Happy 24th Birthday Amber and 12th Birthday Pandora! Come Celebrate at THE MIDNIGHT MOONLIGHT CARNIVAL!!!

Amber and Pandora ride together in a beautifully illuminated carnival carriage high above the festivities, welcoming visitors to the Midnight Moonlight Carnival. Amber's 24th and Pandora's 12th Midnight Moonlight Carnival Birthday Extravaganza!

A few weeks ago we asked Amber and Pandora what kind of pawty they wanted, and many of our readers know that these two always have a joint event in October - today is Amber's official birthday and Pandora's is on the 18th of September, but she always loves to share with Amber; we think that's because Amber's day is closer to Halloween! MOL

Anyhoo, I digressed there just a sec, so we asked what kind of epically epic bash they wanted, and after much to-ing and fro-ing, Amber and Pandora decided on a spook'a'licious moonlit midnight carnival.

"Well," I said. "That sounds rather fun, but I'm still wearing my tactical gear."

Pandora laughed and replied in her odd, little foreign accent. "Typical, mew just can't leave the day job behind, can mew?"

I grinned. "Nope!"

Amber added. "Huh, if that's the case, mew can at least wear a cape or something to hide all the weapons!"

"Oh, sure, sure," I smiled. "That sounds purrfect as long as it matches my red beret."

A collective sigh followed as I walked off.

We spent the next few weeks planning the most wonderful carnival Mewton-Clawson has ever seen!

The Official Opening Ceremony!

The entire BBHQ family gathers beneath the magnificent entrance arch of Amber and Pandora’s Midnight Moonlight Carnival for the official opening ceremony. The scene glows with thousands of golden lights, illuminated pumpkins, carnival lanterns and rich purple‑and‑gold decorations, all set beneath a giant harvest moon shining against a star‑filled sky. At the centre of the celebration stand the evening’s hosts, Amber and Pandora. Amber is dressed in an extravagant carnival gown of deep violet, gold and black, adorned with lace, jewels and feathers, while Pandora wears flowing celestial robes embroidered with moons, stars and mystical symbols, crowned by an elaborate sorceress’s hat. Together they hold ornate ceremonial scissors poised above a wide purple ribbon decorated with golden paw prints and tied with a large gold bow, ready to officially open the carnival. Flanking them are the rest of the BBHQ crew in their finest carnival attire. Basil stands proudly in ceremonial armour and a red beret, while Parsley, Snowie, Posie, Smooch, Fudge, Melvyn and Humphrey wear richly detailed Victorian‑inspired costumes featuring embroidered coats, lace, brocade, feathers, hats, cravats and sparkling accessories. Each cat’s outfit reflects their unique personality while contributing to the lavish carnival theme. Behind the group, brightly illuminated carnival rides sparkle in the distance, including the glowing Moonlight Wheel, grand tents and a dazzling avenue of lights stretching into the festival grounds. Elegant banners proudly display Amber’s and Pandora’s carnival titles, while black cat statues watch over the entrance from stone pedestals above. The entire scene captures a magical moment of celebration, friendship and anticipation as the BBHQ team gathers together to commence the Midnight Moonlight Carnival with style, spectacle and plenty of feline flair.

We all gathered around as Amber and Pandora cut the ribbon and declared their pawty officially open for much fun, merriment, mayhem and epic times!

The Midnight Moonlight Carnival


A spectacular moonlit carnival sprawls across the BBHQ grounds, glowing beneath a giant golden harvest moon reflected in the waters of a tranquil lake. Every corner of the scene sparkles with thousands of lanterns, fairy lights, illuminated pumpkins and rich purple‑and‑gold decorations, creating an enchanting blend of Halloween magic and carnival wonder. At the heart of the festivities stands the magnificent Grand Pawly Pavilion, an opulent tent glowing with chandeliers and welcoming visitors into the centre of the celebration. Leading up to it is a grand entrance marked Amber & Pandora’s Midnight Moonlight Carnival, framed by elegant banners for Amber and Pandora and lined with paw prints guiding guests inside. To the left, the towering Moonlight Wheel ferris wheel shines in purple and gold, its centre adorned with a giant feline face. Nearby, visitors enjoy the Pumpkin Carousel, while the luxurious Amber’s ’24 Carat VIP Lounge offers an exclusive retreat sparkling with crystal lights and lavish furnishings. Across winding waterways, a glowing Nip Fountain acts as a centrepiece where magical waters dance beneath golden lights. To the right, Pandora’s Twelve Moons Pavilion glows with mystical celestial energy, surrounded by magical curiosities, crystal balls, enchanted displays and occult‑inspired décor. Throughout the carnival, visitors wander among food courts, spellbound games, treat stalls, ghostly gondola rides and brightly decorated bridges crossing illuminated canals. Let the Midnight Moonlight Mayhem Begin!

