting wiffles.
Basil in The BBHQ Stone Circle 2009
This is such a pawesome flashback... mew see how much we love stone circles at BBHQ, yep, the P.A. built a mini one just for us cats! MOL
The stones are still in place, though a couple of trees are now shading the area, and the gravel is long gone, although the slate survived. The P.A. was actually clearing this garden as well on Caturday afternoon, apparently she's got a 'plan', oh yeah, mew know where that's going, don't mew?! MOL
That's us done for today. We'll be back again on Friday, so do join us then, as mew know how much we love your company.

Smooch really did smile, I saw it the moment I laid eyes on the picture. I hope you get plenty of rain but not a drop too much and plenty of color for the autumn.
ReplyDeleteWe had light steady rain yesterday morning too. Everything seemed to appreciate it, but as no more is forecast the slight improvement in green won't last long. The crocosmia are pretty. I see them all over the place in road hedges. If the seed is spread by birds, they must be very particular in choosing them and nothing else.
ReplyDeleteFudge is looking very content in his sunspot. That is a cute little smile from Smooch. Melvyn is watching very intently, and that is a lovely flashback of Basil in the stone circle.
Love all the pictures today, especially the one of Basil in the stone circle!
ReplyDeleteLove all the shots. Beautiful and I love your landscaping. Nothing better than precious kitties.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs to mom and scritches to all the kitties. ♥
So disappointed in the crocosmia bulbs I bought this spring. Not a one sprouted. Here the hummingbirds love them and I've always wanted some. Smooch we see you are wearing your heart on yourself.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms, and the pic of Fudge is rather calming!
ReplyDeleteTold The Hubby that I want a Stonehenge-like trilithon in the backyard; he's sure that I've crossed the line into crazytown.
