Hello furbulous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and OH MY COD, many apologies for being supurr tardy with today's post.
Please let me explain; it was Cat Dad's birthday yesterday, and the P.A. did not get her scheduling right for this week and sadly ran out of time altogether! #ohdear!
Melvyn is supurr apologetic that The Purrminator ~ Chapter Twenty-One didn't make it onto the blog yesterday, but he says because the P.A. failed epically dismally this week, there will be two chapters next week to make up for it!
Oh, and mew just caught me going downstairs for snacks.
There's so much to tell mew about Prudence, but sadly, today there's isn't time, but next week I'll fill mew all in on the hot gossip and nitty gritty, because mew won't catch your breath at what's happened.
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's book review!
1. My April to-do list includes _________ and _________.
2. I only _________ because _________.
3. I'd like to swap jobs with _________ for a day.
4. I can't go to _________ without _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. My April to-do list includes fence painting, door painting, and helping Cat Dad finish the deck in the garden.
2. I only make stuff and sew stuff because I like to experiment/test my abilities.
3. I'd like to swap jobs with a best-selling author for a day. It would be really fun to find out what goes on! LOL
4. I can't go to TK Maxx without going into the homewares department and buying something that I probably, most likely don't need! LOL
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!

A Brunch With Death
Compass Cove Mystery Book 2
by
Mara Webb
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Zora Wick is in trouble. Again.
Life in Compass Cove felt like it was heading in the right direction, but events beyond her control force her to hit the road. It’s only been a month since she inherited her aunt’s bakery and business has already slowed down. Turns out being the new witch in town only brings in the crowds for so long, and an infestation of magical creatures in her apartment means she needs to shut everything down for three days.
I reviewed Book One in this series last February, and please don't ask me why I've never got back to reviewing anymore; it's as I say at the bottom of my post: so many books, so little time! MOL
But now it's back on my radar. There should definitely be two or three more before the end of the review season.
If mew’re looking for a delightful blend of magic, mystery, and mayhem, then look no further than A Brunch With Death! We return to the enchanting town of Compass Cove, where things are never quite what they seem, and our heroine, Zora Wick, finds herself in the thick of it all.
Zora, who recently inherited her aunt’s bakery, is trying to navigate her new life as the town’s resident witch while also running a business. But when her magical creature-infested apartment forces her to close the bakery—oh fluff!—she and her sister, Zelda, hop into their trusty mobile-baking van. Talk about sweet survival! While delivering delicious treats, their antics had me wishing for a slice of whatever they were baking.
But hold onto your tails because the plot thickens when Zora is pulled into a murder investigation. Having been caught arguing with the late businessman (who apparently had a taste for more than just her pastries) and being the last person seen with him certainly puts a damper on her bakery reopening. As the evidence stacks up against her like a leaning tower of cupcakes, Zora must whip up a plan to clear her name and fend off an influx of dark witches with nefarious intentions.
Hermes the talking cat is back with his familiar wit and charm (MOL MOL), and there's a brand new anipal character to add some spice and a few feathers to the mix. But I'll let mew discover exactly who that is! MOL
The witty writing style makes it quite the page-turner. The balance between mystery and humour is spot on, and the vibrant setting of Compass Cove comes alive with its unique charm and whimsical characters, making it a purrfect read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Brunch With Death is a feast of fun that will leave mew craving more mystery—and maybe some pastries, too. (MINE WITH CATNIP, OF COURSE! MOL) With Zora outsmarting the odds and baking her way through mayhem, mew won’t want to miss this magical treat.
A Totally Top Paw Read and addition to the series.

I really hope mew enjoy the book if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books