Well, furiends, I don't mind telling mew, the moment we stepped through those magnificent carnival gates, I knew we were in for a truly epic pawty!

The entire place was glowing!

Thousands upon thousands of golden lights twinkled overhead, enormous illuminated pumpkins grinned from every corner, and the most wonderful music drifted through the cool autumn air.

The scent of freshly popped corn infused with primo catnip, warm catnip cinnamon doughnuts, candyfloss, roasted chestnuts and something suspiciously delicious involving melted cheese wafted across the carnival grounds.

And everywhere we looked, there was something extraordinary to see!

The Moonlight Wheel towered above us, its magnificent feline face illuminated in purple and gold. The Pumpkin Carousel was spinning merrily, the Phantom Paw Coaster thundered along its twisting tracks, and the Grand Pawly Pavilion shimmered beneath a canopy of sparkling stars.

"RIGHT, TEAM!" I announced. "Before we all disappear in different directions, I think we should establish a meeting point."

Too late.

Fudge had vanished.

"Where's Fudge?" I asked.

Parsley pointed towards the food court, and I looked.

There, approximately fifty yards away, was an enormous ginger tail disappearing behind a stall advertising SUPERSIZED MOONLIGHT DOUGHNUTS WITH LASHINGS OF CATNIP!

"GOOD GRAVY!" I muttered. "We've been inside for less than thirty seconds!"

Smooch chuckled. "Thirty-seven seconds, actually."

I gave him a look. "Not helping, dude!"

Meanwhile, Amber had stopped beside a meautifully illuminated sign pointing towards her exclusive 24-Carat VIP Lounge.

"Oh, dahlings!" she exclaimed. "Just look at that! Velvet seating, crystal chandeliers, and is that a champagne fountain?"

"It certainly is," Pandora replied, her green eyes sparkling with amusement.

Amber clasped her paws together. "Well, I think I should inspect the facilities immediately. One has certain responsibilities as a birthday hostess!"

"Amber," I said, "we haven't even explored the carnival yet!"

She gave me a very dignified look over the top of her heart-shaped sunglasses.

"Basil, sweetie, quality control is a terribly impawtant responsibility!"

And with that, she swept away in a magnificent rustle of purple silk, gold embroidery and approximately three acres of feathers.

I watched her go. "She's not coming back any time soon, is she?"

"Nope!" said Pandora cheerfully.

Amber relaxes in supreme luxury inside the exclusive 24 Carat VIP Lounge, a dazzling sanctuary at the heart of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival. Reclining gracefully on a sumptuous deep‑purple velvet sofa trimmed with elaborate gold carving, she is dressed in an opulent carnival gown of rich violet, black and gold embroidery, layered with lace, jewels and intricate filigree. A magnificent feathered hat adorned with roses, ribbons and sparkling embellishments crowns her ensemble, while heart‑shaped purple sunglasses add a touch of theatrical glamour. Holding a glass of sparkling champagne, Amber surveys her lavish surroundings as golden candlelight dances across crystal chandeliers suspended from the ceiling. The lounge is awash with rich purple drapery, gilded furniture, flickering lanterns and elegant floral arrangements, creating an atmosphere of pure carnival decadence. Black cat statues stand watch throughout the room, adding a magical and slightly mysterious touch to the luxurious setting. The Great Carnival Expedition!

With Amber temporarily occupied by her extremely impawtant hospitality inspection, the rest of us decided to explore.

Snowie and Posie made a beeline for the Pumpkin Carousel, which was positively bursting with gorgeous golden decorations, sparkling lights and the most ameowzingly carved pumpkins mew've ever seen.

"Oh, this is wonderful!" Snowie exclaimed.

Posie was already choosing her favourite carriage.

Melvyn, meanwhile, had produced a small notebook.

"Right, I've made a list of all the attractions, and if we follow a sensible route, we should be able to see everything without doubling back."

Parsley looked at him. "Melvyn, we're at a birthday pawty, not conducting an inventory audit!"

