Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for dropping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The Weekly Weather Report

It got hot again, not supurr scorchio, but sweaty, humid, sticky fur hot. So we all stayed indoors near the fans and air conditioning.

Mew know it's no fun having a fur coat when it's an inferno outside. Oh, but we did remember this from ages ago:

Fudge Makes Frozen Tuna Treats

So guess what we had again!!! MOL

Anyhoo, we're still in the midst of a warm spell with: 27 C Monday, 29 C yesterday, and today it's supposed to cool to 23C, but then climb again early next week.

Yep, it's been a really odd summer so far.

This Week's Flower Offering

Remember we mentioned that the P.A.'s car was pulled by some unseen gravitational force into the garden centre on Sunday? (No, it wasn't really - she just can't help herself!!! MOL)

Anyhoo, this is one of the incredible dahlias she bought. She wasn't planning on buying any more this year as the garden was pretty full last year, but the heat hasn't boded well for them, so here we are again. As dahlias are very thirsty and obviously there hasn't been any rain...

She bought some other fun plants too, which we'll show mew next time.

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines ~ there's a lot of snuggling happening today! MOL

Meanwhile downstairs in the sitting room, Parsley was snuggling here!

Fudge's On The Snuggle Mat 

Fudge, now unmelted and back in his solid form, snuggled on the snuggle mat on the pouffe by the patio doors!

Today's Really Random Feature

Oh, we did laugh and laugh and laugh at this!

Yes, Pandora does own a custom, sparkly camo jeep. Yes, there is a garden parasol open in the back, a wicker hampurr or three from Purrtnam & Meowson's, and everything else needed for a truly decadent picnic! MOL

She promised to take Amber on a pre-jolly picnic, aka P.J.P., before Amber departed on her annual vacation.

So off they went down to a lovely spot by the river next to the huge willow trees, where the swans live. There's a small wooden dock with a rowing boat and a punt moored all summer, if the mood strikes for messing about on the river! MOL

  It's only about a quarter of a mile off-road over an undulating meadow filled with wildflowers and surrounded by majestic oaks.

Let me tell mew what was in the hampurr:

Chilled Dom Purrignom finest catnip champagne (More than one bottle, I must add)

Tiny china teacups filled with cream

A selection of supurr tasty finger sandwiches

A selection of catnip liqueur-glazed fruits 

A plate of smoked salmon & tuna canapés alongside the sandwiches

In one of the hampurrs was a selection of puddings, including 

Epic chocolate brownies with catnip sprinkles & Catnip-infused cherry slices

From the Nip and Nom Tea Shoppe, no less! MOL

Plus specials made by the owner, Muriel Meeps  

Honey‑Glazed Cream Puffs with Catmint Crème

Nip‑Soaked Strawberry & Cream Mille‑Paw‑Feuille

Velvet Mousse Chocolat à la Mewton‑Clawson

As mew can see, they were in their element!

This is the only way to picnic in Mewton-Clawson

However, much later on, Parsley and Fudge did have to go and collect them as they got stranded on the punt and couldn't get back to the wooden dock, one too many glasses of champers.

Fudge said later he could hear them cackling with laughter from the middle of the river.

Although Amber denied it vehemently!

That's us done for today. Melvyn will be here on Friday, so do join us then, as he's headed into the library archive on Level Six, and this week there's talk of uprisings, and we're not sure how he's going to cope, so don't miss that! MOL