"I know," Melvyn replied, "but there's so much to do!"

At that moment, the Phantom Paw Coaster roared overhead.

Smooch's ears pricked up.

"OH, NOW THAT LOOKS INTERESTING!"

I knew that expression; it was the same expression he wore whenever he discovered a machine with more moving parts than absolutely necessary.

"Smooch," I warned, "we're here to enjoy the rides, not dismantle them."

"I wasn't going to dismantle anything!"

"Good!"

"I was merely wondering what propulsion system they're using."

"SMOOCH!"

"What?!"

I sighed.

Smooch takes centre stage aboard the Phantom Paw Coaster, hurtling through the dazzling lights of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival at top speed. Seated proudly in the front carriage, the white‑and‑black feline adventurer is dressed in an elaborate red and gold carnival jacket adorned with embroidery, medals, lace cuffs and a towering feathered top hat. With both paws raised high above the safety bar and his mouth wide open mid‑shout, Smooch fully embraces every thrilling twist and turn of the ride. Behind him, a lively collection of BBHQ carnival guests fill the following carriages, all dressed in extravagant Victorian‑inspired carnival costumes. Their feathered hats, embroidered jackets and expressions of excitement add to the joyful chaos as the coaster races along its glowing track. The ride itself shines in rich purple and gold hues, its ornate carriages decorated with paw‑print motifs and illuminated trim. In the background, the towering Phantom Paw Coaster loops dramatically against the night sky, framed by a giant harvest moon reflected in the lake below. Hot‑air balloons shaped like glowing jack‑o’‑lanterns drift overhead while a fairy‑tale castle sparkles across the water in the distance. Meanwhile, at the Moonlight Midway...

We eventually found Fudge at the Great Golden Paw Challenge; he was standing beside a mountain of prizes.

And when I say a mountain, I mean an actual mountain!

There were stuffed bats, enormous plush pumpkins, glittering black-cat cushions, three miniature carnival carousels and something that looked suspiciously like a giant purple octopus wearing a top hat.

"FUDGE!" I exclaimed. "What the fluff have mew been doing?"

He beamed. "Winning!"

"I can see that! But where did all this come from?"

"Well, Basil, the nice chap running the stall said nopawdy had ever won the grand prize before, so naturally I thought I'd give it a go!"

"And?"

"I won!"

"Obviously!"

"Then he said I couldn't possibly do it again!"

I closed my eyes. "Please don't tell me..."

"So I did it another eleven times!"

Melvyn stared at the mountain of prizes.

"How are we going to carry all that?"

Fudge looked genuinely puzzled. "Carry it? Oh, I thought we'd have it delivered to BBHQ!"

Parsley folded his arms. "Absolutely not. We've already got seventeen cupboards full of things mew've bought on Fleabay!"

"Sixteen," Fudge corrected.

"WHAT?"

"I reorganised one yesterday!"

I decided it was probably best not to investigate.

Fudge, the fluffy orange gentleman of BBHQ, sits proudly in the middle of an absolutely enormous mountain of carnival prizes after a spectacular victory at The Great Golden Paw Challenge. Dressed in a richly embroidered black‑and‑gold carnival coat with an orange bow tie and a feather‑topped top hat, he looks thoroughly pleased with himself as he surveys the towering collection of treasures he has somehow managed to win. The prize cart overflows in every direction with Halloween‑themed goodies, plush toys and carnival rewards. Purple plush octopuses wearing tiny top hats spill from stacked boxes, while cheerful black cat toys, bats, pumpkins, ghosts and decorative cushions compete for space among shimmering gift parcels wrapped in purple and gold ribbons. Miniature illuminated carousels, crystal candelabras and glittering ornaments add further sparkle to the extraordinary haul. Behind Fudge, a brightly lit sign announces The Great Golden Paw Challenge, while another proudly declares “WIN WIN WIN!” as if confirming that Fudge has somehow conquered every game in sight. A nearby prize board boasts of plush prizes, carnival gifts and magical treasures, with the reassuring promise that everyone is a winner. Judging by the size of Fudge’s winnings, however, he may have taken that concept slightly more seriously than anyone else. Beyond the prize stall, the Midnight Moonlight Carnival glows beneath the harvest moon. The Moonlight Wheel shines against the night sky, carnival tents sparkle with thousands of lights, and crowds wander through the festive fairground enjoying the celebrations. Rich purple, gold and amber colours illuminate every corner of the scene, creating a magical autumn atmosphere. The entire image captures a wonderfully chaotic moment of carnival triumph, with Fudge buried beneath an almost impossible quantity of prizes, looking every bit the champion of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival’s most coveted challenge.

FYI: after choosing a few items, namely the purple octopus he promptly called Bradley, the plushie ghost now called Kevin, 3 furry pumpkins, two cushions, one floofy bat called Cyril, and a small black cat he called Mini P... don't ask... the rest of the MASSIVE haul was donated to the young cats at Mogwarts. 

Miss Warts and Mogs were thrilled and said that the students would love everything.

A Little Moonlight Magic!

While the others enjoyed the games, Pandora wandered toward her Twelve Moons Pavilion.

The magnificent purple-and-gold tent shimmered beneath the moonlight, its entrance framed by glowing celestial symbols and delicate strands of sparkling crystals.

Inside, twelve meautifully decorated stations represented the signs of the zodiac, while enchanted lanterns floated gently overhead.

Pandora looked absolutely delighted.

"Oh, this is just meautiful!" she whispered.

She lifted one paw, and a delicate shower of tiny golden stars appeared above the entrance, drifting lazily down like magical confetti.

Several nearby guests stopped to admire the display.

"Pandora!" I called. "That's rather impressive!"

She smiled. "Just a little birthday sparkle, Basil!"

"Well, keep it little, please. I don't want the entire carnival disappearing into another dimension!"

She laughed. "Mew worry too much!"

"Somepawdy has to!"

Deep within the glowing heart of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival, Pandora presides over her spectacular Twelve Moons Pavilion, a magical attraction dedicated to astrology, divination and celestial wonder. Dressed in flowing midnight‑purple robes embroidered with golden moons, stars and mystical symbols, the fluffy black enchantress stands at the centre of the pavilion beneath a lavish feathered hat adorned with jewels, ribbons, crescents and sparkling ornaments. Her vivid green eyes shine beneath the carnival lights as she appears to conjure magic around a glowing lunar orb suspended before her. The pavilion itself is a breathtaking celestial sanctuary draped in rich purple fabrics and illuminated by hundreds of lanterns, candles and crystal chandeliers. At the centre of the display, a radiant moon globe swirls with sparkling magical energy, encircled by rings of golden stardust that appear to orbit its glowing surface. Tables overflow with crystal spheres, polished gemstones, ancient books, astrological instruments and mystical artifacts, each contributing to the pavilion’s enchanting atmosphere. Surrounding Pandora are beautifully illuminated zodiac banners displaying all twelve signs, from Aries and Taurus through Aquarius and Pisces, forming a grand celestial gallery around the circular pavilion. A decorative signboard advertises the pavilion’s attractions, including tarot readings, moon spells, celestial curiosities, astrology guidance, crystal magic and birthday blessings. Visitors dressed in elegant carnival finery wander among the displays, exploring the mysteries of the stars beneath a canopy of glowing celestial decorations. Crystal lanterns hang overhead like miniature galaxies, while purple smoke drifts softly among the candlelit tables, adding to the dreamlike atmosphere. The entire scene glows with rich shades of violet, gold and amethyst, capturing Pandora at the height of her magical powers as she welcomes curious carnival guests into one of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival’s most enchanting and mysterious attractions.

 And Then Came the Golden Gondolas!

Eventually, we all gathered beside the magnificent Moonlight Wheel.

Even Amber had reappeared, and she'd somehow acquired another cocktail.

"Amber," I said, eyeing the glass, "how many of those have mew had?"

She looked utterly scandalised. "Basil! A lady never discusses such things!"

"Fair enough!"

"Besides, this is an Orange Catnip Starburst. Entirely different from the one I had earlier!"

I decided not to pursue the matter.

The birthday girls climbed aboard one of the decadently decorated golden gondolas, settling into the plush velvet seats and then drifted out onto the lake.

"Pandora, dahling, this reminds me of Italy," Amber said as she sipped her drink. "Although  I did have somepawdy steering the thing over there, would mew mind taking the controls?"

The glowing fountains danced in the central plaza, the carousel glittered, the Phantom Paw Coaster twisted through the darkness, and the Grand Pawty Pavilion shone like a golden palace.

Amber raised her glass as Pandora waved back, laughing.

And for one glorious moment, everything was absolutely purrfect.

No emergencies. Zero unexpected explosions. And absolutely no mysterious portals whatsoever!

Just two very special birthday girls enjoying the most magnificent Halloween carnival BBHQ had ever seen.

I smiled. "Now THIS," I said, "is what I call a pawty!"

Amber and Pandora glide gracefully through the heart of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival aboard an exquisitely decorated golden gondola, its ornate railings and carved details gleaming beneath thousands of twinkling lights. Floating across a canal illuminated by lanterns and reflections, the luxurious vessel is adorned with celestial motifs, golden stars, crescent moons, roses, ribbons and jewel‑toned decorations in rich shades of purple and gold. Meanwhile, Humphrey, Parsley, Posie and Snowie had discovered an entire avenue of carnival games, and judging by the amount of laughter coming from that direction, they were having a rather splendid time!

"Come on, Parsley!" Snowie called. "Mew can't possibly resist having a go!"

Parsley eyed the row of brightly illuminated stalls. "I can resist purrfectly well, thank mew!"

"Oh, really?" Posie grinned. "Even that one?"

She pointed towards a magnificent black-and-gold stall advertising THE MIDNIGHT NINJA CHALLENGE!

Parsley stopped dead.

Humphrey chuckled. "Oh dear, I think they've found your weakness, dude!"

The challenge was to knock down twelve miniature golden pumpkins with three velvet-covered balls.

Parsley studied the arrangement. "What's the prize?"

The carnival attendant gestured towards an enormous black-and-gold trophy shaped like a ninja cat.

Parsley's eyes narrowed. "Interesting."

Snowie exchanged a knowing glance with Posie.

"Oh, this should be good!" she whispered.

Parsley stepped up to the counter, selected his first ball, took careful aim and...

THWACK!

Four pumpkins went flying, and he picked up the second ball.

THWACK!

Another four disappeared, and then, with the tiniest flick of his paw, he sent the final ball sailing towards the remaining pumpkins.

CLATTER!

All twelve were down!

The attendant stared as Humphrey burst out laughing. "Well, that was rather spectacular!"

Parsley accepted his trophy with a modest nod. "Basic coordination, dude!"

"Basic coordination?" Posie exclaimed. "Mew just demolished the entire display!"

Parsley shrugged. "Good game!"

Parsley takes aim at the Midnight Moonlight Carnival’s most competitive game, The Midnight Ninja Challenge, as a purple paw‑print ball flies from his paw toward a row of golden pumpkin targets. Dressed in a spectacular black‑and‑gold carnival uniform with a crimson cape and his signature red beret, the sleek black cat leans forward in concentration, fully committed to securing ninja glory. Gathered around him are fellow BBHQ teammates cheering him on. Snowie, elegant in a cream and gold Victorian‑inspired carnival gown adorned with feathers, flowers and jewels, watches with eager anticipation. Posie, resplendent in vibrant pink carnival attire with matching floral decorations and an elaborate hat, clasps her paws together in excitement. Humphrey, dressed in black and gold finery complete with a top hat and jewel‑trimmed cravat, stands proudly behind them, looking ready to celebrate the outcome. The challenge booth glows beneath hundreds of lanterns and carnival lights. Rich purple banners proclaim “The Midnight Ninja Challenge,” while a trophy topped with a golden ninja cat stands ready for the evening’s champion. A nearby sign explains the mission: knock down twelve golden pumpkins with just three balls to claim the coveted Ninja Cat Trophy. Amber and Pandora take centre stage among the gathering, surrounded by crystal goblets, glowing glassware, pumpkin lanterns and ornate decorations featuring paw prints, moons and stars. The polished bar top sparkles with coloured lights reflected from dozens of illuminated drinks and decorative candles arranged across its surface. Behind them, elegant menu boards advertise whimsical carnival refreshments including The Orange Catnip Stardust, Moonlight Meowtini, Purple Passion, Black Cat Cosmo, Midnight Margaripaw, Pumpkin Spice Pawsecco, Celestial Spritz, The Nine Lives Negroni, Pawsecco, Nip Infusions and Meowgaritas. A humorous sign on one side warns: “For Cod’s Sake Don’t Let Her Get Behind A Bar!!! Mol Mol Mol.” Beyond the open pavilion, the Midnight Moonlight Carnival glows beneath the harvest moon. The Grand Pawty Birthday Finale!

Well, furiends, after all that excitement, it was finally time for the grand birthday celebration!

We'd all gathered at the Midnight Moonlight Cocktail Bar for a well-earned refreshment, and I have to say, seeing the entire B Team together in their magnificent carnival costumes was quite a sight!

"Right, everypawdy!" I announced, raising my glass. "I think it's time we gave our birthday girls a proper toast!"

"About time!" Amber declared, adjusting her enormous feathered hat. "I've been waiting all evening for somepawdy to say something suitably flattering!"

Pandora giggled. "Amber, mew've been receiving compliments since we arrived!"

"Yes, dahling, but one can never have too many!"

I shook my head, grinning.

"To Amber and Pandora! Two of the most extraordinary felines I know. May mew have many more wonderful birthdays, magical adventures and utterly epic pawties!"

"CHEERS!" everypawdy shouted.

Glasses clinked, the music swelled, and Amber looked thoroughly delighted.

"Very nice, Basil," she said. "Short, sweet and appropriately complimentary!"

"Glad I passed inspection!" I laughed.

Just then, the lights inside the Grand Pawly Pavilion began to dim.

A magnificent golden spotlight illuminated the centre of the pavilion, and two enormous birthday cakes were wheeled onto the stage.

And when I say enormous, furiends, I mean absolutely gigantic!

Amber's cake was a spectacular twenty-four-carat-inspired creation, with tiers of deep purple and shimmering gold, delicate sugar roses, edible jewels and intricate golden decorations. At the very top stood an enormous glittering 24.

The centrepiece of the Midnight Moonlight Carnival becomes a spectacular joint birthday celebration as Amber and Pandora stand proudly beside two magnificent custom‑designed birthday cakes, surrounded by friends, lanterns, candles and glittering carnival decorations. Beneath a grand illuminated sign reading “Amber & Pandora’s Midnight Moonlight Carnival,” the entire scene glows with rich shades of purple, gold and midnight blue beneath the light of a giant harvest moon. Amber stands beside her lavish birthday cake, an ornate creation decorated in gold, black and amethyst tones, trimmed with roses, jewels, paw prints and elaborate filigree. A sparkling golden number 24 rises above the cake, celebrating Amber’s twenty‑fourth birthday. Dressed in an exquisite carnival gown adorned with embroidery, lace, feathers and flowers, she wears a magnificent hat bursting with roses and jewel‑toned decorations, making her the very picture of carnival elegance. Beside her, Pandora stands with her equally breathtaking celestial birthday cake. Decorated with moons, stars, constellations, crystal spheres and midnight‑blue embellishments, the multi‑tiered masterpiece celebrates her twelfth birthday with a glowing number 12 set within a crescent‑moon display. Gathered around them are members of the BBHQ family, all dressed in extravagant carnival attire complete with top hats, feathers, lace, jewels and richly detailed coats. Lanterns, glowing candles, crystal ornaments, carved pumpkins and black cat decorations fill every available space, adding warmth and enchantment to the birthday display. Behind the group, towering banners proudly announce “Happy 24th Birthday Amber” and “Happy 12th Birthday Pandora,” while additional banners bearing their names and ages hang from the carnival structure overhead. Beyond the celebration, thousands of lights illuminate carnival tents, bridges, towers and pathways that stretch into the moonlit distance. The entire scene radiates friendship, celebration and magical carnival splendour, capturing a joyful moment as Amber and Pandora celebrate their birthdays surrounded by family, laughter, dazzling decorations and two of the most extraordinary cakes ever seen at BBHQ.

Pandora's cake was equally magnificent, although completely different. Twelve celestial tiers shimmered in midnight blue, violet and silver, decorated with golden moons, sparkling stars, tiny zodiac constellations and a glowing crescent moon surrounding the number 12.

For once, Amber was speechless, well, for approximately three seconds.

"Oh, my goodness!" she exclaimed. "Dahlings, they're absolutely DIVINE!"

Pandora's green eyes sparkled. "Oh, Amber, look at all the little moons!"

Fudge appeared beside the cakes with a plate and fork. "Are we cutting them now?"

"FUDGE!" I exclaimed.

"What?" he asked innocently. "I'm just being prepared!"

Melvyn hurried over with his notebook. "Actually, according to the schedule, the cake-cutting ceremony isn't due to begin for another four minutes!"

Parsley chuckled. "Put the notebook away, little dude!"

Smooch was studying the candles. "Those are rather interesting. I wonder if they're..."

"SMOOCH!" I interrupted. "Please don't experiment with the birthday cakes!"

He looked mildly offended. "I was only going to ask if they were magical!"

Pandora smiled. "Well, perhaps just a little!"

I looked at her. "Pandora..."

She winked.

A Little Birthday Wish!

The whole B Team gathered around as Amber and Pandora stepped forward.

We sang Happy Birthday at the top of our voices, and judging by the cheering from outside, half the carnival joined in!

Then the birthday girls closed their eyes and made their wishes.

Amber blew out her candles first.

Pandora lifted one paw, and her twelve tiny moon-shaped candles floated gently into the air, arranging themselves into a purrfect glowing circle before disappearing in a shower of golden stardust.

The entire pavilion erupted into applause!

"Now that's what I call blowing out the candles in style!" Humphrey laughed.

"Show-off!" Amber teased affectionately.

Pandora grinned. "Just a little birthday magic!"

I glanced upwards, and luckily the roof was still there! MOL

Excellent!

And then, just as the enormous carnival clock struck midnight, something truly wonderful happened.

The music changed, the lights across the carnival dimmed, and the great Moonlight Wheel began to glow with thousands of sparkling purple and golden lights.

A moment later...

WHOOSH!

The first golden firework soared into the night sky!

BOOM!

A magnificent shower of violet stars burst above the carnival.

Then came enormous golden chrysanthemums, glittering silver comets, sparkling purple fountains and dazzling cascades of light that illuminated the entire lake.

The crowd cheered, and the fountains danced!

As the Midnight Moonlight Carnival draws to a spectacular close, the entire B Team sits together overlooking the glowing carnival grounds, watching a breathtaking fireworks display illuminate the night sky. Viewed from behind, the cats are dressed in their most extravagant carnival finery, a dazzling array of embroidered jackets, feathered hats, jeweled accessories, velvet capes and celestial motifs in rich shades of purple, gold, crimson and midnight blue. From left to right, the BBHQ crew gather shoulder‑to‑shoulder, creating a picture of friendship and shared celebration. Lanterns flicker around them, casting a warm golden glow over the viewing terrace, while pumpkins, candles and flowers decorate the foreground in true Midnight Moonlight Carnival style. Before them stretches a magnificent carnival landscape reflected in the calm waters of the lake. The glowing Moonlight Wheel turns beneath the enormous harvest moon, while the Pumpkin Carousel, Grand Pawly Pavilion, illuminated bridges and sparkling carnival tents create a magical wonderland of light. Boats drift across the water carrying visitors enjoying the final moments of the festivities, and dancing fountains shimmer in shades of violet and gold at the centre of the lake. Overhead, the night sky erupts with spectacular fireworks in every direction. Brilliant golden bursts fill the heavens alongside vibrant purple displays. Some fireworks take whimsical carnival shapes, including a giant glowing paw print, a smiling feline face and a sparkling heart. The reflections dance across the lake below, doubling the magic of the display. Beyond the carnival, a fairy‑tale castle glows among the distant hills and mountains beneath the enormous full moon. Thousands of tiny lights sparkle throughout the grounds, transforming the entire landscape into a storybook scene of celebration and wonder. The image captures a perfect closing moment for the Midnight Moonlight Carnival: the BBHQ family gathered together in peaceful companionship, admiring the dazzling grand finale and reflecting on a magical night filled with adventure, friendship, laughter and unforgettable carnival memories.

And standing there, surrounded by my wonderful B Team, I couldn't help thinking what a truly extraordinary evening it had been.

Amber slipped one paw around Pandora.

"Oh, dahling," she said softly. "This has been the most wonderful birthday."

Pandora smiled. "It really has!"

I raised my glass one last time. "Happy Birthday, girls!"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" the B Team chorused.

And just when I thought we'd reached the perfect ending, Amber turned to me.

"Basil, sweetie?"

"Yes, Amber?"

"Same again next year?"

I looked around at the enormous carnival, the spectacular decorations, the thousands of lights, and the sheer scale of everything we'd created.

I sighed. "Can we at least finish this one first?"

Amber laughed. "Of course! Now, where did they put the champagne?"

GOOD GRAVY! MOL MOL MOL!

And there mew have it, furiends, another epically epic BBHQ birthday extravaganza!

We hope mew've had as much fun celebrating with us as we've had bringing the Midnight Moonlight Carnival to life.
